I think you can make some considerable savings that will negate your 'loss' of child benefit. This is a good example of why someone in your position (and the same goes for me) should not be getting child benefit.

Is David Brent on next?

IMO they haven't gone far enough, they are barely scratching the surface. Read this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/comment/9722044/Autumn-statement-Why-George-Osbornes-Budget-wont-be-a-game-changer.html I feel sorry for some of you guys just starting out with a family. I thank feck that we've been lucky enough to have CB for 13 years *****axed) and we'll have paid off our mortgage this time next year.

Its worth pointing out that any benefits in kind such as company car, health insurance etc. can affect your position wrt child benefit. This was not made at all clear in the HMRC letter I received. I earn less than the £50k threshold but these benefits take me over. As much as it disappoints me that I will now be taxed on child benefit I have to say I don't think we should receive it anyway. IMO child benefit should be scrapped and replaced by a system aimed solely at lower earners. I do sympathize with the OP but anyone earning over £50k should not be receiving child benefit. Unfortunately as someone else pointed out the whole tax system has evolved into a horrendously complex system with too much money being given to people who don't need it. The child benefit we received for our daughter (now 13) has always gone directly into an account set up in her name, hopefully to help give her a start onto the property ladder.

I'd have thought they'd be relieved.

Someone post the Little Britain sketch where as soon as the client is out of the door Walliams is on the blower "You'll never guess, she's only having it off with his brother".

Why is our website the same as Barnsley?

Fair enough, there are probably more important things to spend money on such as a new CB. -

I recall Cortese saying in one of the fan's dinners that we would exit the contract when we came out of the football league i.e. got promotion to the Prem? -
WTF has happened to the bus?

-----------Boruc Clyne Fonte Maya Fox Cork Davis Morgan Gaston Lallana ---------Lambert We need 3CM's IMO, especially away from home.

I vote for Nicola Cortese

We'll be overrun in midfield with that line up. A defeat tonight I think.

All sounds a bit complicated, I'd have run away, Monty Python style.

Harry Redknapp to be named manager within 3 weeks
iansums replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
This sort of thread always makes me smile. So HR is mentioned as the next Saints manager and some of you threaten to 'never set foot in SMS again' or 'will stop supporting Saints'. I simply don't understand this attitude. There have been times in the past ten years when I've wished I supported another club. Walking back from SMS after the last minute defeat to Bristol Rovers in L1 I thought things would never improve and didn't want to even think about Saints. 24 hours later I was looking forward to the next game. I couldn't just switch off that support if I didn't like the Manager or Chairman, it's not that simple. I'd support Saints if Mickey Mouse was the manager FFS (is he available?). -
Thank you sir! What a fine program that was.

Olympics 2012 anyone? Worth four years of the license fee alone IMO. No adverts, far superior qualtiy of programming, the BBC works for me. Ok, so its full of Socialists, who gives a feck and I'm a Tory boy. Granted , East Enders is a pile of sh*t and makes you feel like having a shower after you've watched it (not that I do), but I need a lot of showers anyway seeing as I live in a cess-pit. Now can anyone find that old Not the Nine O'clock Points of View sketch.
-
Could he be the player that was mentioned in another thread? Deal agreed, only for the other club to pull out at the last minute.
-
Do they think we all suffer from short term memory loss?

Agreed, I'm eating my lunch FFS!!

I inadvertantly deleted the last episode of Mrs Biggs the other day, much to Mrs Sums annoyance. Luckily I had a recent update to Sky which has now given me an option for Catch Up TV whereby you can download from IPlayer, ITV Player etc. So I downloaded the missing episode and we began to watch. Suprisingly, when it came to the ad break the program title appeared for a couple of seconds and then the program continued. That's bloody useful I thought. When I then looked at the program info I saw that the recording length was 65 minutes, however the program when broadcast was 1 hour, 30 minutes. I'd often wondered how much time was taken up by adverts and there we have it, nearly one third!!!!

Monarchies are better value for money than Republics
iansums replied to trousers's topic in The Lounge
So if we become a republic the French will like us a bit more, well what are we waiting for? Bring on the revolution. -

She doesn't 'rule' over us, she's a figurehead. I just don't see how things would be any better as a Republic. You stick to starting a revolution in Puerto Rica. -
Training Ground Development - "temporarily suspended"

I'm far less surprised than Fitshugh Fella and thought this would happen long before Turkish did. I have a mate whose company did work for the club for a number of years and some of the requests (demands) from Cortese were quite ridiculous. But I suppose we've all heard this about Cortese by now. -
I'm more than a little concerned that theer appears to be a skate in Christchurch!!

Well that was all well worth it wasn't it Mr Forrest?
