Indeed. My dad (a retired docker) did flying picket duty in Portsmouth during a strike in the late 70s, they didn't get any support from Pompey workers. The MD from Townsend Thoreson got a bollocking from the police when he moaned about his jag being turned upside down, for parking it there in the first place.
I've said this more times than I care to remember, Southampton dockers didn't break a strike, it is a myth.
I've played football with a fair few Pompey supporters, and they were all good lads. We had a bit of banter with each other, and there was no malice. It's a shame that it isn't like that generally.
