Jannik Vestergaard - Official: Signs for Leicester
Lord Duckhunter replied to ChiefScummer's topic in The Saints
We need a leader and some experience at the back. We’ve enough youngsters as it is. -
Let’s hope the Danes employ the Ralph “let’s play high up the pitch with a slow centre half pairing” tactics which led to the Spurs debacle earlier in the season. The most inept display of managerial fuckwittery witnessed in years.

Soggy, If the Monster raving loon party stand candidates in every seat and gain 702 votes across the country, under PR how many seats will they gain? I presume it will be 0. Therefore, those 702 votes don’t mean anything (under your definition). I’m puzzled as to how you’re still arguing against the statement that PR doesn’t mean every vote counts, but more votes count. This is now the third time you’ve claimed that “every” vote means something, despite other supporters of PR clearly understanding that it’s not the case. I’ve accepted that more votes count under PR than FPTP, but you’re still arguing against that. Stating “of course” they all count. Have you found a new PR system, please clarify?
-
He’s too soft.
-
Do you think he’ll ever win player of the season like Redmond did?
-
What party allegiance is that then? The past 20 years I’ve voted for UKIP more than any other party. You know them, the party that probably suffered from FPTP more than any other in that time period. Thus proving your point is complete and utter pony. I support FPTP despite it costing seats to the party I’ve given my support to. Clearly, the complete opposite of what you claimed. Other than that, great point well made 😂😂
-
I wasn’t making a like for like comparison, just stating he’s no better than Redmond. His age, height, weight, or shoe size have no relevance in that.
-
So?
-
He’s no better than Redmond.
-
The back ups to Sterling are in the same bag talent wise as him. Whilst he’s on top of his game, whoever comes in would probably start for most other countries. The drop off in talent is between Kane & DCL, The centre halves (IMO) and maybe in nets.
-
2-0 up and taking Bobby Charlton off to rest him. My old mans never forgiven him.
-
“Everyone’s vote should mean something”. All that was asked is how this happens under a non crap system.
-
I still think people are struggling to understand what the initial discussion was about in their rush to discredit you. You are correct, that was Soggy’s claim. It wasn’t that X % gets you X number of seats, his initial claim was that every single vote means something, that no votes are wasted on a losing candidate.
-
Agreed. The stock piling of full backs looks inspired now, because the modern game requires real freshness in that position. James & Chilwell will be fresh as daisies if the worst comes to the worst and the ones that played become fucked. Same with Phillips & Rice, Henderson’s at their level and Bellingham looks able to deputise as well. For me, barring injuries to Kane, McQuire, Stones and maybe the keeper, this squad can cope pretty well with anything else.
-
Interesting. Is there one where every single vote means something, because that was the claim.
-
Just read online that Southgate was knocked back by us as a youth. Was training in the same year group as Alan Shearer, but let go at 13. Went onto palace wanting to prove us wrong.
-
We also look fresher than most teams. Normally the hard slog of an English season does us in, but everyone is in the same boat this season. The ideal scenario is for Spain to beat Italy on penalties. That will then be 3 games running they’d have needed extra time, it’s like playing an extra game.
-
Correct. “More” votes would mean something under PR. But that’s not what SOG was claiming. He was claiming that “every” vote would mean something. He then doubled down, claiming the same twice more, before accusing people who didn’t agree that under PR “every vote counts”, of being “stoned”.
-
The stupid post is the one that claimed under PR “everyone’s vote would mean something “ whereas under FPTP is doesn’t. Neither he or the genius’ calling out Weston have explained how this is the case. So I’ll ask again. What is the difference between an independent candidate receiving 35 votes under PR and receiving 35 votes under FPTP. Being one of the 35 voters, why will my vote mean something under PR but not under FPTP. Because unless you follow Westons logic and create thousands of extra seats, that vote counts for nothing under either system.
-
Tactically, it’s the best English managerial performance I can remember, and that goes back to ‘70. Sir Alf was pretty poor in that World Cup with his substitutions during the Germany game, but Southgate has got his absolutely spot on. The attacking talent at his disposal is quite unbelievable, Foden & Grealish didn’t even kick a ball last night, yet we absolutely murdered them. The key to unleashing this talent is the way he’s set us up defensively and protected our weakest area. Superb management.
-
I quoted 6 posts stating that the other night, however the mods deleted them. Look back through the thread, there’s plenty.
-
He’s not interested in England because JWP wasn’t picked, lol What was it he wrote, he’s stopped watching England. 😂😂😂
-
Well that’s 1-1 then, because you made a right tit of yourself on the Euro one.
-
you claimed under PR “every” vote will count. Whereas under FPTP they don’t. If 280 people vote for an independent in Poole, how do their votes count under PR? What is the difference between that & them not getting the representative they want under FPTP? Please explain, or maybe admit you were writing pony when you wrote that “every” vote counts under PR.
-
Absolutely. Some people should be embarrassed by some of their earlier posts on this thread. For some reason the mods delete them when these posts are quoted, but they know who they are.
