I look forward to the “right decision” merchants backing the referee when we have a goal disallowed for a soft as shite challenge on a keeper.
-
I don’t recall too many people getting so upset when the first game was called off , now because it’s Newcastle everyone is up in arms. A precedent has been set and we’re now nearly 20 postponed games in. Had it been us proposing a postponed game and the league said “fuck off and play otherwise we’d deduct 3 points”: everyone would be up in arms, citing the normal anti saints agenda of everyone. The way this things spreading, it probably will be us in a couple of weeks wanting games off. Then as now it’s up to the league to decide, not a one eyed supporters forum. You can’t bet your life the posts will be slightly different when it is us.

That’s what started the argument on this thread, the ridiculous notion that the referee was biased. Fuck me, we’re a provincial club that nobody really gives a shite about, why do people think the referees and administrators are always against us? To me it was a 7/10 decision, most refs would have blown for the foul, occasionally one wouldn’t. Personally, I don’t want fouls given for that sort of shite, but that ship sailed years ago. The bloke hardly touched him, he should have held onto it regardless of whether it was a foul or not. As the great Sir Geoffrey would have said “my mum would have caught that in her pinny”.

I think saying it was deliberate is being slightly generous to the big fella. He was clearly aiming for Broja who was hugging the touch line. I’d imagine the thinking was Broja would win it , they’d win it but head it out for a throw in, they’d win it but the result would be another headed battle in midfield or it would go straight out of play. They were playing the %’s imo. One thing I did notice at West Ham was Forsters kicking got worse the longer the game went on,same again yesterday. Wonder if lack of games and being injured has something to do with it. He definitely was more accurate earlier on in both games.

What a load of pony. They’ve already got rid of the double jeopardy of a penalty and a red, hence why he got a yellow. VAR look at every single red card and “back it up” already, that’s the rules. They don’t look at yellows. Your suggestion you shouldn’t get a yellow for persistently giving away free kicks, time wasting, kicking the ball away, showing dissent, blocking the taking of a quick free kick, is just laughable.

I’m struggling to understand the “big team bias” when Brentford had their game called off and Chelsea didn’t. Then there’s posts stating the league haven’t got much of a clue and are being played, with others stating Chelsea played a full side after being denied a cancellation. Surely that’s proof that the league do in fact know what they’re doing.

They’d have 2 more fit players Einstein
-
Don’t be so fucking stupid. Something like 17/18 games have been postponed with more to come. They’ll be laughed out of court if anyone tries to claim this one is different.
-
He really wasn’t. You’re so one eyed every week it’s ridiculous. The worst decision by a mile was over ruling their goal when Forster went juggling. The ref was poor, but he wasn’t biased in any way shape or from.

What were the Covid checks/queues like?

Why was Brentford game off? Perhaps it’s their massive influence and cheque book.

Id imagine the leagues worst nightmare is creating an environment where clubs are willing to play players who should be isolating. The shit will really hit the fan, with both the Government & public opinion. So there probably do lean towards believing the clubs. I don’t think they believe one club over the others or favour particular clubs. They’re really in a no win situation.
-
It tells me we committed more fouls
-
Do people really think clubs can just make up injuries or Covid cases and the league will say “ok it’s off”. It’s not some big conspiracy, they’ll be criteria and if you meet that, the game will be off. The last thing the league want is a fixture pile up.

Absolutely spot on. Ralph is doing what a lot of his critics have called for, yet we’re wrong?
-
I haven’t once called for him to be sacked this season. I wanted him replaced at the end of last season, but when he wasn’t, I’ve said I’d judge him when this season is over. Perhaps you should read through peoples posts before trying to be clever.

Amazon have got a great line up. McCoist one of the best co commentators, personally, I think Shearer talks sense, Henry is ok, the 9 Pinter ticks the diversity box and I’d give Gabby one.
-
It’s not the point we got today, but the nature of how we got it. Previously we minced about like a load of choirboys when going down to 10. Today, we played like men. A proper team.
-
The 9 Pinter? She’s Emma Hayes, head and shoulders above any other bird on TV. Good knowledge of tactics and a non annoying voice. Probably the only one that gets a slot on merit.
-
My thoughts exactly. Why he was so wedded to it was beyond me. Tactically he got it spot on when down to 10. Looks like he’s learnt his lessons, good to see. Starting to get tough to beat, and horrible to play against. Long May it continue
-
Yeah, my mistake. With 10 men. Longy was fantastic today, even when 11v11. Saturday with Broja, and Long today is why I like a 9 up top. Gives us so much more flexibility around them. I don’t see why long term Che couldn’t fulfil that role.
-
Did very well today
-
That’s the way to play against 10 men, better than the mincing around we’ve seen the last couple of years we’ve gone down to 10. 2 banks of 4, with someone up top who puts themselves about a bit. Plus players defending properly and putting their bodies on the line. Proper performance. KWP motm for me, highlight a fantastic saving header when Kane looked odds on to nod it in. Valery deserves a special mention, to play like that at centre half after hardly playing was impressive. Left back played w really well too. Rode our luck when lurch dropped a bollock, but deserved that. Salisu owes his teammates a big thank you. He needed to calm down, dived in 2 or 3 times before his first booking. When are professional players going to use their brains and stop tackling in situations that he found himself in. What’s the worst that happens, they score but it’s 11v11.

And I’d take Frasier over Walcott any day of the fucking week
-
Joelinton Has been different class since Howe arrived , play like he did today and he’d walk into our side.
