  1. We had a North Eastern base back then, and a brilliant scout called Jack Hixon. It brought players like Shearer, Maddison and Widdrington to the club. We didn't steal them from anywhere else, we scouted and developed them ourselves.
  2. Tommy Forecast has been nicknamed Tommy NoFingers by certain members of the coaching staff. He wouldn't get into an average Wessex League side, and as an aside, it appears that he's soft as sh*te as well.
  3. I reckon we'll sign Murphy from S****horpe and CMS plus a centre back and a centre midfielder. I am very rarely right.
  4. I don't think the Ryder Cup would be what it is today if it wasn't for Seve. A true sporting legend.
  5. Top 4 Ball Strachan Adkins Hoddle Shame Pearson didn't stay, he could have got in my list. Great move by Rupert to replace him with a couple of Dutchmen who ran a few pub sides.
  6. Nicholl was a bit of a miracle worker. He kept us in the top division on a real shoestring budget, I'm not sure if he bought a player from a top flight club the whole time he was manager. Replacing him with Branfoot was fairly typical of the incompetent Askham.
  7. He was a genius.
  8. We've built a championship side while in div 1, so why not build a prem side in the championship. Jamie O Hara would cost a bit in wages, but would be superb. On loan with Wolves who will be relegated soon, so why not have a crack.
  9. I think he had the most fantastic haircut, and as a baldie myself it is something I am trying to cultivate.
  10. There are some right miserable gits on here. They wedding yesterday gave the country a bit of a lift and I got an extra day off work out of it. Cheers William and Kate, all the best. Diane Abbott is a hypocrite of the highest order, against private schooling for the masses but sees nothing wrong with sending her own child to a private school. If she says we should get rid of the Royals, then I'm quite comfortable with my opinion that we shouldn't.
  11. We'll beat this lot today. Couldn't give a toss how Huddersfield get on against Graceless Gus the Charmless Man.
  12. Pathetic Lee. Get your tongue out of Poyet's arse. Last game you had against them you were taking this p*ss at the final whistle for their card waving gestures.
  13. I really couldn't give a toss who wins between Brighton and Huddersfield. We need to win 2 out of 3 games, end of story. Poyet has shown how charmless he is, and is a total bellend on the touchline with his card waving gestures. Petty, small-minded man.
  14. That is sick and true politics of the gutter.
  15. A bit of a step up for you then dune.
  16. I thought it was Nobby Spleen, who is on loan to East Pork Rovers from Hotshot Hotspurs.
  17. You may have just persuaded me to vote yes to AV!
  18. And clearly against their 'principles' judging by the decisions they have made on Government.
  19. You're all for changes that give the Tories a helping hand. If you're that confident about the next election it wouldn't bother you either way. I don't think the next election is a foregone conclusion either way. Ed M has yet to convince me that he would be a good leader, the Tories are ****ing people off left, right and centre, and the Lib Dems are being shown up for the unprincipled opportunists they've always been.
  20. AV is more flawed than first past the post, so probably a no from me. As a caveat, I don't want the number of MPs reduced or boundaries changed. It is a little hypocritical of Cameron to want a smaller Government, when he's just had is knuckles rapped for making too many Lords up. I don't really blame him for this, but if he wants to make savings, then it should be on the Lords side.
  21. Forte came on as sub against MK Dons and scored 2, came on as sub second half v Rochdale and played well, and I thought he had a decent game on the left with Dickson on Saturday. If Barnard is out, then we could play Guly up front (not sure who would play right), or keep Guly and Forte wide and play Lallana with Lambert. They played together a bit last season and did well. Or play Connolly up front and have Gully and Lallana playing wide. For all the moaning about not signing this player or that, we aren't exactly chucking youth teamers in are we.
  22. I also heard this from my brother who heard it from a source close to the family. My brother is full of sh*t though.
  23. I thought we created quite a few chances. Much better than the hit and hope we played in the last 15 minutes of games last season.
  24. The only time I can remember it happen was when those dirty skate bastards laid down for WBA when we went down.
  25. I couldn't give two f*cks whether they wheel out their best team or not. They're not exactly Man Utd, and struggled to beat Dagenham and Swindon recently. If we play well there's no reason why we can't turn them over.
