  1. I posted in the Koeman thread when he arrived that is been drinking in a Dutch bar in Alberfuria the summer Ron arrived . The general opinion from the owners & a couple of Dutch locals ( the entertainment was also a Dutch guitarist ) was that Koeman was ok , but Pelle had basically rescued his career . Also claimed that Erwin was a fantastic coach , and we'd struck lucky getting him with Ron . They seemed surprised that he was willing to take a back seat to Ron
  2. Id take him . Similar to Koemans record , some high points and some so so seasons . Would Koeman have done better at Watford ? Seems to fit our model .
  3. Boscombe didn't have any money until the Russian . Howe over achieved before that
  4. Boscombe won the championship , so how did Adkins do better
  5. Perfectly reasonable . Eddie Howe is their Ted Bates or Lawrie Mac , and I know lawrie left , but he didn't go as soon as someone flashed the cash . It's going to be much harder emotionally for Howe to leave Boscombe than Koeman to leave us . If we wanted a manager who isn't using us as a stepping stone we should have stuck with Nigel
  6. Ideal for who ? The English plumbers who have to cut wages to compete with him , the English parents who can't get their kid in their first choice school, the English family who could be living in the house he's in, or the Polish nation that educated him at great expense before he ****ed off and started paying taxes that funded our health service rather than theres .
  7. Materface is a skate
  8. Spot on. I would add one more thing to it regarding the replacement . Had CR been appointed here instead of Leicester , this place would have been in meltdown . Les & Ralph would have been called all sorts of things. Let's judge the new guy on the pitch , rather than before a balls been kicked
  9. I would take him . The point I was making was Crook , when asked about his Boscombe connections said something along the lines of , it's not like he's got skate ones . In fact he has, so my point was a so called expert , whi kept saying " the fans this an the fans think that " , was pretty clueless
  10. But Crook was making the point that he had Bournemouth connections not Skate ones , so supporters would accept him
  11. I thought it was Hawksbee who said " he won't get Everton higher than 6th " rather than they won't get 6th . Also thought Howe was his suggestion rather than Les' . But to be honest I didn't listen too hard .Once he said that Saints fans will accept him despite his Boscombe connections , contrasting that with Portsmouth connections , I put him in the clueless camp . Howe is a skate and he didn't appear to know that .
  12. Why sack him when we would probably be due some compo if he left for Everton . If they want him they'll need to pay up .
  13. You can't restrict it from the EU
  14. Do we really want a manager going into the last year of his contract with no intention of signing a new one . Even Sir Alex said letting the players know he was leaving was a mistake and that's why the second time round he suddenly announced it at the end of the season . If the club take the view that he signs or goes , and have made that clear to Ron , then it's perfectly understandable that his agent will listen to offers before committing to us . In fact , he wouldn't be much of an agent if he didn't . People need to take the emotion out of it and look at it in a cold calculating way . Is it better for us to have Ron running down his contract or a new guy with a 3 or 4 year one .
  15. I see remain are trying to frighten pensioners by claiming their pensions will go down . Drill down into the treasury report on this and the claim is based on the pound going down and therefore inflation will go up. If you're on a fixed income you'll obviously have less money in your pocket if inflation goes up . Only problem with this , is that the Government have set a triple lock on pensions . This triple lock protects pensions against inflation. Shameful from the treasury , no wonder a modern chancellor set up the OBR because he claimed that the treasury were too political and their forecasts " can't be trusted " . Who was that chancellor?
  16. He's only played so many times for the U21's because the better players go into the first team . Not a patch on Alli, Dier, Barclay, Sterling , who are all similar age . May end up doing an Andrew Surman and maybe get a couple of hundred games for a lowly Premiership club , but nowhere near the level we want .
  17. Not with any countries that are happy to trade under the same terms they have now , you wouldn't . It was on The Daily Politics the other day and even Cleggys Mrs , a right Euro nutter , conceded the point . The UK can go to a country that the EU ( and therefore the uk ) have a deal with and ask if they're happy to continue on the same terms . If they are , nothing changes . Now Mrs Clegg , a right federalist loon, claims nobody will agree because as you rightly point out, we would have gone from 500mil citizens to 50mil . However, consider this . You're the leader of X country . You have a trade deal with the U.K. via The EU . If the uk leave the EU , you still have a trade deal with the remaining EU countries . If you then agree to trade with the U.K. under existing terms , you still have exactly the same as you had before . Why would you want to impose tariffs on the UK , and have them imposed back, when you can have the status quo . The only long winded complications will be dealing with other EU countries or Countries that the EU don't have a trade deal with . For non EU countries with a trade deal already , it's a piece of **** .
  18. There isn't a single market in services
  19. This . Wilshire is head and shoulders above either , if fit . I presume Woy has a top medical team advising him and thinks he is . Tough to be left out after you've playerd well all season and someone who hasn't played comes in , but the squad is picked on who is the best option in May '16 not whose had the best season . It's not an nfl all star game .
  20. Despite being an outer , this is a coherent authentic argument . Prolly Toynbee claimed 3 years ago that leaving the EU would be such a disaster that the public should never get a vote because they may vote the "wrong " way , and we have a parliament to vote on such matters . If someone wants to leave the EU , put it in your manifesto and if you win a majority we're out . . Whilst totally disagreeing with her , it's a legitimate and coherent argument . What isn't , is the leader of " Remain' threatening to lead a leave campaign unless he gets fundememtall reform , and then jumping on the disaster bandwagon after getting **** all reform
  21. What is it with Everton fans . That plank Mike Parry was the same on " The Two Mikes ' . Yes, Everton are a bigger club than Southampton and yes they've won much much more than us . But here and now 2016 why would anyone swap saints for them . Anyone with ambition will wait for a Chelsea , Atsenal , Man c or even Liverpool ? It's really not an upgrade unless they're going to chuck stupid money at him . Personally, if a bloke only signs because you have to over pay massively as it's only about the money , I wouldn't want him.
  22. There isn't a common market to join.
  23. It's not about reducing immigration , it's about who decides our immigration policy . Questions on the Tory record on immigration is for a general election . Your line seems to be that because the Tories have lashed it up , we should let other nations dictate OUR immigration policy . If they can't run the NHS , should we hand that over to the French to run for us ?
  24. You really don't get it do you ? The people will decide whether this Government pay a price for failing to control its area of immigration . If , through incompetence , it allows 1mil non eu migrants in a year , we can kick them out . Who do we kick out if 1mil eu citizens arrive ? Where do you get the idea Tories are tough on immigration ? Tories always talk tough on immigration , but the realility is they are as enthusiastic as labour are . Big business love migrants because they drive down wage costs . Government loves migrants because it fills gaps in our education and props up our services . It's much easier to get midwives & nurses from around the world than to train and pay our own people properly. I've yet to see any government seriously try and control immigration , labour or Tory . The only dips in immigration happen when our country is unattractive to immigrants and on its downers . It has nothing to do with policy or will . They just won't admit it to us plebs. "Super tough" lol
  25. People should listen to this week's spectator podcast and hear a sensible grown up debate between Peter Oborne & Matthew Parris. Parris is the worst type of Tory pinko & Osborne's normally a bit of a waffler , but it's a decent discussion. The podcast then moves on to discuss the EU with Steve Hilton. I thought he was pretty decent on QT on Thursday and he's impressive on this. Leave should put him up more often, particularly as it'll upset Two Faced Dave .
