  1. or putting in another context, a level at which JWP is said to excel in.
  2. Chris Baird ? Although you did say debut, as opposed to first team debut
  3. Newcastle, don't mind Brighton coming up to be honest, local game etc leaving the skates further down the south coast hierachy.Reading for the same reason, decent local fixture. If Reading don't do it then Huddersfield or even Norwich. Don't want it to be Leeds, no matter how "big" they are, just can't take to the club (legacy of 60's and 70's perhaps but that's it). Wednesday - no thanks, always a bogey club in the 80's & 90's. Derby ? big "f^ck off" to them (play offs and all that).
  4. Doesn't do himself any favours with the sort of feeble performance he puts in when selected though, in particular last week v West Ham.
  5. I'd be inclined to see how they fare against stronger opposition than Sunderland before I relax about our current CB options. Lets hope they cope against all that the Mancs throw at them.
  6. May have done well in bringing Gabbiadini in but doesn't cloud the f^ck up over CB's.
  7. According to this article, 16 months. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/dec/13/tottenham-hotspur-paul-mitchell-recruitment-notice-period. Not sure when he resigned, only that it was in the press in August.
  8. Are we saving the nuns for the EFL Final ?
  9. Better bring him off at half time then before he gets injured.
  10. Very good. You could be a headline writer for a tabloid - if anyone outside of SMS remembers Portvliet that is.
  11. Think the headline about Southampton Supremo is a little misleading (probably written after a few pints of McEwans and a battered Mars Bar supper)
  12. I expect he'd regard Reading as his "spiritual home" though. As a back up RB for Cedric though he might DAJFU instead of Martina.
  13. Where did you see this ?
  14. FFS - hope its not tartan blankets and thermoflasks day out.
  15. Yes, got the bastards!
  16. Uncanny resemblance to Osvaldo.
  17. Same could be asked about Gabriel, Walker, and O'Neill. When it comes to 'Fantasy Football' I've often wondered the outcome of Wimbledon's Crazy Gang v our Alehouse. McGrath v 'Fash the Bash', and O'Neill & Fisher doing combat with Vinnie Jones & Dennis Wise in midfield.
  18. Ditto ... good name. Hope you have a good Saintsfest p1ss up, Saints shirts and leiderhosens, not sure how they go together.
  19. I think he's found John McGrath's old shorts.
  20. hive
  21. Thought it was internet purchase only
  22. Just googled Alf Charles - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alf_Charles - inside forward, 1937.
  23. Didn't Saints have a black GK, possibly in the 1920's, Alf Charles ?
  24. Yes, I meant David Hughes.
  25. Didn't we have a young midfield player, Paul Hughes who scored either on his debut or after only a couple of games, possibly when Alan Ball was our manager ? Then injured and disappeared.
