  1. Always thought that hat trick was famously not caught on film. Definitely the first time I've seen the footage.
  2. Shilton, Paine and Channon while they were saints. Wright, Shearer and Ball especially while they were at other clubs.
  3. I find that an odd response too. Are you saying if something is common business practice it can't be morally ambiguous? I think any commercial company trying to pay less tax is in a very grey area morally. It isn't okay just because lots of people do it.
  4. If we are doing anything morally ambiguous (no idea whether that's the case or not) then that's a very odd response.
  5. I certainly hope trying to cheat taxes isn't what this is about. Are saints really just another sleazy business trying to avoid paying the fair share, meaning the burden goes to the other taxpayers and the country becomes poorer? Hopefully that's not the reason. Football isn't that important that things like education, health and defence should suffer, so that football players can get a wage increase.
  6. We are in the realm of the kneejerk.
  7. You are idiots who believe every stupid sensationalism thrown at you. This has nothing to do with "offending transgender people". ****ing morons. A document was altered to include everyone, which is fair enough. Nobody was told they couldn't say pregnant woman or that they have to say birthing individual and it wasn't instigated by transgender people. That's just the language they used in the book because it's easier to say a phrase that includes anyone, rather than write "women and those few people who don't fit into that group". If they are dealing with a pregnant woman, they say pregnant woman. Why are idiots so desperate to be outraged? This is how stupid facebook shares begin.
  8. So, if those figures are correct, being a victim of violent crime is five times likely in the UK, but being killed is 40 times more likely in the US? That doesn't sound that much like a "statistically low cost" trade off to me.
  9. Think a couple of silly people are getting a bit precious. It didn't ask how many clubs you support or are a fan of. It asked who you follow. I follow my local team here, there's no conflict there. It gives me an interest in actually going to matches. They aren't the team I support, but it would be a bit odd to tell people I never looked at football here because I support saints. I suppose I only do it because I know nothing about football. 'ffs'
  10. Was Ings ever at our club? Don't remember that.
  11. But why would I be friends with the sort of dicks that post stupid things on facebook all day?
  12. I don't really get any of these types of messages on facebook. I use the simple strategy of only being friends with actual friends and not desperately adding every **** I've ever met.
  13. Hope for his sake he makes it, but I always sort of feel that for a player who is in his position, already been on the fringes of the first team, been okay but not made a huge impression, going out on loan is the beginning of the road towards eventually signing for a lower division club.
  14. Amazing turnaround for them to go top. Nice for them to get something to cheer about again. Looks like they're in for an exciting season.
  15. How's everybody else finding it today? First half was fine, but now it freezes and cuts out all the time for me.
  16. Obviously that should say Ramirez rather than Rodriguez.
  17. No idea how well he's going to do in the future, but so far, Wednesday night is the main thing we can judge him on. I know it was a weekday match against lower league opposition, but haven't we previously criticised players who show up on the big occasions, but don't put in the effort in exactly this sort of game? As far as I'm concerned, he can try to earn his place like any fringe player. We let Puncheon come back and he did a good job for the team in the end. Let's all remember that in their first season, playing in the same team, Rodriguez gave us more goals and assists than JRod did, so it's not true that he was only ever poor for us. Supposedly he stopped getting picked after that because of attitude problems, there weren't actually many poor performances, he just stopped getting picked regularly and we all assumed from this that he wasn't putting in enough effort. If he's sorted that out, he might fit in again.
  18. He's at it again, why does he always have to be so negative?
  19. You're probably right and I wasn't really looking at stats, but from what I can see on wiki, he played substantially fewer times last season than the season before. I'm not standing by any argument too fiercely though, my point was that not all players improve that markedly with us, which I think is fair enough. I don't really think JWP has made that much progress in the last three years, but I only watch on TV and know that I could be missing a lot.
  20. So in summary, some players thrive at saints, some don't, some players thrive at other clubs, some don't. It's certainly something to think about.
  21. It's easy to look at the players who have made progress and say that, but you also have to acknowledge that not all players become better at saints and that a move can work for them. Kevin Davies, for example, was stagnating at saints, but really came on after moving to Bolton. JWP was deemed ready for the first team in the PL in our first match back, but three years later is still only on the fringes of the first team. Reed, similarly is not any closer to holding down a first team place than he was two years ago. Pelle was putting away more of his chances before than he seems to be now and Tadic came to us with bags of skill and creativity and then seemed to lose his way entirely, although perhaps getting back on track now. Ramirez came to us with a big reputation and we haven't helped his career at all, you can blame him, but as a player he could equally blame the club. I agree that most players improve, but your post seems to imply that players get better with us and not elsewhere. You've got to note that this isn't the case for all of them, so a move could seem attractive for their progress too.
  22. I noticed as I selected the stream that there's a note advising kodi users having trouble to use the website instead. Took ages for the site to come up, then it took ages to take me to the log in page, then ages to log in, but once the stream page came up, I selected the channel recommended higher up the page and now it's working perfectly, great picture too.
  23. Finally on, that took 15 minutes.
  24. People are going on about Rooney, but he and Walcott have both been in the England set up for around ten years now and at the same time as Rooney came level with Charlton, Walcott finally pulled level with...Emile Heskey.
  25. I think it's surprising anyone can't see why many people from Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are happy to see England do badly. I also find it surprising when English people want the smaller countries to fail because of it. It all seems pretty normal and easy to understand for me. We are the big brother who bosses the others around and always gets his way, of course they want to see us slip up and look silly once in a while. Similarly it would be a bit pathetic for that big brother to side against his smaller brothers. I always root for Wales, Scotland and both Irelands, but don't expect them to do the same for us. To me it's a similar situation with Bournemouth over the years. Slightly less so while their results can affect us though.
