  1. Jimmy Gabriel will be back from Seattle then.
  2. I understand your point about Askham, and many people's loathing of him but at the very least he has made a donation of or in excess of £1,000.00. A name conspicuous by abscence is Lawrie.I have always been a great supporter of him but find this a bit galling to say the least given the career that he has made at SFC.Of course it is entirely possible that he has made a donation and does not wish it to be made public but that seems a little unlikely to me.
  3. Slightly worrying that the thread is inviting enquiries/information on buying the club/investing in it still. Thought we were overrun with potential investors/suitors etc.
  4. Characters from Nutwood.
  5. Actually he is trying to invest in Arsenal.Their fans have been telling us for years, "A-nil to the Arsenal". And if he can't wear a Saints coloured tie then we would not want him anyway.
  6. Opposite to Alpine's response, I thought that was good !
  7. So lets have a poll shall we ? Is a 'big helu' from Carlos likely or not ? Personally I'd say its a very slim chance.
  8. Brilliant !! Her husband can select the porn films to be shown on the big screens at halftime as well.
  9. Are you sure we are not being purposely misled here ? That photo looks a bit like Timothy Spall after some overtime working by the makeup department. He has even obtained a red and white tie from the wardrobe department.(Thought I'd add that for anyone viewing it in black and white).
  10. ??? Don't know if this should be a or a fully blown :smt082 Will have to research the term on Urban Dictionary or similar later.
  11. Just been browsing an Exeter City forum and found the following snippets : This was posted on 12th March: A more recent post indicates that Flybe have had a bit of a huff with Exeter regarding a press story which indicates they are a bit sensitive to not being kept fully appraised of all things :
  12. Always thought Ince had an uncanny resemblance to Kid Creole
  13. On the subject of Jim Ratcliffe: So he's not interested in football then ?
  14. I think the idea is that the brothers are actually of the same local/ethnic origin as opposed to one being Iranian and the other Israeli On reading this suggestion yesterday I posted a possible identity for this mysterious consortium as the Reuben brothers.Pretty sure their name had come up on one of the -many- takeover threads. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_and_Simon_Reuben Should we not make this thread a sticky btw ? In a sort of TCDAGTFU type of way ? ie "They could do a good takeover for us" in case anyone is wondering

    Souness

He is knowlegable and talks a good game.I'd take issue with the last part of your summary though. One point re Souness though wasn't he in tandem with the scouser Morgan to fund things ? If so that avenue will be closed as Morgan bought Wolves. There was also once mention of Souness/Kennedy (?),the latter also involved at Sale Sharks. To put the Mail article in context they also mention Merrington's consortium which is probably the Fulthorpe thing. So how up to date could that be ? Seems the Mail may have gone back to their archives to see who might still be floating around.
  16. Have reviewed this, the name I was thinking of which had appeared on a previous thread was David and Simon Reuben Leave it to you all as to how they match the description given to the original poster,or the likelihood of it being plausible: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_and_Simon_Reuben
  17. These brothers have been mentioned on here previously in one of the many 'takeover' threads.Name has escaped me but no doubt it can be resarched.
  18. Ince took over a team assembled by Martin Allen,a fact conveniently overlooked by the 'Guv'nor ' when writing his own CV. Wrong, it was the old Second Division (CCC).And one of the key features of the team was having Hoddle the player available to Hoddle the manager.
  19. Would be my first choice too. As well as the above credentials he is manager who has some achievements behind him,and a great deal of potential ahead of him.My understanding is that his success at Team Bath and Exeter has been by building a team with little or no resources.Seems ideal. Question though, would he see Saints in decline as a better option than Exeter who are stll in the ascendency ? We need a stable and trustworthy board to convince him.
  20. Bit of a mystery as I understand he has been attending for some months now, even before Christmas ,so why ? Is he a summariser for a radio station,is he merely an interested onlooker,or is it in hope-or expectation - of a vacancy ?
  21. I'm waiting for someone to post how Fulthorpe shared his latest 'rescue plan' with them whilst in a que to place a bet at Aintree earlier today.
  22. I have been mulling this over since this weeks developments.Wotte, I think we would accept is an improvement on JP. A month or so ago, when Crouch's plans for an experienced English or British manager were first heard of,many thought Dowie might have been an option. As he is now with Shearer he is probably off the list of alternatives available to us. So for the remaining matches, who ? And who is to make such a decision ? Would someone like Cotterill realy make a difference to us for the remainder of the season ?
  23. Surprises me that Crouch is not involved in any way though. I didn't hear this btw, only the SSN interview uploaded by Baj this AM where he said Lowe not involved.Has this interview been given since ?
  24. Actually, that is a good point as I thought Flybe had already committed to continuing the sponsorship.Consequently the club made an announcement earlier in the season that the same home shirt would remain. It is possible though that such sponsorship was conditional on remaining in the CCC.
