  1. CB - definitely, either with or in addition to Hoiveld. CF - the fact we pursued several options here until August - Sharp,Rodriguez, possibly Maynard - suggests to me that NA clearly thinks this is an area to improve upon. Although not essential to this season,we might see signings being made in order to build for next, possibly with the step up in mind. If so, then RB miht be an area to improve upon. Also agree the following as a long term option:

    Wwnd?

I'll get up tomorrow, open the curtains and say "what a fantastic day,...." reflect on some positivity and see if it makes a difference. By the time I get to work - thirty minutes drive - and ten minutes after arrival there, I suspect such "positivity" might have worn off, and I will revert to being a miserable sod again.
  3. We got seven going down from Cheltenham- thats our contribution. Hopefully around the 30,000 mark, Brighton will take 3,200

  13. You mean "rest" surely ?
  14. Just realised though that the photo pre-dates our 'Alehouse' days, as it is before the late, great John McGrath joined us.
  15. Thats a bloody good shout Ottery. The Jimmy G I think is Gallagher.
  16. Agree and its a shame as we could have won at both Derby and Reading in the end. But, fact is we recovered at both from going a goal down, whereas in previous seasons we ight have folded. I'm far from disappointed by October's results and certainly would have accepted coming out of the month NOT losing to any of Derby,West Ham, or Boro.
  17. I enjoyed watching the Vikings in the 70's.
  18. Ottery seems to support my recollection from his post above. Good fellow that he is.
  19. Hereford United into the old Division 2 under Terry Paine's onfield influence. 1975/6. Northampton Town in the 1960's I believe went from Divisio 4 to 1 in consecutive seasons, although soon dropped back again. I think Swansea may have emulated them in the 70's in the first part of that achievement.
  20. Worth also remembering that Mick Channon's goal was against a Liverpool team that at the time were at the peak of their games and one of the best teams in Europe;we however left them chasing shadows and looking like tailor's dummies.
  21. Ditto.
  22. I'd qualify that, and say this season.Should/when we make it to the premiership then I think we may need another GK.
  23. I feared the run of Derby - West Ham - Reading- Boro as a watershed in our season, but to come out of it without defeat and remain top is really the proverbial dog's b0ll0cks. Delighted by it and it augers well, I'm almost fearing that I'm starting to believe in our potential to fulfill expectation. To be critical we might even hve won at both Derby AND Reading in the final minutes.
