  1. An opportunity for Rodriguez to show he's a £6m striker, although he may be played as a £6m square peg in a round hole. In many ways I think Mayuka might have given us more attacking options, but its a chance for JR to seize. Defence worries me though, especially with this 77 yr record for Fulham to overturn.
  2. Forgotten about that specimen. Perhaps the most hated freak rather than "celebrity". Possibly between Gok Wan and Russell Brand for the "Should have thrown them away and kept the afterbirth" award.
  3. Thought the same, especially about our defence. At least we have Mayuka as an impact sub. ...oh and Guly to come off the bench.
  4. He's our Japanese 'Latvian Michael Owen'.
  5. No. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Gemmell Obviously I mispelt his surname. Archie was a few years later, and you are right in that I think we were after him when he was at Preston but he ended up at Derby with Clough.
  6. Other than the obvious Channon, and MLT my cult heroes have been those who have been solid performers who give their all without necessarily being spectacular: John McGrath Jim Steele Ivan Golac Mark Dennis (Probably my all time favourite back four !)
  7. Jonathon Woss - smug **** Russell Brand - f^ckin unwashed stain Alan Carr - slimey fat bender At one stage Graham Norton might have won this hands down but he really has been overtaken in the last lap. Honourable mention to Vernon Kay and Tess Daly the gobby Lancastrian couple.
  8. From the Souness era. Another one at the time was Brad Friedel although we were unable to obtain a work permit.
  9. More recently, Gorkks and Buttner.
  10. I don't even think Anton Ferdinand ranks as a celebrity (outside of Loftus Road).
  11. Tommy Gemmill , in 1969/70. An exciting possibility at the time as he was a full Scotland international and big name. Didn't want to move this far south.
  12. Why would we need to change our strip at Norwich ? They play in yellow and green, have I missed something ?
  13. Are you suggesting he is the new David Connolly, or the Japanese 'Latvian Michael Owen' by any chance ?
  14. Totally agree on your points regarding Rodriguez and Chaplow. Listening to part of yesterday's match, the post mortem after, and on here, it seems we started with a fairly narrow midfield and "diamond". I thought this particular formation had been proven a disaster last season away from home, why are we persisting with it ? It seems a commonly stated tactic regarding Everton attacking wide down the left in particular, but we did not line up to counter that known threat until it was too late. Ramirez and Lallana are fantastic talents, but we need some bin men as well as violinists (to use Lawrie's description), a few grafters in the middle were needed yesterday, and Chaplow might have been the answer. The second goal in particular embarrased our midfield as they took possession all too easily (could not work out who on MOTD) and carved a way through, virtually unchallenged.

  16. Agree with this. Substitutions v Mancs were poor, last week I questioned the changes towards the end of the game, bringing JP off. Today, I really felt JP might have offered a better protection to the full back from midfield. Chaplow is more experienced than JWP at a place like Goodison. Rodriguez, despite his goals v Sheff Weds, is ike a spare limb the way we have played him this season, so I did not expect much from him today.
  17. Could be the best striker at the club, since Connolly*, if he did not spend so much time in the treatment room. *apart from Lambert, but then the old joke might be lost.
  18. p!ss artist, after a long lunch.
  19. I think it will be Gazzaniga. Seeing the NA interview he seems to hedge the question "is Boruc fit ?" , just saying he has had a good weeks training. May of course be a smokescreen, but I think he'll persevere with PG.

  21. Blue line under Sheffield Wednesday, onto Everton!!! COYR, will take a point and believe we can get one if we play like we did in the second half vs Villa.
  22. Sounded like he made two good saves, but other than that they posed little threat.
  23. Am I the only one whos never heard of Gape?
  24. Having been cleared in a court, the FA charge though does seem like a bit of needless pantomime.
  25. How is Lawrie these days ? Is he 'warming' to the new regime ?
