  1. And didn't Lew Chatterley take control of one match between Branfoot leaving and Bally coming in ? Port Vale in an FA Cup replay from recollection.
  2. Ditto. Hope Barcelona give them a good stuffing on Saturday.
  3. average
  4. or better still with conventional stripes on the sleeves.
  5. Look great then if being crucified. Perhaps we should adopt the "Always look on the bright side of life" anthem, or "one slippery runway" if we play mancs in the cup again.
  6. Sleeves are hideous
  7. salmon

    Cidre

Local bias perhaps but Friels is a good cider, made in Gloucestershire.
  9. No but I think thats a young Frankie Howard bootom left (looking a little disappointed that the bed bath will not be given by a male nurse.) Titter ye not... Edit : just spotted the matron, Hattie Jacques.
  10. Even more ridiculous, again with the benefit of hindsight, is that the obvious choice to replace him,and an early favourite amongst fans was some up and coming bloke from Bournemouth. The day the sacking was announced he was advertising his interest in the job with "whoever gets that job will be the luckiest man in football ", its a great job, blah, blah. A few weeks later - when realising he was not in the running - he announced his allegiance to AFCB. Just like Eddie did.
  11. Point being though that you don't have to go on to Twitter etc. I was not in the least bit interested in the story this week in the media, and had assumed it was an old story still doing the rounds. The cryptic and not so cryptic clues in the press today though are pretty laughable.
  12. Lets hope they are distracted by their European adventure.
  13. Christ, I'd forgotten the joy around the radio in our kitchen at half time.
  14. 1.Ivan Golac - no one else comes close. 2.Antti Niemi 3. Marian Pahars Assuming MLT is not considered an import.
  15. Agreed. I really thought - at the time - that Saints under Nicholl were stagnating, and he showed insufficient drive or motivational skills. Had I known what was round the corner I'd have settled for a few more seasons of Nicholl's mediocrity than what followed. The worst part of CN going though was put to me by someone at the time as Saints (having now sacked a manager ) "had let the genie out of the bottle" and hoped we would not become like every other club sacking managers every five minutes. Prophetic words. In hindsight though CN's years were not that bad,he brought in a number of young players from Merrington's youth team and signed Flowers and Ruddock , and that autumn when we beat Liverpool 4-1 is a great memory. Little surprised that Nicholl did not make too much of a career after Saints.
  16. If true, then its a great shame, and double disappointment if he has signed for manU. If it is the case then lets hope NC has tied up a mega deal, and we spend it wisely. As others suggest thenPilkington would soften the blow (when he's fit again).
  17. As others have asked, how the hell does Tommy Fourpast/Nofingers/ F^ckwit, call him what you wiil, remain ? This is probably a logical answer: If we have to keep him, then either come to a deal to pay up his contract early, or loan him out for a season possibly to Bashley or Sholing, anywhere. Perish the thought of injuries to KD, and BB, and being told we can't make an emergency loan signing because we still have Tommy - "Tottenham didn't want to let me go "- Forecast available.
  18. Paper this morning quoted someone on Twitter as referring to "saving ______ privacy".
  19. Agree. Fans are c^nts, their town is a cesspit, and above all I remember their dreadful synthetic pitch, ban on away fans and a 2-1 defeat there in c1987 when that c^nt Foster played for them. Yes, Bedfordshire League would be better.
  20. Another reason I detest manU and Keane....oh and WBA and Robson.
  21. Of the recent relegations, 2005 was the "unthinkable" happening, 2009 was the sad "inevitability" due to a number of seasons mismanagement at board level. 2005 was the end of nearly thirty years unstinting effort. Of all his failings, I find it hard to forgive Lowe retaining Wartface, when it was clear the c^nt was not up to the job, before bringing 'Arry in. As for 2009, it really was inevitable and by the time of the BUrnley match I was more concerned over our existance than anything else. 1974 - very bitter at the time as a schoolboy, THe mancs game was another that sticks in my mind,we absolutely battered them in the second half after Channon's penalty but only drew. I've detested manU since then and not even 1976 has moderated my feelings towards them (although respectful of Tommy Doc who was gracious in defeat).
  22. Hope Wimbledon win it.
