  1. This rather contradicts Soggy’s “far right” narrative. Lord Ashcroft poll of 2019 Tory voters, who aren’t voting Tory. Only 11% say they agree that they have moved too far to the right.
  2. Raynor is the long term leader id want if I was a labour supporter. Starmer is such a stuffed shirt. “My dad will be turning in his grave” FFS people weren’t laughing at your dad’s job, they were laughing at you shoehorning it into every conversation. Give me strength these are without doubt the 3 most useless party leaders I can remember at any election. Davey is a fucking moron, pound shop Boris with his clown act & Sunak is running the worst election campaign in history, after calling an election when he didn’t need to. No wonder Nigel is enjoying himself, the other 3 are ocean going duds. I don’t know about Starmers dad but Maggie, Harold Wilson & paddy Ashdown will be turning in their graves.
  3. It’s horse pony designed to frighten people away from Nigel. Once he passes a majority of 30 Starmer can pretty much do what he wants. Labour in Government tend to be more loyal & tribal than the modern Tory party, so once he doesn’t need the votes of the “Corbyn” wing, he’s got a “super majority “ anyway. It doesn’t mater if it’s 300 or 60. He’ll get everything through parliament he wants.
  4. You make a great point. We live in a grammar area. I have 4 kids, 2 went to grammar 2 didn’t. The confidence & social skills of the 2 that did far outweigh the 2 didn’t. They’ve all ended up ok ( because of the snap dragon) but the 2 that went to Grammar seem to have an inner belief the other 2 don’t .
  5. I’m calling pony on this one.
  6. Thats funny because I had the exact opposite with one of my kids. He hated school & was pretty poor academically. He told the careers teacher he wanted to be an airline pilot & therefore came home with a load of information. He was about 13/14 at time, in all the bottom groups. At the next parents evening I kicked off at them, asking why careers advice couldn’t be more realistic. All off a sudden I’m the bad guy for “not believing in him”. He ended up a marine engineer, working on high end boats, which he loves. We still laugh at it now, if only I’d believed in him, he’d be flying Dreamliners.
  7. If you achieve the same as a privately educated rich kid, then clearly you’ve done it a harder way & had to work harder. BUT that doesn’t make him any less of a person or deserving of criticism. It’s about authenticity. What’s wrong with Sunak saying “I had an easy upbringing because of my parents hard work”. Only a class warrior fuck wit would have an issue with that. It certainly happened to me. never known hunger or poverty, whereas my father grew up with a disabled Dad before the welfare state existed, so did. It’s funny because him & my Gran spent years wanting people to think they were middle class and not poor, whereas nowadays politicians want people to think they were.
  8. I don’t understand why these politicians have to pretend they’ve had it tough. Sunak is making a fool of himself, but he’s not the first one. It’s been going on for years. Im reading a biography of Churchill at the moment, without doubt the political figure that connected with the masses more than any other. But he didn’t dial a telephone number himself until he was 74, took his man servant to the front line when in the cavalry, revived a wedding present from the king & never cooked a meal in his life. His philosophy was that he was going to use his vast privilege to fight for ordinary people. He fell out with most of his peers when crossing the house & helping curtail the Lords influence, way before his WW2 stuff. Sunaks got a great back story immigrant parents doing so well that they can send their child to private school and ensure he’ll never go without. What’s wrong with that narrative, it’s a great British story. Trying to shoehorn a false narrative into it takes us all for fools. Mind you Starmer is pushing the envelop on that himself, he’s a middle class bloke (not that there’s anything wrong with that). It’s not just politics, music is the same. Middle class Grammar school boys Rolling Stones, Pete Townsend & John Lennon the only middle class member of The Beatles singing “a working class hero, is something to be” . It’s not your fault your born poor, and it’s not your fault your born wealthy, just cut out the pony and people will accept you for what you are.
  9. They seem incapable of understanding that normalising this behaviour because it’s Nigel is incredibly short sighted. It needs to be stamped out now with harsh sentencing no matter who is on the receiving end. For a “comedy” aired on the national broadcaster to joke about it is pretty disgusting TBH. Still it’s only Nigel, the hand wringing will come when a far right fuckwit attacks Abbott or Starmer.
  10. First sensible statement since you coughed up a fiver. Keep it up.
  11. Someone give him his fiver back FFS. Nuclear weapons are fucking useless, didn’t stop the IRA from bombing London or 9/11. 😂
  12. Martin Lewis is constantly banging on about it on his BBC show, oblivious to the fact the licence fee is funded by exactly the same method.
  13. I’m going this Oct, thanks for the info. I never get it right, we’re in Turkey this week & it’s fucking baking & I must be the only clown who packed a hoodie & jeans.
  14. “I was listening to a phone in on LBC” & I can see why people are “impressed “ with The Greens.
  15. Yep he did, Sunak & Priti, it was on the thread where he also called Priti an immigrant because she wasn’t white. Horrific stuff.
  16. No it wasn’t, it was a direct response you complaining I thought it was a gimmick. Something you now seem to agree with. You’re all over the place, even trying to pretend she did know how many breakfasts they needed make. You’ll be telling us she knew how many kids were privately educated next.
  17. So you oppose that Labour gimmick as well then?
  18. I don’t want taxes going on feeding middle class & rich kids. That’s the parents fucking job.
  19. Our LBC correspondent must have missed this from this morning. Fresh from not having the “figures to hand” of roughly how many pupils are privately educated, the shadow education sec didn’t know how many breakfasts will be needed for their latest gimmick. https://x.com/LBC/status/1800085493142499333
  20. He wasn’t saying that anyone with money and privilege didn’t understand, just Sunak. He wasn’t saying the reason for that was race, just his privilege. Starmer said more or less the same thing, that his privilege meant he didn’t understand the struggle of the British people. Was he being racist as well. At the end of the day leaving early did show he didn’t understand, that’s an absolute fact. If he did he wouldn’t have left. All of a sudden Nigel is the bad guy. 😂
  21. I see Soggy has derailed another thread. Proof of any was needed that the pension in this country is too generous. I’d vote for any party that cut it by £5
