  1. He's only played so many times for the U21's because the better players go into the first team . Not a patch on Alli, Dier, Barclay, Sterling , who are all similar age . May end up doing an Andrew Surman and maybe get a couple of hundred games for a lowly Premiership club , but nowhere near the level we want .
  2. Not with any countries that are happy to trade under the same terms they have now , you wouldn't . It was on The Daily Politics the other day and even Cleggys Mrs , a right Euro nutter , conceded the point . The UK can go to a country that the EU ( and therefore the uk ) have a deal with and ask if they're happy to continue on the same terms . If they are , nothing changes . Now Mrs Clegg , a right federalist loon, claims nobody will agree because as you rightly point out, we would have gone from 500mil citizens to 50mil . However, consider this . You're the leader of X country . You have a trade deal with the U.K. via The EU . If the uk leave the EU , you still have a trade deal with the remaining EU countries . If you then agree to trade with the U.K. under existing terms , you still have exactly the same as you had before . Why would you want to impose tariffs on the UK , and have them imposed back, when you can have the status quo . The only long winded complications will be dealing with other EU countries or Countries that the EU don't have a trade deal with . For non EU countries with a trade deal already , it's a piece of **** .
  3. There isn't a single market in services
  4. This . Wilshire is head and shoulders above either , if fit . I presume Woy has a top medical team advising him and thinks he is . Tough to be left out after you've playerd well all season and someone who hasn't played comes in , but the squad is picked on who is the best option in May '16 not whose had the best season . It's not an nfl all star game .
  5. Despite being an outer , this is a coherent authentic argument . Prolly Toynbee claimed 3 years ago that leaving the EU would be such a disaster that the public should never get a vote because they may vote the "wrong " way , and we have a parliament to vote on such matters . If someone wants to leave the EU , put it in your manifesto and if you win a majority we're out . . Whilst totally disagreeing with her , it's a legitimate and coherent argument . What isn't , is the leader of " Remain' threatening to lead a leave campaign unless he gets fundememtall reform , and then jumping on the disaster bandwagon after getting **** all reform
  6. What is it with Everton fans . That plank Mike Parry was the same on " The Two Mikes ' . Yes, Everton are a bigger club than Southampton and yes they've won much much more than us . But here and now 2016 why would anyone swap saints for them . Anyone with ambition will wait for a Chelsea , Atsenal , Man c or even Liverpool ? It's really not an upgrade unless they're going to chuck stupid money at him . Personally, if a bloke only signs because you have to over pay massively as it's only about the money , I wouldn't want him.
  7. There isn't a common market to join.
  8. It's not about reducing immigration , it's about who decides our immigration policy . Questions on the Tory record on immigration is for a general election . Your line seems to be that because the Tories have lashed it up , we should let other nations dictate OUR immigration policy . If they can't run the NHS , should we hand that over to the French to run for us ?
  9. You really don't get it do you ? The people will decide whether this Government pay a price for failing to control its area of immigration . If , through incompetence , it allows 1mil non eu migrants in a year , we can kick them out . Who do we kick out if 1mil eu citizens arrive ? Where do you get the idea Tories are tough on immigration ? Tories always talk tough on immigration , but the realility is they are as enthusiastic as labour are . Big business love migrants because they drive down wage costs . Government loves migrants because it fills gaps in our education and props up our services . It's much easier to get midwives & nurses from around the world than to train and pay our own people properly. I've yet to see any government seriously try and control immigration , labour or Tory . The only dips in immigration happen when our country is unattractive to immigrants and on its downers . It has nothing to do with policy or will . They just won't admit it to us plebs. "Super tough" lol
  10. People should listen to this week's spectator podcast and hear a sensible grown up debate between Peter Oborne & Matthew Parris. Parris is the worst type of Tory pinko & Osborne's normally a bit of a waffler , but it's a decent discussion. The podcast then moves on to discuss the EU with Steve Hilton. I thought he was pretty decent on QT on Thursday and he's impressive on this. Leave should put him up more often, particularly as it'll upset Two Faced Dave .
  11. Chump .As the remain chairman Lord Rose says leaving the EU will result in wage increases . That's the exact reason big business oppose it . The supply side of the equation is distorted by freedom of movement . You manage it by having work permits , like hundreds of other countries do .
  12. **** me , you really don't get it do you? It's not about numbers it's about who decides the numbers . The British Government , accountable to the British people , or other nations . The fact that Cameron had to beg the Poles & Bulgarians to change OUR welfare rules , tells you all you need to know about our indipendance . My lad works in Aus , he applied for a work permit . The authorities agreed with his boss that he had the skills they needed and that he wasn't taking an Aussies job , so have granted him an extension . There are hundreds of countries from New Zealand to Canada to The US , that manage immigration without being in the EU . It's really quite pathetic that you think we need Greeks, Latvians & Belgiums to dictate our immigration needs, and that we're incapable of doing so with them holding our hands
  13. The reason we go through this every pre season is because we're successful without paying stupid wages. Therefore our players heads are going to be quite easily turned ( or their agents) by bigger clubs paying more a lot more money . Before anyone starts on about breaking our pay structure or paying more , they need to think it through . If you pay more money to your top players , the general wage level rises as well. Therefore , people like Juanmi & Cedric turn from a punt to a liability. Our method appears to be sign them on lowish wages and give them a rise after they've produced the goods , FF & VvD? Of course the problem with this is when they refuse to extend they're easy to pick off. Personally I hope we have " meltdown " every summer , because it means we've had another great season
  14. I would have thought house prices being lower would be considered a good thing.
  15. You can't really sack the guy for wanting to stick to the original agreement he signed , not when he's delivered us 6th place . At the end of the day 3 years will be a pretty decent length of time in the modern game . The issue comes when managers say they're leaving . Even if Ron has no intention of staying past next season , provided he gives the impression he may do , I don't see it being too much of a problem
  16. It really depends on the kid . I've got 4 and they've all come with me since they're were 5, but have been interested in the actual match at different ages. My youngest is a girl and she enjoyed the pub, the food and the atmosphere , but as soon as we kicked off, wanted to go home. She's 15 now and doesn't bother anymore . The 3 boys now ranging from 29-16 still love the game , but again matured as a fan at different ages . The 16 year old has been able to concentrate , and enjoy the game from about 5 , but the other 2 were 10/11 before they stopped being a bit of a pain . The first couple of seasons were home games only . He started coming away since the Forest relegation game and apart from the odd occasion when he couldn't really see ( due to the standing ) has been fine . He did have the annoying habit of shouting " shoot" any time a Saints player got the ball in their half but other than that he's been fine . Having older brothers obviously got him into it at an early age . My advise would be to take yours to a league and see how he is. If he's not ready for it ,he's not ready for it and I'd leave it for a bit . There's nothing wrong with dipping in and dipping out of it until he's hooked .
  17. We did it over 2 days , Fri & Sat so no problems with pubs shut . We wanted to spread it out rather than rush about on one day . Some bloke worked out the route , but it defo wasn't in order of the board , it was planned to minimise travelling time .
  18. Redmond could be good with some decent coaching , needs to work on his decision making and final ball . Worth a punt , I also like Brady as a squad player. Wouldn't touch Newcastle players , disgraceful attitude from top to bottom . Smashing Spurs by 5 made it even worse . As for Townsend , there's a reason Poch went out of his way to freeze him out . Look what he does with young willing players , but he couldn't wait to get rid
  19. I don't see much difference . Both were desperate to leave . Had Lallana been refused a move , thrown his toys out of the pram but then honoured us with another year before jumping ship , that'd make him a hero would it? People talk about Spurs , the way he's played this season he wouldn't get in their side .
  20. He was a good player for us, but the " how can we ever replace him" & " a Morgan sized hole left in our midfield " type of posts have been OTT since he left . Good player for a Europa league side , squad player at champions league level imo . Throw his toys out of the pram because he couldn't go to Spurs ,there haven't been many in my 45 years of watching who've refused to play ( or not been in the right mind to play) , but he's one of them . So sorry if I don't quite think he's the great others do
  21. I'm all for signing key players onto long term contracts , but they've got to earn it first . He's done absolutely nothing this season to deserve a better deal . Seems to be permanently " establishing" himself. If he was Dutch people would be wondering why we've lumbered ourselves with him for another few years
  22. Perhaps some on this forum will calm down on the Morgan love in . He's got to be the most over rated player on here .
  23. I don't know the answer to that , but I do know that Europeans by and large buy into the EU . This is because their leaders have be honest with them , explain the concept and generally focus on the positives . We are lied to, conned , and treated like plebs . Pro EU politicians never ever praise it, always talk of it needing reform and try to make out its just a trading bloc , with a tiny bit of " shared sovereignty " . That's why this vote will not change a thing , the country will still have suspicious thoughts over it, we'll still be having the same old arguments 40 years from now. This will not be a once and for all decision over our place in the EU , because we're given a version of it that only exists to win a referendum. The Europeans accept it warts and all, our political class don't have the balls to persuade us to.
  24. There's clearly something in this , it's not a made up story or some sort of plot to destabilise our Europa League qualification. The press have gone big on it because somebody credible wants them to and until it becomes clear who that somebody is , nobody will know whether this has legs or not . It could be Ron or his people putting pressure on us to resist selling Vic or Mane . It could be Everton putting pressure on their target to commit , " we have others interested " . It could be Everton distracting people to get their target in under the radar ,or appeasing their fans before the last game by chucking a name into the ring. It could be that Les & CO see this as a way of pushing Ron out the door , with him attracting the flak rather than them . Maybe they don't want constant " will he-wont he " speculation next season . However , it could be that Everton want him and he's interested. Whatever happens , let's hope it's dealt with quickly and without everybody losing their heads and going into meltdown mode . Ron's done a good job, but if he wants to go to Everton , he can **** off as far as I'm concerned . With all the money swimming around in the English game the 7th/8th best team in the country would be able to pick up a pretty decent replacement
  25. I fancied it today , . Once we went 2-1 up they were as flat as **** , most sides would have done them from that position , Had they needed to beat us today , they would have done . I really don't recognise or understand the gloating on here , they were there for the taking and we didn't need to play particularly well to beat them . They were flat , understandably so . Having said that , we got the job done . Long , VvD , Davo , outstanding . Tadic was in and out , Martina a liability, Fonte was dodgy , FF at fault for the goal . Don't get me wrong, I'm chuffed as **** to do them , but let's not get carried away .
