  1. That might be something of a coup, if we signed him although it seems unlikely that he would end up in the NPC ahead of a potential European 2012 finals for Belgium. In any event, I doubt he'd want to wear the No5 shirt
  2. So why not just cull the rumour when given the chance to do so ?
  3. Cortese was stood up with his arms folded at some point they showed on Sky.
  4. It's only considered "brilliant" and welcome when we are doing well, but becomes quite a stick to beat him with when they are not. I wonder what we would say if the match were at Elland Rd and the programme had a picture of Ken Bates on the front.Yes, NC has done, and is doing,a sound job but I'd rather he took a less prominent role at the moment, Inclined to agree with: It does indeed draw unfavourable comparisons.
  5. Yes, he did. In fact I think he played part of the match away at Bristol Rovers which was Pardew's last game. Back to Gorkss though, what is the deadline for a player signing to play tomorrow, is it midday today ?
  6. The flaw in this to me is that surely any such dispute over a payment to his earlier club should be with YB in Switzerland who would be responsible for this agreement rather than us.
  7. Lets not forget Spurs did not really want tolet him go.
  8. His dressing room nickname of Tommy Nofingers speaks volumes.
  9. Camel seen outside hotel ? Slight conundrum, or flaw in the other poster's statement though.
  10. Hope Jemal does not read that - he may get the hump
  11. I think the deal has been done but we are just waiting on a work permit. ITK - from a taxi driver who dropped him off at SMS,then back to Southampton Airport to board a flight direct to Buenos Aires. You know it makes sense.
  12. Probably in his next life
  13. Is this an omen for our season ?
  14. I expect holdsworth regrets not waiting 24hrs, he might have signed Joey Barton instead. Or Joey Deacon for that matter.
  15. But skatesville probably does seem a lot closer, culturally, to say Widnes or Murkeyside than anywhere else in the south.
  16. Joking aside though, the £3m+ was at a time Doncaster were seeking to renew his contract. If they now know they can't then perhaps the fee will come tumbling back to more realistic levels. Seems that Billy-boy might have thought he was driving a hard bargain when Saints had a bid accepted but his demands could have scuppered that for him. Remember an interview he gave a week or so ago, someone on here suggested that was a 'can we talk again' type of interview although I suspect NA/NC have moved on. Tough titty Billy. Not that he will sign for Skates at the sort of fee he will fetch even now.
  17. Apparently he already has a flat in Winchester.
  18. And the skates have £3.25m to stump up ?
  19. Don't forget Austin.
  20. Good. I'll be delighted then when their education system and health services are funded purely from tax revenue raised north of the border, without MP's elected there having a say on what happens south of the border. But back to the original point, if a children's team from Scotland were partaking in a tournament south of Hadrians Wall it is not likely that organisers would remove ther flags etc.
  21. Here's a suggestion for the least inspiring,possibly worst,draw we could have:
  22. Tony Funnell ?
  23. Can't recall if it was in Dell Diamond, but I recall reading that Paine was week in, if at home, but not week out, if playing away from The Dell. Something that drove team mates to despair at times.
  24. What sort of player is Vossen then ? Looking briefly at the youtube clip, he looks a poacher/goalscorer, perhaps in the Barnard mould but as an international for Belgium clearly greater potential. A lot depends on eactly what we/NA thinks we need most, an out and out scorer such as Sharp or perhaps Vossen, or a pace merchant up front which is where most see Maynard would fit in. As a thought though, are we so desperate for a striker to offer pace, now that de Ridder is taking a front seat "on the bus" ?
  25. But he was enquiring about a let on Martin O'Neill's flat in Winchester, that much is true.
