  1. ...and some amazing off field memories, on getting seriously p!ssed awaydays : Sheff Weds 1984 Orient 1988 (or thereabouts) Brighton 1986
  2. Addams (family)
  3. Another valid point. Playing the semi-finals at Wembley was always going to devalue the spectacle of the final. How the FA doyens (or dickheads) could not see that is beyond me.
  4. Probably a realistic and fair assessment. No 2 has to push for a place and be capable. Do we need a No 3 keeper, in view of the 25 man squad limits
  5. Agree with most of that. GK's to consider, Butland at Brum if they don't go up, or Smithies at Huddersfield, McCarthy at Reading although unlike;y they will release him. KD worries me a bit. As someone posted on another thread surprised that he was voted in the Championship team ahead of, for example, Federrici (?).Yes,KD deserves his chance, but I'm under no illusion, there is a question over how/if he'll step up. Is our defence so much better than Sunderland's when against Prem strikers ? As for the other clown, get shot asap.Just thankful he did not have to be called on again in a pressurised match in the run in. Tommy Forecast anyone ?
  6. June 15th - always on a Friday ! (or July 25th so Dalek can go beserk over leaving it late and tell us we will finish 17th).
  7. As you say, its a disgrace that a game that used to be the pinnacle and showpiece of the season is now just a minor detail. I didn't know until yesterday that it was being played today, but then again our time out of the Prem has allowed me to try and ignore the Liverpools and Chelseas with their overpaid mercenaries. The fact it is such a boring fixture does not help, always better with a Wimbledon, Saints, or Sunderland than two predictable juggernauts going through the motions yet again. Presumably it will be on ITV with Adrian - rubber faced Brummie **** - presenting it, so well worth giving it a miss. All this has been brought about by the FA prostituting the Cup, and ITV's crap coverage.
  8. Stuart Pearce would not have got a sniff at an England shirt for years had Dennis' career not been blighted by his 'off the field' issues.
  9. Just looked on a Burnley forum, and they accredit this rumour as : Perhaps not a reliable source ? (http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=104&fid=297&sty=2&act=1&mid=2114828144)
  10. Mark Dennis certainly had 'disciplinary problems' and some 'issues' off the pitch, but from my view of over 40 years of following Saints,he remains my first choice LB. As previously stated David Peach is a close second. Bridge was a great player up to 2003 for us, but for me lacked the tackling or drive of Dennis.
  11. It was previously suggested on here though that it might be Puncheon who is offered to Burnley. Can't see it personally, as I can't see him wanting to move there. Blackpool I thought might be a more likely destination, to resume his spell with 'ollie ( or perhaps just too hopeful of Phillips signing).
  12. I thought it was just a human error, not said heartlessly etc and would not condemn the bloke although possibly best not broadcast as you say.
  13. Someone who comes out of the tv coverage with credit as far as I'm concerned is 'Clem' , comes across a decent bloke that players are happy to chat to.He is a BBC sports journalist, just that with no pretentions of self importance. I dread next years coverage ,the grovelling (to mancs/l,pool, Rooney , Sir Anal, K^nt Kenny et al) and condescending or sneering that we will get from Hansen,Lawrenson and even 'Lineacre' next season, not to mention that bespeckled Irish spastic on MOTD 2 on a Sunday.
  14. In my view, yes easily. Dennis could cross and got forward well. But he could also tackle and defend with a vengeance when needed.
  15. Is there a freeloader of the year award ?
  16. On the subject of left backs, and given the list of names, may I just add: Mark Dennis. Best Saints left back ever.* *although David Peach came close, just a shame his best years were played before we reached the old First Division.
  17. No - it was the hairstyle that goy him an England call up.
  18. or the risk associated with him, the FA are probably concerned by his media relationships, and that the tabloids might have a field day once 'arry were appointed.
  19. ..or Ted MacDougall, Phil Boyer,...or that Ted Bates was born in Norfolk, and signed from Norwich !
  20. Everton are still c^nts, and we have not forgotten Highbury 1984.
  21. MancU, Chelsea (Terry in particular), Liverpool, Arse, and the yids under saggy, are even more detestable now than they were 7 years ago
  22. Incredible debt of gratitude we owe him.
  23. Was Lawrie in attendance ? Not wishing to re-awaken a debate, but it would be disappointing if not.
