Lol , still bitter at losing I see

Or Manchester Utd are interested in him & he is interested in moving there. Any 32 year old that turns down Manchester Utd to stay at a mid table Premiership club is bonkers . Particularly when they played so many years outside the top flight . He's got the opportunity to sign for one of the worlds biggest clubs , play in the champions league ( next season ) , play for a great manager who is probably his countries greates ever and earn a shed more money whilst doing so . It's a one off oppurtunity for him , he'll never get the chance again and could regret not taking it .Its not like Mirgan or Chambers where it'll come again, this is it . In those circumstances I'd kick up a fuss and demand a move , and I'm saints through & through . It's his RickievLambert moment and despite what happened to his career I doubt very much he regretted that move. He's sat on West Broms bench rather than ours but he gave it a shot and played at his boyhood club . It may not end up well but Jose will regret not giving it a go . Shame it's an English club rather than Bayern or Madrid , but he'd be a fool not to do everything in his power to get this move

He started at Boscombe
-
Listening to The Times football podcast and Julien Lauren's was on. Gab Marcotti asked his about his " mate" Claude Puel , his reply was that he's a good fit and it's the perfect job for him . But interestingly he said we were looking at him for a while " in case something happened with Koemam ".

I'm pretty sure the step dad works at Sun seeker in Poole . He defo has another child .
-
Jack Schitt waffles on more than my snap dragon . FFS get to the point man . He could bore for England , and I seriously doubt the sanity of his " mate" at the club . Imagine having to take him for a drink or call him up , **** me just to leak club snippets , I pity the bloke who has that job . I bet his phone bills sky high

It's nothing to do with our " philosophy" and everything to do with the modern game . If you sign and develop good players , bigger clubs will take them , end of . Are you trying to say that if Sadio Mane & Vic played for Stoke or Palace they'd reject Liverpool of Spurs . The only reason clubs don't lose players like we do is because their players aren't wanted as much as ours . If has nothing to do with any business plan or philosophy . WBA have shown us the other way , they've basically had their top asset unsettled and not performing like he should be for months now . Is that what you wanted us to do with Mane , become a bloody circus whilst he tries to get away ?
-
Because I was on call for work last night I couldn't partake in my normal after match refreshments , so drove to our game . First time I've actually heard Cookie talk on Solent . God ,he's like a throwback Mike Bassett, especially when talking about a " bit of handbags first half" , together with all the nonsense about their support. I did laugh out loud when he ended the interview with " Morcombe will be a tough game , if we can get 4 points from Morcombe & Crewe away that'll give us a bit of momentum " . Put our draw into a bit of perspective .

I tend to agree . If it was earlier in the summer if defo say get rid . Like it or not , we're going to face the same thing with VvD next summer . He can not continue to perform at the level he has done and not attract serious attention from big clubs . If we make Jose stay for one for year we're faced with potentially losing both centre halves next summer . IF and its a bloody big if , we can get a younger replacement in then VvD can take on the Jose roll of organising the back 4 ,with any replacement learning his trade from him . Ive no doubt VvD will be on his bike next summer and we don't want to be looking for 2 centre halves. We've heard all about black boxes and tracking players and back up plans for all eventualities , nows the time to back up all this talk . They must have someone on the radar to replace Jose or Yoshida ,they just may need to act a bit sooner than they thought and get them in now .

Saints Transfers Thread - Deadline Day
Lord Duckhunter replied to Saint Charlie's topic in The Saints
Anyone who thinks we're anywhere near as strong as last year is deluded . We've lost 2 nailed on starters , plus our top scorer . Our fringe players look stronger or as strong , but the problem is they're not fringe players now, they're starting -
Saints maybe watertight but his agent and clubs interested in signing him won't be
-
You're right to write him off after one game , particularly as he's only got a scoring record of one in one wearing a saints shirt . Quite frankly he should have hit the ground running and bagged at least a hat-trick .

Saints Won, Watford 1.....Post match meltdown
Lord Duckhunter replied to Ohio Saint's topic in The Saints
If he was a foreigner , we'd have binned him by now . Overhyped because he's home grown . The club have a blind spot because he's an academy product -

Tadic & VvD were different class than the other starters . How the **** does JWP get anywhere near the side , he just not good enough . Too weak, too polite , what is he actually good at ? He's not even taking corners and free kicks now ( not that he was any good at them ) . He was truly dire today , like a little boy lost . The difference it made when he was swapped for a genuinely decent nipper was there for all to see . -
JWP must be ****ing brilliant in preseason

Talk about rewriting history . Ranieri was not the ambitious choice , he was a busted flush having been sacked by Greece . This forum would have been in meltdown if we'd replaced Poch with him . -

I think people are off their heads if they think we'd sign him , full stop . Doesn't appear to match our " fit and proper person " policy . Too much baggage , and overpriced for my liking -
Whose loyal ? The supporters and that's it . Greece won the euros , did that make all their players irreplaceable at club level ? No it didn't . From what I've seen of him I'd swap either of England's right backs with Cedric , yet England lost to Icland . Take the emotion out of it and judge Jose as a 32 year old centre half . He's a good player , but entirely replaceable . Personally , I wouldn't want to now as its late in the day , but it's not the end of the world if he wants out .
-
As I said in the bits of the post you didn't quote " he was great in the euros ". But history is full of players doing great in particular tournaments . My judgement is based on watching him regularly and he's a good centre half , but he's got a lot of miles in his legs having played many lower league games . Just because he won the euros doesn't suddenly change that any more than it makes Cedric a better full back than Clynne in the English game .
-
Even if he wants out
-
If you take the emotion out of it, he's very replaceable . Great servant that he's been , he's shown signs of tipping over the top of the hill . I know he had a great Euros and he's " last man standing " from our league one days , but there's no point in getting all soppy and emotional about it . The cold hard business decision would be to line up a replacement and sell. From this summer on it'll be a diminishing return in terms of transfer fees and personally I can't see him getting better . I'm not a soft arse around the captaincy ( VvD or Davo are just as capable ) so it's down to football . In football terms , he's a good player with a lot of miles on his clock , at his peak value . If we can get rid at top dollar and get a younger man in for the same money and wages , I'd do it . Look at Baines, Everton didn't sell at the top of the market and they're getting less and less value for money out of him . He's not John Terry , he'll need replacing or face better competition than Yoshida within 18 months anyway . Don't let the euros confuse the issue , VvD is our number one and there's plenty younger players who could slot in next to him

unless he's a complete see you next Tuesday , he wouldn't post "we march on "if he was leaving

The New Formation Thread : The Puel 4-4-2 Diamond
Lord Duckhunter replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
I'm not keen on it myself , I know Leicester won the league with 4 in there but personally I prefer 5 in midfield . If you want to play 2 upfront , then go with a back 3 . A 4-3-3 in possession becoming a 4-5-1 out of it would be my choice . I just worry that a 4-4-2 that has a number 10 and therefore only 1 CDM will leave us wide open imo . If he wants to play a 10 , then I'd want a 4-4-1-1 with 2 CDM's . -

Mine came today and I noticed that as well . -
Exactly . These remoaners are so bitter they're too quick to post . They need to calm down a bit and take a deep breath before posting .
