I dont get it. He is clearly a weak link, his handling was suspect a couple of times yesterday, he was at fault along with lallana for the goal and yet people still think he's the best thing since sliced bread. We had the same thing with Bart, and look how that turned out. He needs shipping out on loan to a Championship or league one side. He needs to learn from his mistakes, but I dont want him learning from them in our relegation battle.

Exactly the same as the by election turnout 18%. I await the calls that her by election victory is somehow "tainted" or "flawed" because of the low turnout. If you watched This Week last night Andrew Neil, Michael Portillio and Alan Johnson ALL said that had elections been held on the same day as Euro or other elections, turnout would have been higher. Johnson, who oppossed the post, even went on to say that it was strange that a newly created vote wasn't paired with another election, as it always was in the past (new votes for mayors ect). Somebody has to fullfil this role. At the moment it is a unelected faceless quango, with a head nobody knows. Now it'll be a person directly elected to carry out local people's wishes. Take my area, this is what was reported on the BBC "Dorset's first police and crime commissioner, Martyn Underhill, is a former senior detective who led the investigation into the disappearance of missing schoolgirl Sarah Payne 12 years ago. He put keeping politics out of policing at the heart of his campaign, and made pledges to keep officers on the streets and on the supervision of offenders to reduce reoffending" He has made a committment to local people and they voted for him. He will now be held to account and if he fails to do as he promised, he'll be kicked out. Before this local people were kept in the dark and told to like it or lump it. Who would I rather have looking at my local police and dictating their policy. An elected Mr Underhill or timeserving local political bureaucrats elected by nobody and running the policing policy in a way they see fit.

"the police should be independent and not affiliated to any political party" If that's the case, why does the London Mayor have the same responsibilities as the new Police commissioners with regard to policing in London? Is that not political, or is it ok in London, but not the rest of us plebs. It was a good idea, badly explained and managed by this Government. The Lib/Dems refused to allow a vote on the same day as other elections to maximise turnout and the Torys didn't do the leg work to explain it to the people. Local people voting on and holding the person who oversees the police in their area to account is a good thing. At the moment a faceless quango do the job I see no issue whatsoever in electing someone. The problem was it was hijacked by the parties and just became another political bun fight, with old has been likes Two Jags and Michael Mates standing. There should have been local businessmen, excoppers, ex senior forces people ect standing as independents, not the same tired old faces. Hopefully It'll grow on people when they realise people can be held to account.

Spot on, We talk about football a lot at work and down the pub and not one of my mates that support other sides ever brings him up. Nothing along the lines of "that Ramirez looks a good player/prospect". When Tim Vickery goes on the radio doubting he'll make it in the Premiership, posters call him an idiot ect. I hope he does well and he has got skill and potential, but he's given the ball away more than anyone else the past 2 games and apart from 45 mins against a poor poor Villa side, has been average at best.

If it was just groping some chick there should be a statute of limitation on such stuff. ****ing hell most of us would be on a charge if coping a feel 40years ago is considered a police matter. I knew a bloke who used to make a party picece out of it. When he had a few he would say to birds"I bet you £1 note that I can make your tits move without touching them" A lot of them would.tell him to **** off, some would take the bet. He would then get them to stand there and then proceed to have a good rub of their jugs, give them the money and say " thank you, well worth a pound" nowadays he'd probably be on the sex register.

There was a bloke on radio claimed that he said "I dont give a monkeys what you think" and the Brazillian guy thought he heard "I dont care what a monkey thinks".

I've had Arsenal and QPR ones that weren't sealed, I dont know about West Ham because they went to the wrong ****ing address.

is Harriet harperson part of this great Murdoch stich up as she was up early this morning touring media outlets question the pay off. One day I'm hoping there is gonna be a story that's not the evil Murdoch empire's fault. I thought we'd found one; much loved BBC star abusing children on BBC premises,BBC people appear to turn a blond eye, then appear to cover up story to protect Xmas schedules, then cock up and accuse innocent man,but no Murdoch still gets stick . What's. Next Peter Sutcliffe" it was the sun wot done it "

Living in a democracy means having a free Press and also having quaint customs like innocent until proven guilty. Why would you want us to become the type of country that names people in it's press as peado's and sex offenders without a shrewd of evidence. Perhaps you could name one of the wonderful democratic countries where peado' are named in the press on the basis of rumours. I bet their libel lawyers are wealthy. You can't beat a good old witch trial.......

We have played the ball from the keeper rather than whack it up field pretty much since Nigel arrived. It was unfortunate for the kid that in this instance it led to a goal. We have a style of play where the keeper is encouraged to play from the back, so people cant really turn round and say he should have whacked it that time. In the end he'll end up whacking it up field every time ala Stoke. If we want to play from the back, it will lead to the occasional **** up.

The current disaster was brought about because they didn't investigate throughly and it was shody journalism. The Saville one was investigated correctly and broadcast by ITV and as far as we know by the intial Newsnight team. Questions are rightly asked as to why it wasn't followed up by Newsnight and whether the fact that the BBC had tribute programmes ready to go as part of their Xmas schedules, had anything to do with the decision. Trying to link not broadcasting the Saville one with the shody poor job done on the second one is ********. I'm sure ITV asked the question "are you sure your abuser was Jimmy Savillie" and even "do you know what Saville looked like". The BBC rushed ahead with what they thought was their perfect story. Top Thatcher era Tory and the chance to make up for ballsing up the Saville story. Just a shame for them that it was untrue.

It was right in front of where I sit and the first one WAS a dive and an embarressing one at that. It was a decent situation and by diving the move broke down. It also meant that maybe the Ref had second thoughts when he went down later in the box. I'm all for Ref's clamping down on diving by ignoring serial divers subsequent peno claims. There was one on Mon and now one yesterday, maybe that's what they're doing (although nobody will ever admitt to it). He does dive and he goes down too easily as well. That's a fact. I'm not getting all moral over it because every side has players that do so, but people saying he's just not that type of player are wrong. People are not having a go at Adam, they are commenting on a fact. After 40 years of following Saints up and down the country, I'm entittled to my opinion about players, just as you are to yours.

One mistake?????? Put the Xmas ratings over exposing one of their massive stars that they had heartfelt tributes already in the schedules. Entwistle was told that they were investgating Saville, yet (according to him) didn't ask what it was about. Now there's the BBC Journo's (among the best and most trustworthy in the world) not even checking a picture before accusing someone of child abuse. I realise the BBC is a relegion to you leftie's but Entwistle has been shown up to be out of his depth whilst deeling with these issues, and the BBC jouno's, rather than being the best in the world have been shown up as amateurs. And you expect the "Murdoch press" to just sit back, let the BBC accuse an innocent man using taxpayers money and say nothing? If this was The Times or Sky News lefties everywhere would be calling for judge led enquiries.

I wish I'd have seen The Joe Cocker Mad dogs and Englishmen tour, Jerry Lee Lewis around 1965, been in san quentin when the man in black turned up, been walking around London when The Beatles did their rooftop concert, and seen Delaney & Bonnie & Friends that included George Harrison & Eric Clapton.

BBC pull program showing one of their stars as serial child abuser yet jump in feet first when a Thatcher era Tory is accused, what a surprise. Shameful journalism and we are told it's the envy of the world. Even a year 10 student would have checked photo against name, I guess the sight of a Tory in the headlights scrambled their leftie brains. Wow, the chance to have a pop at Thatcher and make amends for the Saville halls up, it's a win/win. Heads must roll

managing your country must be a big pull, not forgetting the chance to team up with Mark Wotte. Cant see us being able to compete with that.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-20270904 One of soap's greatest creations, and he seemed like a decent bloke as well.

Ah, the old minimum wage, sums up perfectly the con perpetrated on the poor saps who follow Labour. It was brought in for 2 reasons, makes labourites feel good about themselves and boxes the Tories into a hole. Completely and utterly useless of course, set way too low. All it does is ensure that the taxpayer subsidies your Tesco and maccy 's profits. Put it like this b &q pay someone just above minimum wage,we pick up the tab to ensure he can just about scrape by, whilst they bank millions in profit. Now of course Milli and balls up call for a "living wage" , why on earth can't that be a minimum wage is beyond me. They clearly set the minimum wage up as an unliving level. Interested in the living wage being different in London, for consistency I presume they back different welfare rates for different parts of the country?

Look at Bournemouth for inspiration...
Lord Duckhunter replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
Surely the only inspiration we need from Boscombe is to keep hold of the Manager that got us promotion. Had Boscombe done this and Howe hadn't gone to Burnley, they would be in a better position than they are now. -
Is this NC telling Nige who and how to play new to this season, or was he doing it through our 2 promotions in 2 years? Perhaps some of the ITK posters could let me know?

"Non citizen's demanding the same thing". They do flock in, but not demanding anything (apart from a few exceptions). They just end up getting corrupted by the Welfare system. The Native citizens bit is the key. I dont think it's "without contributing first", "but expecting the government to give them everything they require (and desire)" is spot on. Not a day goes by without someone asking "what is the Government doing about XYZ". Look at the howls of outrage when rich people had their family benefit taken away, when rich old people, after years of booming house prices, endowments and final salary pensions were asked to pay slightly more tax. Turn on Question Time any week and there will be some comfortabley well off person ( do those living in povety appear in the QT audiance) moaning about their lot " I haven't had a pay rise for 2 years", "why should I pay an extra 2% for my pension", "why should I pay for my further education", before the final QT rallying call of "I didn't cause the recession, why should I be punished". Bet you there will be someone on there tonight with some "woe is me" tale to tell. It's always the same. Cant afford to run a car, what is the GovT doing about it, cant afford a house, what is the Govt doing about it, cant afford another child, to live in a £800,000 London house, to buy a pasty, to fund my pension pot, what is the Govt doing about it? We're not talking about people going without food, just people not prepared to make sacrifices and go without stuff. All people seem to want to do is load our children and grandchildren with more national debt to pay for our luxeries. You end up with the ridiculous situation that provided you bribe enough of the electorate at both ends of the scale, with tax cuts & handouts, you'll get elected. People are being bribed with their own money and somehow think it's a good deal.

I am not convinced we are witnessing the demise of the GOP. They fielded a weak candidate particularly in the present climate.6 months ago I'm sure they had written this one off. The Hispanic vote is always going to be a tricky one for them because of immigration. Having worked in South Florida for a number of years, immigration is the absolute number one issue for them. It really does depend on the candidates selected next time, run with Hillary Clinton and the race will be open. There was a bit of unique situation this time, 4 years is a long time, maybe a moderate Latino republican may emerge.
