As we all know, Cruyf and Best both played for the LA Aztecs.
-
Currie and Jennings both played for Watford.
-
A cock up like Schmeichel and Ronaldo both having played for United?

I seem to have mixed two articles together. One about the entire league and one about the PL, but it's the same list. Just with or without the other clubs.

There's no alternative. If they don't back him after he was chosen by the people, they will lose even an outside chance. He's won the nomination. There's nobody else who wanted the job that the people preferred. Trump will win and probably keep the senate. No idea how he stands with gaining the House.
-
Cuomo wasn't an option and Bloomberg couldn't even win over many democrats, let alone wooing Trump supporters. I agree that Biden does not have the personality to win an election. It was a pretty lame line up of old men and women to choose from. None of the options were at all inspiring. The democrats really need to find a rising star.

Correct, top scorer in the top division, but it wasn't my turn, so don't know who goes next.

Going to sneak in a bonus question, seeing as nobody is asking one. Who is missing from this exclusive list of great Saints strikers and why? Ron Davies Mick Channon Kevin Keegan

I think on saintsweb, the official rule is that if you disagree with more than one person, despite the huge majority agreeing with your point of view, you are later entitled to say that you were the voice of reason and "everyone else on here" disagreed. It helps if you say you were "shouted down".

Following rather than leading, surely? The US wouldn't even be close to being among the first to relax measures. No problem with that if he's been given the right advice by people who understand these things, it has to happen sometime and it's finding the right balance between the curves of the economy and the infection rate. Measures are being slowly relaxed here too over the coming weeks. I'm optimistic as Norway has managed to get the infection rate right down. I haven't really paid attention to the curve in the US, to be honest, but I assume it's flattened out if they are relaxing measures.

Really? Because I'm far more a fan of MLT than JWP, but having played a reasonable amount of 5 a side, I would be concerned about MLT not getting space and time to play his prefered game, but I can see JWP battling and managing those bursts of acceleration over short distance again and again. I can run and run, but the style of play in 5 a side always makes me feel like I'm about to vomit with the constant activity, acceleration, stopping and accelerating again. I wouldn't pick Beattie either, because I don't think its his game. It's a bit like how most would agree that VvD is one of our best ever players, but they've given good reason for missing him out in favour of others here. It's okay to disagree and feel that MLT would be able to function well in the format, but the Branfoot comment did seem pretty obtuse, yes, because most here have been able to see the arguments and reasoning, that you struggled more with.
-
I've been listening to those. They did goalscorers, keepers, captains and European imports too. It is a bit annoying that they discount people in all of those categories because they "never won anything", which means that they are only interested in people from quite a limited amount of clubs. In truth though, there have been so many amazing players in every category over the years, that you struggle to see where any representatives from saints would fit in. MLT as a goalscorer is of course up against Shearer, Henry, Aguero, Ronaldo, etc, even players like Fowler and Wright didn't get in. Niemi could be mentioned, but again the competition is immense.
-
MLT's place is worth discussion when it comes to 5 a side. It's usually played at a more gut busting pace with a lot of quick acceleration and you have to keep very busy. Ball skills are important, sure, but he might not have been the best choice compared to a lot of our other players for this. There're reasons for including him, but it'd take someone a little obtuse to be unable to see the reasons for choosing other players.
-
Have you lost the plot or was Branfoot known for his quick, skillful attacking teams and I've just misremembered?
-
Wondering if we've had many who were great, inspirational leaders for us, like players like Keane, Terry and Gerrard were for their clubs. We've had a lot of understated captains, like Fonte, Lundekvam and Dodd. I always thought Hammond brought a calm stability to the role when he joined us.
-
Not necessarily the best players, but which players were able to make the biggest difference to the whole team when they were captain?
-
When people pick Bale and Shearer for great saints teams, I always wonder if they are really thinking of the player when they were at saints. Both of these were good for Saints, but way off their peaks. If you're going to pick a saints player based on how much they did at another club, you might as well pick Kanchelskis and Ripley, who were both key members of PL winning teams.

Yes, having never had to declare itself an independent country, the UK has never had to come up with a self contained constitution to define itself. However, there are all the same binding constitutional laws in the UK, they just developed and were put in place organically over the years and as needed. The Magna Carta being the most famous early step. It is all written down, just not as one document.

First lifting of restrictions will start here at the end of April. Kindergartens and primary schools planning to restart. Hairdressers and similar will be allowed to operate. They've got the infection rate down from the initial 2.5 further infections from each infected individual to 0.7, which means the pool of infectious people should be much smaller and more manageable by then. We'll see, I guess. I was amazed to see on the BBC that they are thinking of trialling a plan to have passengers enter only at the back of the bus, to protect the driver. They cordoned off the front of the buses here right back at the start. Surely that was just common sense?

Three great attacking players, maybe not enough tough tackling (or constant workrate in the case of Le Tissier. Shearer wasn't quite the finished product in his saints prime, but would probably still be good in something like this.
-
Definitely Redmond, JWP for workrate is pretty good and Ings is quite physical and would find the goal. All time, Armstrong, Keegan, VvD
-
For all-time, try to stick to how they were at their peak while playing for Saints, so, for example, Bale was skillful, but still pretty lightweight and far from the player he became. That's the Bale you would be selecting.
