On the train back there was 4 Stoke fans coming back to Poole. They weren't happy with Hughes at all. They did think it laughable that some Saints fans didn't think 8th was good enough. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Every single Boscombe fan I know , would swap 9th & no cup final for 8th and a cup final Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's how we measure teams What do you want, Len Goodman to decide league positions based on artistic merit? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
No, I wouldn't . We finished 8th !!!!end of. Same as we finished under Poch. Fact. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So you would rather we lost more games, but entertained you more? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Agreed. That's the beauty of football it's simplicity. Each team plays each other home & away and the best team wins the league. The second best team is second etc etc. The complicated method would be to judge teams on artistic merit etc. Poch' team were the 8 th best in England . Puel's team were 8th best FACT. 99% of supporters would have taken that in Aug. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The way I look at it is this . Every team plays each other twice. The best team win the league, the second best team finish second etc etc . This year we were the 8 th best team in England. Same as we were under Poch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So now we have facts rather than opinions to judge the season , and we can look back on this thread to see how the season panned out, and see who was happy with 8th. Facts First full seaso in English football, Poch 8th and no cup final Fist full season in English football Koeman 7th no cup final Claude 8th plus cup final . As my old man used to tell me, you can't argue with facts. Opinion is opinion, but facts are facts. Well done Claude Puel, we'd have all taken that in Aug

To think that Corbyn had anything to do with the peace process and that by talking to the IRA was somehow playing a part in it, is pure pony, a complete rewrite of history. He only talked to one side & he clearly wanted that side to win. To suggest otherwise is an insult to the people who did work hard for peace Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We have a problem in Poole every summer. The biggest wind up is the local council have closed loads of public toilets , yet as soon as they turn up they're provided with portable loos. I know why they do it, because if they don't the animals **** everywhere, but it's still a wind up. My father in law is in his 90's and he reckons years ago they used to put them on Sandbanks. If they pitched up there now, the council would soon **** them off, but us plebs have to put up with them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not for me I'm afraid. Ok player in an ok side. Comparisons with Davo & Sigurðsson are well wide of the mark. As for being one of the best attacking midfielders to wear a saints shirt, only his mum could think that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Claude has also promised to ring the players mummies 36 hours before the match,to let them know whether they're starting or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nigel was the right man at the right time and after Lawrie is my favourite Saints manager, but it will be ****ing mental to re-appoint him. I just hope the poster was joking . I'd have him running the development squad but wouldn't let him anywhere near the first team. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Abbott got confused because she was tying to get the race card into the conversation, & lost her concentration. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The only phrase I want to read containing Southampton FC, mutual consent & Nigel Adkins is " Puel leaves by mutual consent, and like Nigel Adkins is unlucky to lose his job". Nigel Adkins mentioned in any other context is a bit frightening imo . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This is actually quite shocking and shows complete and utter incompetence. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I thought the issue was rotation , now it's that he always plays his favourites. As for the side being announced just before the game upsetting the players, diddums . As one expro said today, you need to prepare physically & mentally as if you're starting, even if you're on the bench. If they're saying that they need to know whether they're starting earlier in the week , highlights a lack of professionalism if you ask me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would ask Lady Skirt what's she done to increase the value of her house. She's lived in it & it's gone up and up in value, certainly much more than a lady living in Carlisle's house has. You buy a house pay a mortgage for 25 years & your house has trebled or quadrupled in value, it's pure profit for doing nothing, yet there's no capital gains tax. Labour seem happy to tax the **** out of the rich, many of whom have got rich by their skills and entrepreneurial spirit, yet God forbid taking some extra from people's houses, despite the fact that the only skill involved in increasing the value is living in it. I'm with Michael Portillo on this one. People save for a rainy day, and if they get dementia, guess what , that's the rainy day. Of course I feel sorry for people with it, my fathers just be diagnosed with early stage, but it's not the states job to look after him when he can afford to pay for his own care. Maybe I'll lose my inheritance, but what did I do to earn that inheritance? Nothing, I was just born his son. I would have thought labour would have been in favour of this as I thought they didn't particularly approve of inherited wealth. They'll take it in inheritance tax but complain when the Tories take it to pay for care, weird. Equally weird is the Tories cutting inheritance tax , but taking it to pay for care. It's pretty much the same to me, so don't quite get the political argument Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Personally I think he's played himself into a start next season. As well as Yoshidas done I'd have VvD (or replacement) & Stephens as my first choice come Aug. Whether it remains that way is down to him & the way he plays . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I had to turn off. WTF is going on? That Welsh women is so ****ing annoying, Lucas & Krankie are head & shoulders above the other 3. Don't agree with anything they say, but they're grown up competent politicians. Farron is doing himself no favours at all, why is he staring at camera, it's freaky Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wow, weird. So you would want to see the team you support lose more matches? I presume you'd rather have lost 5-4 last night & 3-2 at Anfield. So you'll be happy losing more games next season, provided you're entertained every game ?That's not a supporter, that's a neutral . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You can't judge one season against another one, claim that winning the league is easier one year than it is another is clearly nonsense. We finished above Man Utd & got relegated, West Ham got relegated with 42 points. It doesn't mean relegation is somehow different than Sunderland going down this season. Leicester's win is no more undeserved than Utd or Arsenal's great sides, or Liverpool in the 80's They were the best team in England in a given season. Under Poch we were the 8th best team that season, in Koemans first season we we're the 7th best team in England, let's see where we are in Claude's first season. Trying to gerrymander the league to suit agenda's is pathetic. It's not ice dancing where judges sit around and award points for artistic merit. We keep score, produce a table and if you finish 10th one year & 10th the next, they're the same. You're the 10th best team in the country. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
