  1. What are they basing their decisions on? But Johnson isn’t exactly covering himself with glory lately. The great lady would have handled this so much better.
  2. They certainly know how to fuck the travel industry whilst making zero difference to the spread of the virus.
  3. Just read that they’ve now changed the advise. After representations from the Spanish, travel companies & MP’s that it was ridiculous to include the islands for quarantine, but not FOC advice, especially when the virus is more under control than uk, the government have fixed this inconsistency, not by relaxing the 14 days, but by advising against travel there now. I won’t cancel just yet, as they’ll probably change their mind by Friday.
  4. It may have changed but the FOC advice was for mainland Spain, not the Canaries. You have to quarantine, but insurance is still valid. Its part of the Government’s joined up thinking.......
  5. The whole things a farce. My snap dragon doesn’t need to quarantine, she’s received an email from the NHS saying she’s exempt. Nothing about partners or others living with her. The way she reads it, after returning from Spain, she can go to work, the 2 children we live with can go to work (they’re not coming away with us), but I have to quarantine. I guess the virus only attacks certain professions. One thing for sure, if by some miracle we catch it on a safer Island than Britain, she’ll do more damage and infect more people working in a hospital, than I will in my job. Still, the scientists know best.
  6. Agreed. But there’s not much wrong with the side he picked. Maybe a couple, but nobody’s going to pick a side everyone agrees with. The poster makes out Crooks is totally out of sync. He’s not on this one.
  7. Can’t see much wrong with that side. What’s your point? That Ward Prowse or Bednarek should be in it?
  8. West Ham didn’t exactly bust a gut. Keeper awful for the goal. But it’s a long season & the worst 3 go down.
  9. How would Mane have acted had we told him we wouldn’t sell for any price and insisted he completed another season? How would lambert have acted had we said no. I’m not sticking up for Lallana, just pointing out that others who left “properly “ only did so because they got what they wanted without causing a stink. They’re all disloyal at the end of the day, if they weren’t Rickie would have staying banging them in for Bristol Rovers.
  10. I see, that’s different. I was lucky in that my March & June flights were cancelled by the airline, so I was due a full refund (although needed charge back to actually get the money). Back in the early summer companies were desperate for people to rearrange flights and holidays rather than have a refund, so maybe that’s still an option. One thing for sure the Government have royally fucked over the travel industry yet again with this measure. Who will confidently book anywhere knowing that they could do the same to any country at the drop of a hat. The inconsistency is laughable. The Government advise is essential travel only to mainland Spain, but not to the islands. Yet you still need to quarantine upon return from the islands. I’ve a mate with a bar in Gran Canaria, they haven’t had a death for 39 days, have 3 people in hospital & 1 in intensive care, that’s not just Gran Can, that’s all the islands. In the whole of the canaries 17 people under 60 have died from it. If anything they should be quarantining us when we arrive, rather than the other way round. I could travel up to Leicester at the weekend and go to work Monday, but can’t if I’ve travelled somewhere where it is well under control. Is anyone thinking clearly & actually in charge or are they all running round like headless chickens.
  11. I’ve booked Canaries for Sept, Oct & Nov. Specially booked flights that were flexible, and hotels can be cancelled up to the day before.Searched around and Whizz air from Luton allow you to pay £40 extra to make their cheapest flights fully flexible, and you can move them multiple times at a few hours notice. Anyone who books non flexible flights or non cancellation hotels is a plank of the highest order, particularly as the Government are now underwriting travel credit vouchers if companies go bust.
  12. Wtf is Wanyama doing playing in a pub league ?
  13. My Snap dragon works with a close member of his family, and she’s told the SD the reason he wanted to go, the money on offer and the fact he regrets the hate from Southampton. She obviously didn’t say “Adam acted like a wanker to get his move”. From the clubs pronouncements it’s obvious something went on and he didn’t leave in the correct manner. However, I’m of the opinion nearly every single player is capable of behaving like this. Ricky lambert left in the proper manner, but his dream move was pretty much waved through. How would he have acted had we said no? Who knows. Anyway, we are where we are. Bridges burned. It’s just a shame that the promotion team which gave us such a wonderful 2 years has a member not welcomed here.
  14. Good move for him in my opinion. Thought he’d end up at a West Ham or Palace, interesting to see how he fits in with Potters style, could be a decent fit. If you take the emotion out of it, he’d have been a half decent signing for us imo. We lack a little bit of flair, touch & quick feet around the box. I reckon he’d have laid a few on for Ings to finish off.
  15. Does the number of deaths of people under 80 with no underlying health condition, form part of your knowledge based decisions?
  16. A couple of years ago he was staying at a holiday park in Wareham and used to go in a pub my daughter worked in. believe he stayed regularly over the past few years as the landlord knew him quite well. I was in there with the SD, & the landlord knowing I was a saints fans introduced him to me. He said the most amazing & humble thing a famous person could say to a fan, “ if you’ve got a minute we could have a chat”, he said this to ME...... If I had a minute!!!! me a nobody, I had all day to talk Saints with a legend. We had a brief chat, as you say, lovely man.
  17. What a load of pony. The fact you think you proved is Japan & Sweden suffered mayhem. They didn’t. Mayhem is the desease out of control and the authorities unable to cope, people dying in hospital corridors, the health service falling over. A bit like Ferguson predicted if we didn’t lock down hard. You’re big on facts shaping your opinion, but the facts around the age & health of victims that die from this, facts around the damage recession & unemployment cause, facts around the treatment & early diagnosis of other diseases, play no part in your opinions when it comes to Covid.
  18. You really can help yourself can you? You’ve misrepresented what I actually wrote, which can be seen above. A list of reasons I think our Gov over reacted, which also contained the phrase “plus countless other signs”. Simplistically (no surprise there) you’ve twisted what I actually wrote to make it appear Sweden and Japan are the only reasons I think this.
  19. Well said. You can’t count Covid deaths as the only measure that matters, and it’s way too early to decide which countries had a good virus and which ones didn’t. Long term economic consequences, preventable deaths from other causes, the mental health of your citizens, are amongst other considerations that need taking into account. A country banning cars will top the list in terms of road safety figures, but that doesn’t make banning them the right thing to do.
  20. It’s pony, just playing to the gallery. The virus is so dangerous you need to wear a mask in shops, not the pub or restaurant, but the shop. However, shop workers don’t need to wear one, there’s not really any consequence of not doing so as nobody will police it. Oh, and it doesn’t really matter what it is, just a face covering will do and the virus only becomes this dangerous on Friday.
  21. Wow Forest, what a bottle job. 5 goal swing, home to stoke & blew it.
  22. Me too. If I have to wear a mask I will, it’s not a die in a ditch issue. It’s also out of respect for the shop workers who have to deal with enough twats without another one refusing to wear a mask. However, it’s totally pointless, won’t make a blind bit of difference and is politically motivated pure and simple. If it wasn’t, we’d have been wearing them weeks ago, they’d legislate what type of mask, and they’d also strictly enforce it. It’s a half arsed measure that doesn’t add up.
  23. It’s a good job my wife shares the same opinion as me then isn’t it? You seem to have an issue with somebody changing their opinion as we learn more about what’s going on. Is stubbornness and the refusal to admit you were mistaken now a strength? When the snap dragon shared some of the worst case scenarios & planning with me, it was a horrific picture. Now I know it wouldn’t scare the forum hardmen, they’re made of sterner stuff. The more the time went on it became apparent the Government & authorities had totally overreacted. You only have to study the basic evidence, from people not following their own guidelines (Cummins etc), to the misrepresentation of deaths. The mask fiasco, the lack of spikes after beach visits & marches, the fact that the SD’s work colleagues have tested positive for the anti body test and didn’t even realise they’d had it, the lack of mayhem in Sweden & Japan, together with countless other signs, led me to believe such a hard lockdown was disproportionate & will end up doing more harm than good. You deliberately make out that “you’ve been had” mantra puts me in the conspiracy camp, making out that I believe it to be a hoax. The way we’ve been had is the Government covering its arse. There was no need for such a harsh lockdown, I’m sure what we have now would have been sufficient, the furlough scheme should be wound up earlier & the NHS should never have rationed its care which will lead to unnecessary deaths. What we are seeing now is the establishment covering its tracks & trying to avoid blame. That’s the way we’ve been had, and when millions lose their jobs, homes and good health, others will start to agree.
  24. Perhaps Pogba should go in nets, decent save.
  25. Chris Sutton & Dion Dublin we’re talking about relegation and reminded me of something I’d forgotten. Troy Deeney has in the past been very vocal about arsenal and their “softness”. Different manager but many of the same players. Both ex pros reckon footballers dislike shit like that and never ever forget it. They reckon Arsenal will love to relegate him come Sunday. "I have to watch what I say, but they lack a bit of cojones.“ "Whenever I play against Arsenal, I'll go up and think 'let me whack the first one and see who wants it’”.
