You can't have presidents elected by the popular vote. Over time policies, influence and money would naturally favour the big population states and the smaller ones would get left behind and start to feel even more put upon. It's a recipe for total disharmony and disunity. Less and less money would be transferred from wealthy states to poorer states as politicians try and win the big population areas by allowing them to keep more of their money. Imagine what the uk would look like if you only had to win London & the major cities to form a government, it's bad enough now but imagine how little infrastructure projects places like Cornwall & Norfolk would get if you didn't need the votes there. **** me, I like London Bridge & we go there for a couple of London games, but it's a pretty long haul to Wembley from there. There's plenty of pubs nearer that will be just as good. You're right. They need to devalue their currency, but that would of course harm Germany, so that will never happen. I just can't believe that European politicians are prepared to abandon a whole generation of young people across Europe because of their ideology. How does continuing to say the same thing over and over again change anything. Failed economic arguments and warnings will fail again. Surely the losing side should come back with some new arguments, some nuanced debate, not just keep repeating the same old pony. He won't have changed one Brexit voters mind with that nonsense and whether you like it or not the only way you'll stop Brexit is Leave voters turning. I'm sure there'll be no sentiment involved and neither should there be, it's a ruthless profession. But sometimes it doesn't boil down to who is the best player, clearly the new guy is. But & it's a ****ing big but, Centre halfs are all about partnerships & the English game does take time to adapt to, it's also a fact that players need to be match fit ( that's why we have a pre season) . The way I look at it Martin C has never played with Yoshida, never played in English football , & hasn't played a competitive game for ages. He needs to be some ****ing player to trump Stephens over those facts. You can be critical about not counting away games and allowing memberships to be purchased after we got to a cup final, but to moan about the way they've staged the allocations is just pathetic whinging for the sake of it. There's been no website crash, no last minute panic to send tickets out. It's all been pretty orderly and calm so far. Now they've "hooked" new members they'll probably come out and set a cut off point for memberships next season. Will people risk calling their bluff and not renew,hoping they'll do what they've done this year or risk missing out on future big games. The club aren't stupid (even if people think they are), they're clearly trying to manufacture a future situation where you have to be a member to get a ticket for any game. They've now got 30+ thousand members & S/T holders, they'll be trying their hardest to limit the drop offs in the summer. Cheaper tickets, & big game priority are a couple of ways of doing it.
