You really can help yourself can you? You’ve misrepresented what I actually wrote, which can be seen above. A list of reasons I think our Gov over reacted, which also contained the phrase “plus countless other signs”. Simplistically (no surprise there) you’ve twisted what I actually wrote to make it appear Sweden and Japan are the only reasons I think this.

Well said. You can’t count Covid deaths as the only measure that matters, and it’s way too early to decide which countries had a good virus and which ones didn’t. Long term economic consequences, preventable deaths from other causes, the mental health of your citizens, are amongst other considerations that need taking into account. A country banning cars will top the list in terms of road safety figures, but that doesn’t make banning them the right thing to do.

It’s pony, just playing to the gallery. The virus is so dangerous you need to wear a mask in shops, not the pub or restaurant, but the shop. However, shop workers don’t need to wear one, there’s not really any consequence of not doing so as nobody will police it. Oh, and it doesn’t really matter what it is, just a face covering will do and the virus only becomes this dangerous on Friday.

Wow Forest, what a bottle job. 5 goal swing, home to stoke & blew it.
-
Me too. If I have to wear a mask I will, it’s not a die in a ditch issue. It’s also out of respect for the shop workers who have to deal with enough twats without another one refusing to wear a mask. However, it’s totally pointless, won’t make a blind bit of difference and is politically motivated pure and simple. If it wasn’t, we’d have been wearing them weeks ago, they’d legislate what type of mask, and they’d also strictly enforce it. It’s a half arsed measure that doesn’t add up.

It’s a good job my wife shares the same opinion as me then isn’t it? You seem to have an issue with somebody changing their opinion as we learn more about what’s going on. Is stubbornness and the refusal to admit you were mistaken now a strength? When the snap dragon shared some of the worst case scenarios & planning with me, it was a horrific picture. Now I know it wouldn’t scare the forum hardmen, they’re made of sterner stuff. The more the time went on it became apparent the Government & authorities had totally overreacted. You only have to study the basic evidence, from people not following their own guidelines (Cummins etc), to the misrepresentation of deaths. The mask fiasco, the lack of spikes after beach visits & marches, the fact that the SD’s work colleagues have tested positive for the anti body test and didn’t even realise they’d had it, the lack of mayhem in Sweden & Japan, together with countless other signs, led me to believe such a hard lockdown was disproportionate & will end up doing more harm than good. You deliberately make out that “you’ve been had” mantra puts me in the conspiracy camp, making out that I believe it to be a hoax. The way we’ve been had is the Government covering its arse. There was no need for such a harsh lockdown, I’m sure what we have now would have been sufficient, the furlough scheme should be wound up earlier & the NHS should never have rationed its care which will lead to unnecessary deaths. What we are seeing now is the establishment covering its tracks & trying to avoid blame. That’s the way we’ve been had, and when millions lose their jobs, homes and good health, others will start to agree.

Perhaps Pogba should go in nets, decent save.

Chris Sutton & Dion Dublin we’re talking about relegation and reminded me of something I’d forgotten. Troy Deeney has in the past been very vocal about arsenal and their “softness”. Different manager but many of the same players. Both ex pros reckon footballers dislike shit like that and never ever forget it. They reckon Arsenal will love to relegate him come Sunday. "I have to watch what I say, but they lack a bit of cojones.“ "Whenever I play against Arsenal, I'll go up and think 'let me whack the first one and see who wants it’”.

Their inept performance against West Ham has more to do with it than that.

I thought it was Johnny Winter with a hair cut.

Why does that cockwomble on sky keep going on about Boscombe having scored more goals than Watford? It doesn’t make a blind bit of difference, Boscombe & Watford can’t finish level on points & goal difference.

He’s not unemployed.

I know of 3 health care professionals who tested positive for it. One was mildly ill, but the other 2 didn’t have a clue they’d even had it until the anti body test came back positive. My father in law tested positive and died from it. He was early 90’s and in poor health. That said, Bangkok is not too far wide of the mark. Accurate reporting of deaths is an important part of managing this and the figures appear to be totally random. If it’s true that anyone who has tested positive is recorded as a Covid death regardless, heads should roll. If preventable deaths are occurring because of the misguided policy of prioritising Covid over everything else, then very senior people should be held to account. If you’re going to trash the economy, ration the health service & frighten the general population half to death, you need clear statistical evidence and reliable facts as justification. Without it, a tsunami of anger is going to wash the establishment & Government away.

Fuck me, Roy Keane must be blowing a gasket. Shocking 2 goals for the keeper, useless
-
Watford only need a point now. Whereas had Boscombe drawn today & then beat Everton , they’d have needed to beat one of city or arsenal. Watford could even lose both, and stay up on goal difference despite Boscombe beating Everton. The 0 points also gives Villa a sniff as well.

Feared for us when I saw Vestergaard in the line up, but by and large he did ok. Although I still can get over the amount of times he’s outjumped. Both full backs excellent again, keeper looked solid as well. Should have been done & dusted earlier, but the VAR call funny as fuck. Don’t like penalties like that, I know it’s the modern way, but I prefer they pick a spot and drive the ball into it. If the keeper makes a great save, so be it.

Jose giving Brenda a lesson.

Living down here the past 25 years, I want them to go down. I never used to get stick, most of them respectful of Saints. Redknapp & promotion changed all that, now it’s scummers this & scummers that. Will feel sorry for one or 2 but most of their support have 2 teams. The decent lads I know have this thing about Shane Long, convinced he’ll always score against them. Don’t know if this is backed up with facts, but without Ake he could unsettle their back 4 with Ings to capitalise.
-
I’d echo the general consensus on here. Attitude & work rate no problem, just a lack of quality & awareness at crucial times. Mid table player, may just scrape into a top club as a squad player, but wouldn’t start important games. Over plays the “look how much I care” card for me. Fronts up for interviews after poor performances, but that’s more to do with absolving himself of blame than anything else imo. Based on absolutely nothing, I imagine he’s a bit of a creep, managers pet type.
-
The best , clearly Ings. The centre half pairing comes into the best category, as does Bertrands form post Leicester. As for worst, I prefer disappointing. Gunn has been disappointing , as has the failure of Valery to push on. Boufal always disappoints, so no change there and Vestergaard has been woeful. Adams has shown glimpses, but is in this category . Ditto with Obafemi.

This is scandalous. Firstly, that PHE are actually counting deaths like this and secondly, that Hancock didn’t know. I’m sure there’s plenty more stuff like this, whether it comes out will depend on the nature of the enquiry & it’s remit. I’d imagine the establishment will be preparing for the whitewash variety .

I think it’s his lame attempt at a joke.

Let’s hope Pearson really gets into them in the dressing room and they make a game of it.
-
That Everton equaliser last night looks even more of a killer for Villa now. It’s Bournemouth’s to chuck away now. 2 mid table teams with nothing to play for left & only 3 points adrift. They’d have bitten your hand off for that 2 weeks ago. I just hope our players really are up for it, & it’s not just talk.
