The fact we appear to be looking at a loan CB coming in suggests we are not looking to buy in this position, or we'd have been setting the deal up sooner. That said, we've probably got a bit of our 'budget' left however having not shelled out the extra few £m on Hooper. Curtis Davies probably a good choice though. And a GK!

No, its just an age thing.
-
Sounds like Tenpole Tudor, although its probably a bit deeper than that. Sorry you've lost me - you're obviously a Sharp enthusiast, I'm only an occasional viewer. But think I get your drift on it. Like the "I'm steaming but having fun" . Is that part of the song ?
-
Not saying "no" to it, think he could be the experience we need this year, and possibly next. Downsides though, could be: age - 32 I thought he was injury prone, but stand to be corrected on it having not closely followed the clubs he has been at for a few years Two year contract at Stoke Won't be low on the wage bill.
-
Is he a right or left sided CB ?
-
Excellent signing, the envy of every other club in our league. Has anyone been on a Celtic board yet ? Just to rejoice at the fact King Billy has signed for us .
-
As he's originally from Sheffield, I think it must be.

Isn't Upson another one who is forever crocked? (could be our stand out CB if he did not spend so long on the treatment table)

"Sharp,Sharp wherever you may be You eat mushy peas in your part of t'country... feel free to complete it in your leisure

Signing Brazillians from Italy, gosh thats so 2010...seems the fat reptile Sam just can't keep up.

To tell Sharp first hand how good the catering is, even without black pudding or mushy peas on t'menu (wonder who explained this to Tadanari )

My intrepetation is that Hooper is a little more mobile, and as a couple of years younger probably offered the longer term option. Sharp is certainly proven at NPC level, and like Lambert may yet take the initative at a higher level when he gets the chance (ie next year in the prem with us).
-
Bit greedy perhaps, but yes both needed.
-
I hope this issue has been thrashed out in the last few weeks, and there will be no surprise in store for either party.
-
...and so begins another false dawn...
-
Whats the betting they find one , just after Sharp has put pen to paper ? just hope it does not end with Hooper to West Ham, he is from Essex after all.
-
Blindingly obvious isn't it ? But it will probably take another injury to KD and another BB fiasco to bring it in to focus.
-
Can't help but think Saints have done all they can on this one, and are hoping Hooper might - in the wake of failing to get his new contract sorted - hand in a transfer request. Unfortunately Hooper and his agent have not read the script.

As Adam Blackmore tries to eek some snippets out of NA in every post match interview and ends up with NA giving him the same well rehearsed stock 'non-answers' in swerving the question, I would not be too optimistic at gleaning too much .

The official unofficial January transfer targets thread..
Badger replied to SB's topic in The Saints
Hope one of those is nearer the mark than "Window closes; Saints fans left with f^ck all to look at now". -
An 80's Farah man then ?
-
At 25, age is not really on his side to make the jump, but if we sign him then so be it, he has a chance and hope he grasps it. Most players making the leap from non-league are 19-20, although I suspect Graham Roberts might have been nearer mid 20's when he had the chance. Also remember the CB Martin Elliott leaving Oxford (Div 3 at the time) for Leicester (Div 1) when 26/7 . Thought that was a bit old when Souness also tried to sign him at the time, but wish we had signed him. (or Roberts for that matter)

Isn't this a Patrick Moore TV show, The arse at Night ? Suppositories ? For what good they did, I might as well have shoved them up my arse. Sorry - old joke, could not resist.

The 5th Round Draw - Bolton at home (if we beat Millwall!)
Badger replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
In my view, I don't think we'll beat Millwall in the replay - just a hunch. I suspect the replay will see more 'run outs' given as Bolton is not attractive enough to risk key players, and nor would I wish us to. But, should we get through the replay then I feel we could beat Bolton. -
more importantly, are we ?
