  1. My recollection as well. (By the way, your reply was to Window Cleaner and the comments in the quote were his rather mine!)
  2. Except for his distinctly average time at Sheffield Wednesday, and his time as the nearly man at Bristol City, and wilderness year or so at Hartlepool. No,on balance I'd take Pardew.
  3. Time will tell. The same was no doubt once said of Tony Funnell in Saints promotion season (likened to Gerd Muller at one stage,I kid you not) and Trevor Senior at Reading.
  4. Was it Stuart Dennis? I wondered what he did when there was no Saints game on.
  5. dot.com
  6. Put simply, Swindon have a group of players who play as an effective team, rather than a collection of expensively assembled individuals.
  7. Bates
  8. That is the Alan Ball/Jimmy Case type I also referred to above, but a player we have been crying out for since 1991 (or whenever it was Branfoot came in and released Jimmy Case). As a vague possibility, although nowhere near the AB/JC standard, what about Matt Oakley? Now experienced in L1/CCC with a couple of promotions and play off challenges behind him he might be the answer. Although if he came back to us the likelihood is he'd become the injury plagued player he was with us before rather than the injury free midfield driving force he has been with Derby and Leicester!
  9. A good prospect no doubt, but don't we already have a few wingers/speed merchants ? Who would you release to make way for him,Papa,or Antonio bearing in mind we also have Puncheon ?
  10. Isn't Bialkowski also out of contract at the end of the season ?
  11. Plus of course a modern day Alan Ball or Jimmy Case to command midfield. But then again we've been needing one of them since Case left in c1991.
  12. Brian Stock. A 'Dan Harding' equivalent who plays rb.
  13. come on saints 4-1
  14. Lallana up front or 4-5-1???
  15. project
  16. not working
  17. Actually,it would be a good idea and then raffle the shirts for the Help for Heroes fund.
  18. There you go Durleyfos and I can nail the bastard in an identity parade if we are ever called to do so.
  19. I remember that match and yes there was a fair bit of trouble. The c^nt who started pulling down the crossbar was dressed as 'Robin' and hordes of others in fancy dress. You would have thought it would have been easy to have identified the f^cker and nabbed him on his way out of the ground but Plod chose not to.
  20. The only end of season game that fits vaguely in with your recollection of events and "City" as opponents that I recall is Birmingham City. However this predates the 90's and if anything was early 1980's. You obviously know your age and if its at all likely you might have attended. As a foetus or embryo perhaps ?
  21. Think you mean Archers Rd end.
