Bit in bold amused me... and underlined just how you lot are beyond belief in your sense of self importance. Other than that your post was 24ct w^nk. Yes, you'd have to be retired to have the time and inclination to tap out such drivel. Wow - first club to wear shirt numbers, no doubt that was mentioned in negotiations with Koeman. How could he resist you lot after that, almost felt he was touvching history no doubt. (Personally I prefer the Shankly quote about (goalkeepers) wearing shirt numbers. So as usual your overshadowed by your more illustious neighbours. Anyway, enjoy the rest of your retirement.

Why undesirable ? What's your take on French managers mentioned or out of the French league ?
-
No track record of note at club level though.
-
As some on here are trying to show themselves to be about RK. Not sure that is such a guide to go on.
-
What, negotiating with Lazio ?
-
You can recruit our manager, possibly even sign a couple of our players. Not much consolation for having to go through life with an accent like the majority of your fans though. Ta-ra .

In the sense of disappointment, or possibly being ushered to the door ?

Perhaps you weren't at Highbury in 1984 then ? The "next step" might have been an Arsenal, or Liverpool.. but don't think he's taken the massive career step, although his bank manager and Mrs Koeman's shopping account will see it that he has.

Paying him, Erwin & the other bloke a years salary for gardening leave is still a fraction of what we paid Osvaldo for the square root of f^ck all in return. I'd like to see us force this issue. If Everton want him then he goes on our terms, or not at all. What happens then at St Mary's is a different matter of course.

Yes - Ted & Lawrie, two managers spanning nearly 30 years. 24 managers over the next 30 (including temporary).
-
Quite amusing, but possibly a bit unfair. I doubt Mrs Howe would begrudge him turning left out of his drive in Verwood or wherever to head to Staplewood, rather than left to AFCB of a morning. Whether he is ready for it is another matter. Erwin - I've also wondered this although his track record isn't great reading on Wikipedia.

Possibly because our tendency has been for younger managers, and we might be looking for someone to buy into the 5 year plan ?
-
If we appoint Pellegrini then it tends to show that Saints were not as fully prepared for this eventuality as some have suggested. Or possibly that the Les Reed 'black box' of monitoring 5/6 up and coming coaches is not functioning as it used to. As another thought on Pelligrini, could he be a steady hand in overseeing a younger coach coming in ? I doubt Howe would work under such a set up, but perhaps another foreign coach (seen the name Marco Silva mentioned a couple of times for example, good but limited track record, too soon to let loose in the EPL ?). Just a thought.

Agree with you, and I have previously asked much the same about FDB . On the Foreign managers thread I wrote Part of the attraction of FDB seems to be his connection with Ajax and their traditions of bringing players through and style of football. To what extent he brings that with him I don't know. I'm certainly not convinced by winning four titles in the Dutch league alone. I have been hoping some of the Dutch posters might give him a glowing refeerence but from what I've seen they've been pretty lukewarm on him. Doesn't make AVB anymore of an attractive option though.

Style of football is still a concern though isn't it?
-
No doubt if we had FDB & Bergkamp working at Saints I expect Arsenal wil just see it as us roadtesting their next management team for them. Actually we should ask Arsenal to subsidise their wages for a couple of years. Not sure Benali would be delighted to see Bergkamp at the club though. Think they had numerous run ins over the years.

Bit of a centre parting there. If thats one of the qualities we're looking for then Roger Schmidt could get a look in. Some photos have the makings of a psycopathic Bond villain.
-
I expect Adam is just tweeting the club line for them. Good point, would like to know the split of those pleased by the departure and not. But we never will.
-
In most photos I've seen of FDB he looks a miserable bastard looking out from under a furrowed brow. If thats from the stress of managing Ajax winning four titles I'm not sure he'd cope with us.
-
Agree that perhaps some our board should adopt a more robust approach in telling certain clubs to f^ck off but don't accept critiscism of our owner who has been behind 6/7 years of continual growth. I'd rather have that approach than some Arab c^nt just trying to 'buy it' by throwing silly money at it. I think Pompey tried that approach. And Leeds. Anyway, haven't you got a vigil to attend, go light some candles for something ?

not an easy mistake to make !

What marks FDB out though as such a good prospect for us, and what is his style of play ? Strange to me that he has twice now (at least) openly touted himself for a job in England (spurs & Everton), and on both times he's been overlooked, by raiding our manager as well as it happens. Read elsewhere that Emery doesn't speak English. Wonder what Poch's old translator is up to now.
