    Wigan

I remember us beating them 3-0 at The Dell in the FA Cup c1985 or 86. Apart from that no recollection of a meaningful fixture. Actually I hope they stay up as both Marinez and the chairman , Whelan, come across well. Can't see it happening for them though.
  2. This is a player that I hoped might get a run this season, good crosser and always thought he might make the move upfield from LB to make an impression, if only as stand in/sub for AL.I don't think he has had the opportunity this season, and when he did,in the League Cup he did not seem motivated. Attitude, sulk ? Whatever the reason I think it a shame as he showed potential last season.
  3. Great minds, or just sad bastards spending too much time on here ?
  4. I thought Falque had been earmarked for this role, but on his solitary outing does not look up to it.
  5. How did you manage to book a skates ticket today then ? I phoned up and was told it was only available for existing ST holders buying an extra ticket if also purchasing for Doncaster as well.
  6. Good, if we play teams the same standard as Leeds and pompey after promotion, its sorted then. not a serious point by the way.
  7. Out of interest, can we recall Dickson ? If not,and in event of a LB crisis it might be step up Luke Shaw.
  8. I too expect Sharp will start, and Hammond will play instead of Cork. Main concerns are the wide players, hope AL is fully recovered. If not then it will probably be Chaplow and Guly.
  9. Game of his life at Anfield c1981 when we won 1-0.
  10. Probably sums it up for me as well. The Niemi triple is probably the moment that stand out for a Saints GK. Other outstanding performances by GK in my time supporting Saints are Flowers away v Spurs in the cup 1990 incl a point blank header from a Spurs corner, and Terry Gennoe away at Reading League Cup 1978/9 where he was immense(0-0 draw due to Gennoe). Some years later a couple of Reading fans reminded me of it saying it was the best goalkeeping performnce they had seen at Elm Park.

  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwDDswGsJ60 Sur someone can adapt the lyrics: Now look at them yo-yo's that's the way you do it You play the guitar on the MTV That ain't workin' that's the way you do it Money for nothin' and chicks for free Now that ain't workin' that's the way you do it Lemme tell ya them guys ain't dumb Maybe get a blister on your little finger Maybe get a blister on your thumb And should Brighton ever find themselves in sh!t street (dire straights even) again there is a verse n the song about faggots.
  13. Someone on another thread earlier in the week suggested this be played, although I think Wolves have adopted it :
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6BHxBbybfU No, I can't think that will be sung or played either,,,
  15. Tend to agree with you, also I fear if they do disappear and reform there will be a lot of oupouring of sympathy for the bastards . So let them go back to their lower league status of the early 1980's, when we signed European Player of the Year they were in the 4th Division.
  16. I too thought West Ham was the only one this season, but Leeds at home had one in the 93rd minute.

  18. Ivan Gonad
  19. Not yet, but if he establishes himself and us in the Prem then yes. Agree with the second point here, RL is in the No 9's league for me too.
  20. Could we also have a Saints Tits XI ? Player- Chris Nipple Manager - Lawrie MacMammory
  21. Glenn Cock erill
  22. Surprised by that, I really thought it might be Benali, or Branfoot coming back. Benali introduced to the crowd at home v Barnsley, or Branfoot , introduced to the crowd at Leeds. Except of course we can't afford to live in the same street as Leeds.
  23. Manager : Alan Balls
  24. Difficult to put them in order, for example was KK really a better player in his prime than Alan Ball ? In order of their contribution to Saints ? Probably: 1)Paine 2)MLT kept us in the top flight for several seasons, 3)Ball who got us into it, then probably KK , but if RL tops 30 goals this season to take us up two seasons on the trot he will overtake him in my book
