On top of which the PL clubs are known to be awash with cash compared to other leagues. And any selling club doing their research will be prepared to up the cost believing our negotiating team have shown to be weak it seems. Shame that our targets don't embrace a VVD approach of to throwing toys and strops to get the move. Perhaps they save that trump card for after joining us. Whether Promes would have been a good fit or not, we'll never know.

On the Luke Shaw diet then, that bodes well.
-
Not sure that is within our style, even with Mark Hughes as manager. Romeu can be a bit overzealous in his tackling, and possibly Lemina, but apart from those two it's not an area we prosper in. JWP ?? If we do, then at what stage do we go down to 10 men?

Or a new (slimline) Wanyama ...

Doesn't come across as happy with the 'project' he signed up for.
-
Or £35m next summer if he performs for the full season.

I don't recall that, when things were going well he received a great deal of praise and equally was happy to bask in the reflected glory and media attention. It seems to me that the turning points were the Alderweirald fiasco - especially considering his public statements about it and interview before TA ****ed off to spurs - and then the souring relationship with Koeman. After RK left of course the criticism went up a level owing to two poorly handled appointments, and then sticking with the clown. Whatever 'credits' Reed may have built up have dwindled and now overtaken by two clusterf*ck summers with the appointments and signings in that period. To offer some defence to Reed though we don't know what limitations or brief he is working under from above.

Suspended surely? Wouldn't mind seeing Gallagher and Gabbiadini up front together.

This is probably the trade off for the fans forum, we'll give you access but don't question us too much..

I thought he tried to 'protect' Hojberg a bit in his comments on MOTD. The suggestion that he 'picked up' a knock some distance out was quite fanciful, bordering ridiculous in my book. But I'd rather he didn't go full 'Mourinho' on one of our players in public and caused a major media circus. I suspect he might have had a few stronger words in the dressing room for PEH, and that's fine by me. Before the lynch mob go overboard about his comments yesterday, they were probably a little better thought out than Adkins after Rodriguez incident at Aston Villa where we were awarded a penalty after there appeared to be no contact. Something to the effect of 'well, if he'd made contact he would have gone down.. so he went down anyway...' okay the last part is my summary and take on it, but it seemed even more embarrassing than Hughes response yesterday. What did annoy me yesterday though was the Solent interview with Hughes where Adam Blackmore avoided the obvious questions that supporters would have liked a response on: Hughes view on the incident and sending off, why no Gabbiadini or Yoshida especially with the close of the transfer window this week. Sounded to me if it was pre-agreed that these topics were off limits.

Strange how opinions can vary then, as I'm not a great fan of Long (although acknowledge his effort and commitment) and felt he was okay for much of yesterday and contributed a bit with his running, first half especially. Obviously he was crap in front of goal but I've come to accept that you don't start him if you're looking for his goals contribution.

Think they arrived a bit later, mid to late 80's.
-
Sorry Dalek, just seen that you'd already used this comparison ahead of me. Next time I want an insult to use on the board I'll go to the Viz Profanisaurus.
-
Vestergaard, and then Yoshida are ahead of the others in my book. Bednarek is unproven but having been selected for his national team I think he has potential and a bit more about him than the other remaining CB's. Difficult selecting between JS & WH. Strangely I think either could progress playing alongside a more experienced CB to lead the back four, but both have costly errors in them. Selection between these two might depend if you want a right or left sided CB.
-
Christ, this reminds me of a Viz character from the 1980's. If Mr Logic did football message boards then this is the sort of offering we'd see.

But apparently it's their CEO's fault for not spending even more..
-
So we value him at in excess of £8m ?
-
Watford were one of the sides I thought would struggle this season, but two wins out of two.Perhaps it'll be a season where "anyone can beat anyone". Just hope we partake and pick up the wins along the way also.
-
Mourinho is clearly on another collision course with the hierarchy at Old Trafford. Rather like his last season at Chelsea nothing is his fault, and others are contriving against him. Fun to watch the Mancs implode.

Home v a team managed by Puel. This game must have interesting possibilities. But anything less than a home win will be disappointing. Hopefully not 5 at the back, the cumbersome Austin on the bench, and Gabbiadini and Ings to start would be my choice.

Posted the following on another thread, probably relevant here: I don't really want to join the simmering criticisms of Hughes though . He wouldn't have been my choice to replace Koeman by any means, but given what followed and managing to keep us up he's deserved a crack at it and we won't attract a better option for a year or so. The squad at his disposal though is largely a Reed/Wilson creation rather than his, but if he perseveres with a hapless 5 at the back then the anger will start to turn in his direction I'm sure.

Two league games... As for adding bite in midfield, the window is closed, unless we can secure a freebie... Flat back four - agree
