Some people reckon we had a “tough” set of fixtures, they’ve played Liverpool, City, Arsenal & Newcastle as well as sharing wolves & Villa with us.
-
We needed an oven ready keeper in nets. Nope Needed a centre half-tick (on the basis of half a dozen games) Needed a goal scorer-nope A few promising nippers doesn’t make it a good window.

The Guardian? It was probably based on diversity rather than ability to play football then. If it was so good, why are we shite?

He’s an intelligent player, tactically he’s good, positional sense is good and clearly he’s a good pro. However he lacks pace & strength which are the main ingredients to play in this league. To lack one of them is tough in England ,but to lack both the rest of your game (touch, passing ability, skill, vision, etc) needs to be world class. The rest of his game is nowhere near that level and I can’t quite actually believe our scouting system thought it ever would be. He may just about get into a poor premier league squad, with the odd appearance here and there, but the fact he seems to be playing regularly tells you everything you need to know about our manager and recruiting policy.

Called good by whom? One eyed saints supporters. The keeper costs us goals, Moi and Adam Armstrong are in ahead of some of our signings, we’ve lost OR and we haven’t addressed the glaring lack of a striker. Fuck me if that’s good, I dread to think what you consider average.

If you think we’ve had a tough start you’re deluding yourself. Take off the red and white specs and open your bins. We couldn’t have faced Chelsea at a better time, Utd had a poor start as well. Boscombe have the same points and they’ve faced Liverpool, Man C and Arsenal (as well as Newcastle today). Typical Noddy mentality some of our fan base have. If we’re saying we can’t compete with Leeds, we really are fucked.

Tough set of fixtures, pony. Chelsea & United look by far the weakest of the top 6. Leicester, Villa and wolves are fucking pony at the moment. Leeds finished below us and lost their best 2 players. Spurs, that’s about it.
-
The only reason Villa only scored 1, wasn’t because of improvement in our defence. It was because they are fucking pony, if we play like that we’ll get done 5 or 6 against any half decent side. Whilst our centre half pairing appear to be better, there’s absolutely no improvement in our defensive structure or mentality. When was the last time we kept a clean sheet in a league game? Our centre halves are being hung out to dry by a piss weak midfield.

Being Ralph.

He’s always been like that.
-
Ralph never does. He gives it large when we win away, but when we lose he skulks off down the tunnel. Blokes a fucking fraud.
-
That was as bad as anything we saw under Hughes or Peligrino. Just unacceptable…..
-
Even the commentators are taking the piss.
-
Fucking hell , moi still on 😂

How many goals is the keeper going to cost us until he gets the stick the other two got. Piss fucking poor there, that’s about the third time this season.

What complete and utter pony. The vast vast majority of the opposition to us joining the EEC came from the left. People like Tony Benn, Barbara Castle and Peter Shaw, they opposed us joining because they considered it skewed towards big business and a bosses club, as well as being undemocratic. They weren’t people clinging to UK exceptionalism in any way shape or form. More Labour MP’s voted leave than remain in ‘75, The TUC was anti EEC, as were SNP, Plaid Cymru, & Sinn Féin. The only national paper that came out for leave was The Morning Star. I know you Remainers like to look inside people’s souls and know why they voted a particular way, but there’s no way a longing for empire played any part in 70’s euro scepticism.

It’s not a question of how many games an individual has attended, but how many times their number has been used. I suspect it won’t go lower than 13

Give it a rest, the hatred of the Mail among many on the left is becoming unhinged. You even take the death of our head of state for the past 70 years to put the poison in. I’ve actually just read a half decent article from Martin Samual, which contains a lot of criticism over the decision. Where did I read it? Mail online, perhaps the “grief police” will give him his P45.

Neither could I, but whether you (or I) like it, she’s the head of state. Personally I think the games should have gone ahead, but there’s absolutely no need for some of the disrespectful comments on here.

I’m a life long republican and believe the FA made the wrong decision, particularly with regard to further down the pyramid. That said, they didn’t have much time to make a decision, and the fact it happened on a Thursday evening probably didn’t help their thought process. Had it been a Monday or Tuesday they could have taken stock and more time to come to a better decision. I do think some people on here are in danger of crossing a line, and a couple of the comments are unfortunate. She was our head of state for 70 years, died as our head of state, and her funeral and period of mourning should reflect that. She wasn’t just some old granny that 99.9% of the population never met.

And who loved her sport.

Football wasn’t cancelled when her dad died. I understand the funeral weekend postponement, but this weekend should go ahead imo.
