Fucking hell, what a load of old pony. There’s probably more checks and balances than in any other democracy.

Interesting???

Brendan O’Neil pretty much summed it up. No surprise you’re fully signed up, “tosser class” indeed. “ I can think of no better insight into the cant of the tosser class than the fact they seem to think their annual five-day party in the mud deserves better protection than the nation itself. That they accord more moral weight to their right to listen to LCD Soundsystem than they do to Britain’s right to exercise sovereign dominion over its borders. ‘How dare those Tory scum try to stop the boats?!’, they no doubt mumble over a Camden Hells in the Avalon Inn while not a hundred metres away some security bruiser in a hi-vis vest is barking into a walkie-talkie: ‘Security breach on Fence 4!’ “Then there was Ros Atkins of the BBC djing on the Stonebridge Bar stage. Honestly, it was like a mid-life crisis put to music. He even played a drum’n’bass version of the BBC News theme tune. If that sounds like the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever heard of, that’s because it was. The sight of fortysomething Glasto people waving banners emblazoned with the letters ‘BBC’ as they jived to the music that kicks off every BBC news bulletin was borderline surreal. From dancing topless to the Kinks in 1970 to worshipping the state broadcaster as some kind of sun god of truth in 2024 – ladies and gentleman, Britain’s middle class.”

Yeah, now festivals are full of middle class tossers thinking they’re edgy. I reckon Little Stevie had a result avoiding that pretentious pony.

Why wasn’t he there, couldn’t he find the stage?

You can “agree to disagree” over an opinion, but not a fact. There is a separation of powers in this country. Any law passed doesn’t magically bypass the SC. Had there not been an election the legislation would have been tested in the courts, and would have ended up in The SC again. The legislation was drafted around the previous judgement, so the SC would be deciding whether provisions put in the new legislation made Rwanda safe enough to send people there.
-
Dear God….. The Government can legislate whatever the hell it wants, & if Parliament passes the act, it becomes law. The SC’s job is to decide whether that law is legal or not. It’s a complete separation of powers, so of course it’s fucking independent.
-
It’s not black or white, safe or not. There were specific reasons the SC ruled against the Government, and the Government therefore drafted legislation to address those concerns, which was passed by Parliament . Whether the legislation would satisfy the SC or not, will never be known because it won’t get tested in the courts due to an incoming Government dropping the scheme.
-
What was that Soogy, ECHR there to stop extremists abusing our human rights when in Government? Oh dear😂😂😂
-
God forbid, Parliament being sovereign, we can’t have that. The British nation might vote for people to represent them you don’t agree with…Why do we need representative’s elected by the people to protect our human rights, when unelected judges from Serbia, Azerbaijan, Turkey & Andora will do it for us…….🤡

Eventually it will be amended or interpreted differently to deal with migration. It’s not sustainable to continue the way it’s heading & politicians will eventually wake up and smell the coffee.

What’s wrong with France? Theyre in your beloved ECHR, & the EU, makes you wonder why 800 people risk their lives daily to get away from it. There’s no war, they’re in no danger. They should get a choice Rwanda or France. Starmer has said that people are acting illegally by crossing, so he obviously disagrees with your pony. His policy is to send people back from where they came from, I imagine Rwanda is probably nicer than the god forsaken places most come from. For some bizarre reason he’s singled out Bangladeshi people as needing to be dealt with. Personally, I’d prefer Rwanda to Bangladesh. I’ll spell something out got you. However much soft arsed lefties like you wish it, this ain’t going away. Starmer, with his new crack Border Command won’t “smash the gangs”, & Nigel will be all over it like a rash throughout the parliament. Within 2 years, labour will be as “far right” on immigration as the Tories are. They’ll be “crackdowns” , fiddling of figures, money chucked at the French, try and pretend it away & the boats will keep on coming.

He’s been saying it since 2014, said it in the European Parliament, said it during his live debate with Nick Clegg on BBC. As have others, including the Director of Strategy and Communications for the Labour Party at the last 2 elections,(I don’t recall that stopping Soggy voting for them), beloved of the left John Pilger & a former British ambassador to Russia. I don’t happen to agree with Nigel on this one, the the fake outrage over an opinion he’s held and aired for 10 years, shared by many others, is ridiculous. Farage deranged syndrome in all its glory.

This is what the rely on. I went to appeal & after about 6 weeks got a letter from the parking company saying I had lost the case, but they would accept the initial amount (the one they offer you if you pay within 14 days), rather than the full amount. The very next day I got an email from the independent appeal body saying I’d won. I put an official complaint in to them, saying the parking company had tried to get me to pay knowing full well I had won the appeal. Their finding, the parking company made an error “in good faith”. The whole thing is corrupt.

Soggy said he didn’t watch the interview, I did, and in that interview he didn’t say anything about NATO countries on Russian border. He said EU & NATO expansion Eastwards had given Putin the excuse he needed to sell a war to the Russian people. He also Claimed George Robertson ex cabinet minister & NATO chief agreed with him. I don’t know whether that’s true or not, or whether this NATO country next door quote came from another interview, Soggy will probably know, he follows Nigel’s career closer than anyone else. Peter Hitchens who lived in Russia & probably know more about Russia than most journos, has been making the same case for years. Ukrainian membership of the EU or NATO is as unacceptable to Russians, as Russian missiles in Cuba were to the Americans. Hitchens doesn’t support Putin or think he’s got an excuse for invading, he’s merely explaining how the Russians think & why The West provoked them. The Treaty of Versailles probably provoked The Germans, or a least gave them a grievance that Hitler could exploit. Saying that doesn’t make anyone a Hitler supporter or in any way justifies how it played out.

You do understand that you said their polices “just” helped the rich. So you’re basically full of shite
-
How does raising the tax threshold to 20k “just look after the rich”? And you have the front to call other voters thick.
-
“Tens of Millions” didn’t vote for Gordon Brown, but it still didn’t stop him denying Cameron a majority. You’ve never really understood FPTP have you?
-
It just beggars belief, the incompetence of the bloke & his advisors. From the day he walked into Downing Street he should have been preparing the pitch for an election campaign. This narrative should have started on day 1. He actually warned people what would happen if Truss got in, he refused to serve under her & also resigned from Boris’ team, effectively bringing him down. He could have contrasted that with Sir Kier and his “friend” Corbyn. He has a great back story, son of immigrants. He could make the point, only white men have run the Labour Party. But it’s too late now. Day 1, he needed to distanced himself, like Sir Kier did with Jezza. Then he compound it all by calling a July election and running a campaign organised by fuck wits. I’m not saying he would have won, but he could have made a decent fist of it & put Sir Kier under pressure. Gordon Brown managed to keep Cameron from winning outright, who is to say Sunak couldn’t have done similar?

Wokegate had a set of circumstances every other England manager would have given their right arm for. A semi final against an aging Croatia side & a final at home to an average Italian side. Then a World Cup in the middle of the season (not at the end of a long tiring one). With the players he’s got, the pin should have been pulled at the end of the last WC. I was wrong about Lego head getting us up, and I hope I’m wrong about this chump as well. But fuck me, we’ve got Walker, Kane, Jude, Foden who are top class. We’ve got Stones, Rice, Saka, Palmer, who are nearly that level, we’ve got decent youngsters coming through, even the keepers OK. Round pegs in round holes, front foot football, a bit of aggressive intent and without a Sunday school teacher managing us, we’d piss this competition.

As a landlord Sir Kiers answer to Fiona Bruce last night, didn’t fill me with confidence that he understands the rental market or how you can legislate bad practise out of it. Personally, I set a price and if 4 or 5 people want the place, we decide on the basis of who will be the best tenants. However, clearly there are some landlords that will get involved in an auction. Evidently Sir Kier is going to stop this, but floundered when asked how. There’s only 3 ways to legislate lower rents. Rent controls, reduced demand or increased supply. It’s not as simple of saying “we’re going to stop this”. 3 times he was asked how, and 3 times he just waffled on.

He still looks like a fucking prick in that white shirt. I played 11 a side until I was nearly 50, doesn’t make me PM material. Pound to a penny he calls it Footy as well.

Just stop oil protestors throw soup over Van Gogh masterpiece
Lord Duckhunter replied to farawaysaint's topic in The Lounge
Which is exactly what Labour did with theirs. Looked at what they’d promised previously, and amended it. I didn’t “download” a previous version 😂, I’m not quite that sad, but Starmer is getting praised for changing Labour from previous versions.
