This is spot on. Nobody, knows what the FL will do regarding terms for the transfer of the Golden share to the new company. The last thing the FL will want to do is announce a -15 (for example) too early. 1) it could put potential owners off, and 2) The new owners might come in and settle CVA 1 ( unlikely, but you never know). They basically use the Golden Share as a bribe to close loopholes. There's no doubt legally we had a case to pursue leagl action against the -10, they simply closed that avenue using the Golden Share. Remember Fry was adament we were going to get our points back, so Birch can insist that there's going to be no more deduction ,but that doesn't make it so.

will the real Lee Barnard please stand up ..
Lord Duckhunter replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
Sharp is a better player than Barnard, so to suggest a fit Sharp sits on the bench whilst Barnard plays is barmy. Maybe they could start together, but a 20 min cameo is about it as far as I'm concerned. -
This Can't Be Right. Big Brother Under The Tories
Lord Duckhunter replied to View From The Top's topic in The Lounge
David Davis showing yet again why the Tories picked the wrong "Dave". -
Interesting., my Mrs reckons I'm lazy round the house, I'm going to tell her being 6ft I just look lazy. If I was 5ft 6 she wouldn't keep nagging me.......

The League can impose whatever terms they want for the transfer of the Golden Share, ours was not to appeal the -10. I fully expect them to take into account the failed CVA, when the time comes to transfer the share to tne Newco.

We're going to have to nurse him through to the end of the season. If West Ham lose or only draw Fri, there's no point in risking him with palace and Reading to come. Yes , it may cost us a win against Skates, but all that matters is promotion. We want him fit for must win games, Sat's must win for the supporters, but if we are 5 or 6 points above WH, it's hardly must win in the grand scheme of things. What we dont want is a must win game against Middlesboro and Lambert not fit.

Tabb was injured, he looked in pain coming off.

We dont seem to defend as a unit. Most sides revert to 2 banks of 4 when the opposition have the ball, but we seem to leave our full backs too exposed. I thought having Chaplow play would help us with this, but he seems to charge around like a headless chicken, trying to win the ball and getting pulled out of position. If you look at the game Saturday, Blackpool let us have the ball in our half, hense the possesion statistics, but closed us down as a unit, once we got into their half. Sometimes our midfield go and try to win the ball off the Full backs or centre halves and leave too big a gap behind them.

I thought the best result was West Ham beating Reading and I still stand by that. Once West Ham get into the nothing to lose stage I can see them overpowering sides. I feel that they're a bit edgy at the moment because they dont know whether to stick or twist. I think they'll beat Barnsley and then will have 2 home games on the bounce. If they get a bit of momentum, they have quite an easy run in. Reading have 3 tough games, followed by 3 pretty easy ones. We need to be above them after 13th. I hope I'm wrong about West Ham, but I feel we must win the next 2.

Sharp is clearly good enough for the League we are in, he's proved it before. Whether he's good enough IF we go up, you can say that about a lot of players. Lets get up first and then see. I would rather have Sharp than Connoly or Barnard. As for Guly, my gut feeling is he will be good enough. Players are given a bit more time on the ball in the Premiership and he has the ability to use this time. The Championship can be a bit like pin ball sometimes, particulary away from home. I dont think we'd be 6 points clear of 3rd in the Championship if Pardew was still manager.Cork was a good signing, Fox, Lee looks good, He's got Lambert playing better than Pardew did in my opinion. One bad day at the office and people start to question his judgement of players. Get a grip...........

I'm glad we were **** today rather than next week. We were never going to win every game, lets keep our heads, win our home games, plus 1 or 2 points from away and we're there. Both West Ham and Reading would like to swap

Lambert has had operation and will miss rest of season. (Rumour)
Lord Duckhunter replied to CFSFC's topic in The Saints
Unbelievable risk if so, that is really taking promtion for granted. -
Carlton Cole has ****ed off, commentor said he's upset that Fat Sam pulled him off. I cant blame him, should have got Karen Brady to do it...........
-
Really does show what confidence does. West Ham were all over them first 30 mins, now they look a shambles.

Pen, but they scored after, Ref should have waited

I can see him being out for this one, but if he had an op yesterday I'm pretty certain it would have slipped out by now. -
Goal, and I thought we were lucky at Leeds...........

Fat Sam's face will be a picture

Harte's dead ball delivery has been shocking, up till then.

Reading are shiete, hope they play like that at our place. Jammy bastards

Had we been taken over by people like Marcus and Cortese in '97 instead of Lowe, we would be in a far better position than we are now.Lowe was 2 bob, running retirement homes. I dont know where this "good businessman" line comes from. He was not in the same league as people like Madejski. I thought the whole reason for the reverse takeover was to fund a new ground, it didn't take a genius to do decide we needed a new stadium and build one.

George Galloway wins Bradford West byelection - fluke or...
Lord Duckhunter replied to saintbletch's topic in The Lounge
Before rushing to praise Galloway, people should remember he had some pretty shady dealings with Saddam. -
Best result for Saints from West Ham v Reading?
Lord Duckhunter replied to The9's topic in The Saints
I slightly favour a win for West Ham. If Reading win, what a result that will be. That will give them confidence to come and win at our place, whereas a defeat will mean 2 out of 3 losess. I also think West Ham are a better side than them. If we win Sat it's pretty much done, but if we lose I'd rather be 5 ahead of Reading, than 6 ahead of West Ham. -
George Galloway wins Bradford West byelection - fluke or...
Lord Duckhunter replied to saintbletch's topic in The Lounge
Andrew Neil said on This Week that he received a text from GG saying he had won. Him, Portillio and Alan Johnson were all of the opinion that it was bad for Millibandwagon. You can bet your last £ that the next PMQ's that Millibandwagon mentions "out of touch", this will be thrown back in his face. Our whole political system involves petty point scoring. Had Labour won this seat we would have had Millibandwagon, Balls and all banging on about the Budget, Fuel crisis and the 50% tax rate. I think it's funny that they are so out of touch they thought this was in the bag (although to be fair, so did the media) -

10k,20k or 1 vote. Under FPTP it doesn't really matter. They were never going to win this seat and doubt if they ever will again. The political capital that can be made over Labour losing this seat is a lot greater than worrying about shipping votes where they were never going to win.
