This has previously been reported in the UK press as a likely move after the WC. I expect RK will make an enquiry, but if mancs are interested then we're buggered. Hope he has a bust up with Van Gaal in the next couple of weeks !! Or perhaps we'll pursue Van Dyke instead.

That is something we'll never really know. Personally, I suspect the owners 'request' to take an interest in events, and seeking some greater accountability was also a sticking point.

I'm glad to see someone else making these comparisons. For all the big talk, NC was just frittering someone else's money and legacy. No wonder KL wanted to take an interest. We should be thankful she didn't just pull the plug, leaving the club to whither. We have a lot to be grateful to the Liebherr family, and I hope they maintain their interest in the club for years. So no, I do not want KL to sell, but I am concerned about the 'advisers' and those around her. Whatever Reed has achieved on the sporting side over the last few years, he still comes across as a bit of a PR disaster , especially if working in parallel with Kruegar. John Williams might have given the board a bit more 'gravitas' and experience to handle things better. Difficult to conclude this, perhaps NC's demands of working in way he was unaccountable to the owners for his spending of their money was an unacceptable demand ? With a bit more humility on his part perhaps NC might still be at the helm.

We're only two seasons into the Premiership to put some perspective on it. That said, having a manager who will take the cups seriously might make a significant difference.
