I think you'll find if you look at it statistically, they have a population of over 200 million and rising, ours is a lot smaller....essentially, things like that happen here too...just not as often. Also, if you want to get into a conversation about WHY they have guns? why they like guns and why they use guns? you are going to have to go a very long way back (I mean colonial history for them....for example, a Georgian article exclaiming how great they were with guns, is a case in point).

Seen the quotes on the snooze about how they're "still the best fans in the country"....They'll never get it that lines like that make them seem like a classless bunch of numpties...Even when they no longer have a club to support they'll be banging that drum :s

I did read that and think "oh ffs, why don't you just do one!"
-
I also heard that the Fratton faithful boo'd their team off the pitch but this simply can't be true as the bestest fans in the world ever do not and never have boo'd their own players moosh.

List of sex acts that are now illegal in British porn

How the heck do you get non-aggressive whipping? Verbal abuse? So if the actor calls him or her a "sl)t" then that's band? And as CB saints says....what's wrong with female ejaculation? -
I always take issue with their use of the word "demolition", it was a frankly, equal game between an (at the time) premiership side and a league one team with a similar level of percentage for each side.

Who'd have funk it? A decent former Crystal Palace defender spotting...well, another decent Crystal Palace defender.

Driving down to the Pyrenees. Any advice forthcoming?
Hockey_saint replied to View From The Top's topic in The Lounge
I've just done the train and back to Barcelona via Eurostar and the SNCF. I'm quite surprised at how long it takes you by car as the train from Gar Du Lyon to Barcelona Sants took 6 hours through the Pyrenees. (Really if anyone fancies taking the train I would highly recommend it as it's a very pleasurable experience indeed). -
He was convicted in a court of law who pronounced him guilty of rape. He is a rapist and as a footballer, he is a role model; what does this say to young supporters? it's totally fine to rape someone? whilst most on here would poo-poo this view, no matter if he's "served his time" or not and was the most remorseful man on the planet (which he is not). I wouldn't let him anywhere near a football pitch. So no, I think everyone who has pulled out of Sheffield United are completely right to do so.

Savetube is your friend, get the url, enter it into the site and download the link from there, I think it puts it onto an MP4. It might take a bit of effort but you should be able to. -

As I said in the previous thread, I once (or rather my brother did) have the VHS but this is superb, thanks very much for sharing it! -
Mick Channon's Southampton prediction in 1990
Hockey_saint replied to yellow&blue's topic in The Saints
Thank you very much! I've literally been searching for that for years since I lost the original video; seemed like a lovely bloke, a deadly goalscorer in his time and clearly a Southampton lad at heart. -
Mick Channon's Southampton prediction in 1990

On that video, there's a clip of the prolific...and world-class, former Southampton and Arsenal striker, Ted Drake saying the immortal words "once a saint, always a saint and I'll be a saint until the end of my days" (as I recall he was a local lad who worked for the Gasworks...which I assume is essentially where the stadium is now?), would it be possible for someone to pop that on Youtube (it's a big ask) but it's on the same video and it's such an inspiring one as he did until he died. -
Bear in mind Bearsy (see what I did there? ;p) Canada does have a bit of a track record for Asian extremists. It was a Canadian Sikh sect who ordered the assassination of Indira Gandhi and the blowing up of an Air India plane over the Atlantic.

MATCHDAY UNCOVERED: Saints 8-0 Sunderland

Nice to actually hear Katharina's voice too (said in a totally non-stalker way you understand) -
His idea was reasonably valid but he should have realised, as I say, what with the current "deficit" climate and disabled people disproportionately taking the hit that this may not have been the wisest thing to say.
-
I enjoyed watching Cameron's reply to the suggestion he doesn't care about disabled people (obviously referencing his dead disabled son Ivor...who he (as a millionaire and husband of an Astor remember) claimed Disability Living Allowance for, a benefit he's currently "modernising" (cutting an arbitory 20% of) for living disabled people). Guilt perhaps? the lady doth protest too much methinks. Or should I mention the removal of the independent living fund? (a fund created by Thatcher to appease those who were worried about her closing down so many care homes). No, this is a very easy target for those against the conservative ideals and he's done himself no favours whatsoever especially considering there have regularly been disabled people protesting against the cuts this government have made with things like the bedroom tax (and before anyone says they were needed they need to examine the recent quantitative easing the federal reserve have just done...put simply, if you mention the deficit, you have no idea of how money works.)

Yeah, he's more specialised in employment law but again, a shop can simply refuse to sell the particular item if it is priced incorrectly. It IS an invitation to shop. For example, according to the Citizens advice website: "If there are two separate prices on the same item, you can offer to pay the lower price and see if the trader accepts this. They might do, but they don’t have to. If you don’t want to pay the higher price and thetrader won’t accept the lower price, you could see if they will accept an offer at a price in between. Whatever offer you make, thetrader has to agree to it before there is a binding contract." ALSO, concerning this particular case, they say: "If the trader makes a genuine mistake when pricing something, they won’t have committed an offence. ,The trader doesn’t have to sell you the goods at that price. If you find out the price is higher than you want to pay you can change your mind about buying it." There are new laws concerning consumer rights coming out all the time though as well; but I'd still say the law is slightly more weighted towards the retailer than the shopper.
-
Again, it's an "invitation to shop"; even if it's written on signage, there is no legal obligation to sell at that particular price. I work part time in a retail store with a student para-legal and he informs me there is no legal obligation whatsoever, it's just good practise and with these days of online shopping, retail is dying a slow death, they tend to desperately agree to these customer suggestions. but don't ever think that they HAVE to sell it at the price you see as this is folly. Remember, shops once used to charge for entry but as my friend above says "those who shout "I know my rights" in a retail sense, really don't". For example, the store I work in had an "up to 80%" sale on and, as you know, this can be anything UP TO 80% and I had a woman moan the other day that there were a few items on a nearby shelf at only 50%, now, I know the shop doesn't have any legal requirement to change this, but I removed the items....until she left and then put them back later. Just don't think, as a customer you have any real rights to buy something at a particular price written in signage, it's just good practise.
-
Spurs.....really? you think £10 million what with the prices the other players were going for would be enough for Morgan?.....really? Actually, I wonder if Cortese actually did just tell him that to get him to sign the contract, I mean, he always was a bit devious like that...played a blinder if he fooled him, MoPo and Spuds into thinking that if he did however.
-
Exactly, wasn't Cropper at one point training with the full US squad? so surely he has to be in with a chance for the U21s?
-
No....that wasn't sarcasm...ok, it was; I find it amazing how they can say they're now debt free. It's an even more horrendous claim than the one about them holding the cup the longest, thank you Mr Taxman for writing off all that debt and leaving all those businesses in the lurch and thank you Mr Hitler for starting a war that killed over 9 million people.
-
I assume that's sarcasm?
-
I reckon it's just a very interpretive statement but then I think they should know by now that it's interpretive statements from accountants that got them into trouble to begin with!

To be fair, like the other week, it was good to see that they'd gotten at least one relevant pundit in! I mean Lennon was perfect to talk about Wanyama the other week and I was hoping Gullit, the former Feyenoord and old friend of Cruyff's would be a great selection too.
