  1. The abscence of a sub GK at this stage of the season is a cause for concern, even if it is BB.
  2. Replacement for Connolly then.
  3. Ditto.Let's just see which division we are in before we start speculating.
  4. Serious question, we know we have been crying out for the 'dominant midfield hardman' for over a decade now, but does such a beast still exist ? And if so, can we modify it further by one that is within our budget ?
  5. Talks with RvP have stalled as Cortese is refusing to agree his wages will match Xavi's.
  6. ... and David Armstrong v Mancs , December 1981
  7. Come on chaps and chapesses, having got yesterday out of my system - or at least come to terms with trying to - lets also remember last minutes of : Ruddock - penalty v Newcastle c1987 Moran v skates 1984 two late, late strikes v Swindon, league cup c1989 and another memorable and historic strike Hugh Fisher v Villa, FA Cup Jan 1976.
  8. Wasn't there a similar incident involving Ferdinand a few years ago booting the ball into the crowd ?
  9. I've been saying the same for years. Alan Ball was the last of a rare breed though, only Jimmy Case comes close as a midfield enforcer although nowhere near Ball's standard of passing.T match Alan Ball you'd have to merge Case and Steve Williams.
  10. I said Puncheon for today's game. But serious question, if selected can we rely on him to put in the full effort and commitment required, or will he give us a Gulyesque , just going through the motions , type of effort ?
  11. So no change then as we were a team of 10 whilst Guly was out there. SDR does at least offer a change of pace, and sometimes a cross from the right when he is played in.. Sadly and five games from the end of the season we know he can not start a game. So he remains an "impact sub" , but too often of little consequence
  12. That bald tw^t is just an embarassment to the club and city.
  13. I really want you to be right on this one SuperMikey, I really do...
  14. If it is, do you think it is worth us playing our 'Joker' on it, or shall we save it for 'boro. ? (with apologies to younger readers of the forum who might not recall this). Yes by the way - I think its on Sky.
  15. From my view, I thought he could have stayed on his feet but realised the angle was too tight to score.

    Guly

Guly might not have been on the pitch today, he just ambled around to no effect. Guly seems a nice bloke, my sons have met him after games and he comes across well despite language etc. We did not need a nice bloke out there today. On the build up thread I suggested Puncheon should start on the right. I stand by that view, Puncheon has something to prove, we needed someone who wanted to make an impact today, and will do again on Monday, and Friday.Guly on current form is not that player.
  17. I have resigned myself to third place after today. Too many players seemed not up for the fight to give me confidence. Of course it could all change around on Monday/Tuesday, but I am not holding my breath.
  18. Never mind rumours of the 'skate invasion' , what about any 'reception committees' to meet them on arrival ? I heard that a group of Sholing Hell's Grannies Knitting Circle are going to ambush them and take them to a jam and jerusalem afternoon in a local church hall to stop them from getting too bored as they won't have tickets for the match.
  19. Worth remembering that we only need a draw - at home - tomorrow to go back to the top.
  20. Didn't kick in today though.
  21. No problems with thieving little gypo's parking there then ?
  22. If we concentrate on winning our own matches - "control the controlables" as Adkins says - we don't have to give a sh!t about Reading.
  23. Reading are the 2012 Huddersfield, leaping in front of us on Good Friday. Normality will be restored tomorrow !
  24. Can you easily park at Old Farmhouse ?
  25. Railway (Easter holiday revival for the thread!)
