Was hoping Arsenal might also be in for him to up the bidding war but it seems unlikely. In the past I've been of the view we should avoid dealing with Spurs but if we did have to consider any bid from them our starting point should be that Trippier is part of any deal.

Didn't se the first half, but from what I saw of the second it appeared that Sterling had borrowed the clown shoes that Wellbeck normally plays in for England. We looked a bit ponderous going forward, and I couldn't understand the comentator salivating at Wooney's effort bringing about a 'great save'. Lamber a couple of seasons ago would have put that into the corner out of his reach. As for the equaliser, there was some inevitability to that as our team went 'backwards' inviting the cross, and looping header. Vardy should have been on at some point to stretch the Russian defence, but no ,Wilshere and Millner !!

Schmidt is not without his moments though: http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11891/10179498/bayer-leverkusen-coach-roger-schmidt-banned-for-five-games

Same sentiment as about 99% of posters on here as well at the time though.

Before Adkins the last British managers we employed were: Pardew - sacked, but something behind the scenes was not right. One rumour went he went to newcastle was that he & Ashley had hatched the possibility of him going there in pre-season (whilst still on our payroll). Burley - hic !! turned out to be crap 'arry - say no more about British managers being more loyal. Adkins - perhaps woulsd have remained loyal, but not given the chance of course. I'd like to agree with Lawrie and would prefer an English manager, but are there any real contenders with suitable experience ? Howe has one year in the top division, Rowell no top flight experience. No surprise we cast the net wider is it ?

Didn't we play his team , Leverkusen, in a friendly a couple of years ago?
-
Don't think its unfair to say relegation is not a good season by any stretch of the imagination. Doesn't mean he's a bad manager though. Strachan had been relegated before joining us, not a bad manager for us though was he ? Poch was sacked,as was Lawrie (although not in his last job) before coming to Saints.

Further read on Paco Jemez: http://statsbomb.com/2016/02/the-fascinating-nature-of-paco-jemez/ And with some remarkable prescience & foresight the article includes this:
-
Roger Schmidt interview: Just to wile away a few minutes.
-
One of them doesn't measure up for the job though. ie he's no 'measure- schmidt' !!
-
Yes - impressed by the presentation of both last night, certainly for more senior roles rather than the leadership of their parties. Stugeon always puts forward her case fully, and in many ways you wish you had someone like her arguing on yopur side. Shame that I just can't agree with much that comes out of her mouth. No 'heavyweights' from the opposition to face up to him then ?
-
Anything much younger though and some might label them "inexperienced", ie Howe, & Silva. AVB is perhaps the exception to this as still young, but quite experienced (certainly experienced of getting the sack).
-
Wengers's previous job was in Japan prior to Arsenal.
-
As was Strachan immediately before he joined us. But yes, its always a worry. On the other hand when a potential name is put forward having won their leagues (FDB , Marco Silva) they are dismissed having won titles in tin pot leagues with big clubs.

With Simon Clifford as Director of Football. Ideal.

Angela Eagle ? Didn't realise Stuart Ripley had a sex change.
-
Tuchel was unavailable two years ago because he was on a years 'garden leave' after resigning from Mainz. Not that he's going to leave Dortmund for us though.
-
Home - thats pretty standard fare, but could do a lot worse. Away - dreadful, reminiscent of the last Cortese away strip which made us look like a team if vicars. This is hideous.

Be interesting to see how well our rsearching on coaches is, and how advanced it is. I think we've been caught out by this, expecting RK to stay, and the 'back box' on coaches (or at least 5 or 6 up and coming coaches' as talked about in 2014) is not as advanced as we'd like.

Disagree - Koeman carried far more weight as a name, probably largely due to his status as a player.
-
Better log onto one of their forums and tell them. Do also mention how long you've worked for the same employer whilst your at it.
-
Don't mention that c^nt; another reason to hate them. Poor skates they've now fallen to third in the hate ratings, behind the yids, and Everton.
