Disregard that have just seen both Ruddock and Cork have a sinle cap. Widening this to all four home nations always though Eric Martin was unlucky not to get a Scotland cap when he really hit form one season.

I like the idea but a major influence in the club's dedision making is that they'd never own the full copyright to the city crest as they would to a bespoke design. I'm not sure the minor tweaks/additions would satisfy the club that it wasn't easy to pass off on merchandise. A crest I found intersting was on a the Church hall or building near St Mary's at the time the stadium was built, it combined the city crest with the St Mary's crest which from recollection was crossed keys. That would have been a suitable change at the time we were moving back to the area (although probably still subject to a copyright consideration).The building though is no longer there and I've been unable to trace this on the internet since.

Was the 'Ted Bates statue' of badges wasn't it ?

I've never been a fan of the badge as with all the various elements it appears too cluttered. Up until a couple of seasons ago I'd have welcomed a change. This type of thread has run a few times before and on one occasion I think a poster under the name of Gecko gave some excellent alternative options. However I've come to realise that any change is likely to be a modern abortion of a design so would rather it be left alone. The suggested design here is perhaps a prime example of why it should remain.

I'm sure we are, but Wiiliams was a loan as I recall. I don't see us spending the kind of £ that Genk are likely to want for Maehle to be an "option" or cover. From the little I've seen I'd be pleased to see him here. I'd have preferred him or Zeefuik in the summer ahead of KWP though I'm not sure he would displace KWP at the moment. To be fair KWP hasn't looked out of place this season (opening two games aside in which the whole team were poor),and has been been a pretty consistent performer, better than I expected.

Agreed. Can't believe anyone would think otherwise when the most likely alternatives are Shane Long, or Obafemi. Long can be a useful sub but don't think he should be a starter for us.

Great result and although our spell at the top may only be for hours it's great testimony to Ralph's working and players some of whom have reached extra heights or perhaps are playing above themselves. Long may it continue. This is a new experience for an entire generation of Saints fans, enjoy it whilst you can. Strangely it doesn't feel as momentous to me as when I saw us go top for the first time in our history (1982 at Ayresome Park) but we then had Keegan, Channon and Ball playing for us so there was a feeling that it was 'natural' for us to reach that height. The current squad aren't in the same illustrious band as that team so going top this time feels more' 'deserved' as it's been done through hard work, effort and following Ralph's tactics and style.

We hope he is, but how often have we seen these return dates becoming movable feasts, (making progress, light training, not quite match fit yet, after Christmas.. after the next international break... and before we know it "we hope to see him again before the end of the season" ..) ?

With news of Ings injury and operation perhaps the focus will change again ...

Great shame but if it's 4-6 weeks then so be it, Theo can grasp the opportunity to earn a new contract. Think I read - may have been on here - his most prolific time with Arsenal was playing as more of a striker than being stuck out on the wing ? Just hope the injury isn't one of those rolling injuries where 4-6 weeks becomes 4-6 months. Saints have got a bit of a record for underplaying injuries, Salisu for one.

It is quite possible that she inserted a clause that she had first option on his shares, and vice versa, but once she's passed up that opportunity he'd probably be free to sell as he saw fit. (Hopefully not).
