Ok then, who's got the updated NPC table with the Pompey results expunged?
-
That was the Charlton game IIRC, did your lad meet Jim Davidson?
-
I went to the Derby match in the Silver package. It's ideal for your 12 year old, they'll make a fuss of him and he'll get to meet one or two players.
-
Looking on AL's Twitter page he says he's moved to Highcliffe, that's where I live. Think I'll nip out for a drive and see if I can spot his motor.

Where's Kelvin? Something clearly is not right in the camp, Kelvin is being frozen out.
-
I can confirm it is Ipswich OR Barnsley. I just booked 1 ticket for Ipswich and 2 for Barnsley, I was then told I could book 2 for Coventry which is what I did. It may end up being a spare as my mate can't make the Coventry game.

Derby had a 3ft fella playing up front.

benjii thinks your a div! Statistics, statistics. Only one thing is for certain, it's soon gonna be squeaky bum time.

Wow what a special day that was. Sorry but I'm still a bit ****sed from a day in hospitality but that was a great performance. Lallana was class again and I was so pleased to see Tadanari score, what a goal!! We really have momentum now. We are Southampton.......

Someone mentioned the admistartors were PFK but in actual fact it is PKF. Whatever happened to the PFK?

Most of my family are Wham fans so this is massive for me. Speaking to my brother yesterday he was saying how pleased he was that Nolan is out, thinks they play better football without him.

Realistic Expectations for the rst of the season...
iansums replied to Born In The 80s's topic in The Saints
I think we'll do well to be in the play-offs come the end of the season. I agree with the OP, the midfield is much of the problem but I'm also starting to worry about our full-backs. -
My God was it cold last night, five layers and I was still shivering throughout the second half. Agree with stcappy, Lee was making lots of intelligent runs without ever receiving the ball until Reeves came on and played in a few lovely passes. Our full-backs were very poor last night and we're losing the battle in midfield time and time again. I'm not sure where we go from here, I honestly think we are a mid-table NPC team, that is our level. I just hope Billy Sharp gives us a spark, boy do we need it. One other thing, Rickie Lambert, absolute class yet again.

What would the benefits of abolishing the monarchy be? Serious question for those that are advocating this, list the benefits.
-
Excellent post, sums up my thoughts entirely. The thing is what's the alternative? A Boris Johnson figure as President, no thanks. The monarchy is part of our culture, its what we are as a nation. Who cares if it is a hereditary (sp), unelected position, they have no real power anyway. The Queen is simply a figurehead for the nation, an advertisment if you like. It would be good though if we could bypass Charles and go straight to William as the next King.

Japanese flag ..steward told me pole and flag too big ?
iansums replied to millbrooktonian's topic in The Saints
Interesting looking at the press area last night, full of Japanese journos and one old Geordie. -
Agreed. Compare him to Alan Smith (not as good I admit), at least he is so desperate to play football he is willing to go down to L1 to get a game.

What did the guy with a full head of hair say?
-
Medial, medial, he's got medial ligament damage?????
-
Hospitality for me for this game, apparently with a few Cardiff fans.

It's funny, I've never really bothered too much about the lyrics, more interested in the melody. I do like this one however Stranger from another planet Welcome to our home Just strap on your guitar And we'll play some rock n roll

Thanks for all the comments, very interesting. I think Hypo may have taken my (poor) attempt at humour a little too seriously. I do hold fairly strong views on religion, but I do feel that it is important that children have an understanding of and respect various religions. I just feel that making it a compulsory subject from years 9-11 is too much, especially when it could be at the expense of what I consider to be more important and relevant subjects. Slightly off topic, but one thing I think that should be taught in school is personal finance. Not necessarily as a core subject but getting kids to understand the value of money, borrowing and saving, the cost of debt. I can't help feeling we can have a generation of people who are financially naive (including some of our politicians).
-
Agreed (despite my previous comment which was slightly tongue in cheek), but a whole subject through to GCSE? I really don't think it warrants it.
-
My daughter will shortly have to decide on her options before she starts in Year 9. I have to say I am simply amazed that RE is a compulsory subject to be studied all the way through to year 11. Perhaps as a confirmed atheist I have a biased view, but it does seem a wasted slot in the curriculum. It even takes precedence over History and Geography FFS. They should simply be teaching kids that there is no such thing as God and anyone who believes there is, is a complete loony. All IMHO of course.

IMO opinion this is incorrect, Walcott is an intelligent guy. What Oxo has is a 'footballing brain'. He's a natural footballer which I don't believe Walcott is. Oxo knows where to run, where the space is, he just knows football, Walcott is still trying to learn a game which doesn't come naturally to him.
