  1. I noticed how he didn'y have a nickname, clearly doesn't like being called Robert or Butthead.
  2. Just fell out the tree!
  3. Danny Alexander made his speech on June 17th, two days AFTER the one day strike was announced by the unions. So the unions announce a strike in the middle of talks with the government, is that how to negotiate? 'All we see from this government is cuts after cuts, affecting everyones lifes, apart from the super rich of course. Things are only going to get worse while this bunch of clowns stay in power.' I think you'll find that Labour were planning on a similar scale of cuts.
  4. But what would you do about the fundamental problem of funding pensions for people with an ever increasing life expectancy? The extra money has to come from somewhere. Your taking a hit now but much of the private sector pensions have been taking a hit for years. It looks far worse for the public sector now because it should have been dealt with years ago.
  5. Isn't that true of most musicians? And before anyone asks, yes I used to be in a band years ago. Had some good days but my overriding memories were of how pretentious most of the othere musicians around me were. All the anti U2 and Coldplay stuff makes me smile, people get so aggressive over what is basically peoples own personal taste. Music is a very personal, initimate thing between you the listener and the music/artist. I couldn't give a stuff whether anyone else likes what I'm listening to. I am a U2 fan (using the term loosely) by the way. Yes, I find Bono pretentious and cringeworthy especially when watching live performances but I love much of their music. With the exeception of Pop I've always found 3 or 4 songs on each album that I thoroughly enjoy. Coldplay on the other hand do nothing for me, I've nothing against them but their music just does not do it for me.
  6. I wouldn't like it one bit. But then again the reason those figures (if true) are so scary is because the previous government did not face up to this issue and deal with it but left it for the Coalition. We've heard about the Pension time bomb for years, the true projected value of my pension has been falling year after year and so I've had to ensure I've put extra money away. I'm lucky that I've been able to. You blame this government when you should really be blaming the previous one for not dealing with the issue earlier. And as for revolution "I don't buy into the argument that we can't afford it - we can." well even Labour acknowledge the problem, remember who wrote the initial report, Hutton, a Labour man. 3rd and final post on this, please continue the debate without me.
  7. Childcare is luckily not a problem for next Thursday. If it was then I would take the day off work. I'm annoyed because my daughter has end of year exams scheduled for that day which will now have to be rearranged. The whole exam process has been a shambles at her school, little or no information for parents, no science exams then they are back on. After her first year at secondary school I can't help thinking that the school and it's teachers are not as great as they think they are. The plain fact is people are living longer and this has to be paid for. Working in the private sector I know that means I will have to work longer and save more for my retirement. I don't like it but there is bugger all I can do about it.
  8. Just had a letter from my daughters school informing us that due to industrial action being taken by some teachers the school will be closed on Thursday. I wonder if the cost of sending out 1000 letters will be deducted from their wages. If they don't want to contribute more to their pensions perhaps they should have NHS care withdrawn past a certain age.
  9. Fair play to you, I hope my daughter grows up with the same attitude. Wife and I were in restaurant once with another couple. They bill came and the women pulled out their respective credit cards, our friends remarked on our credit card and asked what the interest rate was. The wife and I looked at each other blanky and I said we havent got a clue, we never pay interest as it is always paid up at the end of the month. As far as I am concerned a credit card is for convenience only.
  10. From what I heard on the radio this morning, the sale of these banks would raise £4bn. Surely that money would be best spent reducing the national debt, that is effectively where it came from.
  11. Can't tell where you are looking, at the pitch or at her arse?
  12. Absolutely agree. This image with the text 'Forever a Saint'.
  13. Just seen Clotterill in my local Sainsburys. He was on the phone so I tried listening in but he walked away. Looks like he still lives over Bournemouth way.
  14. Going Friday on hospitality but it's looking like a washout.
  15. Are you copying me? Best bit of our NYC trip was climbing up to the crown of the Statue of Liberty, do it if you can.
  16. Third time to Tenerife, love the Canaries, we often go Easter time or late October (half-term). Have hired a car before and seen Mt Teide but this year we'll be having a very relaxing time just chilling by the pool. Will go to Siam Water Park for a day as a treat for my daughter (and me). TBH after Orlando last year and New York we really fancy doing bugger all and just relaxing in the sun. We're already looking at holidays for next year, the wife is talking about a cruise. We've never done one before and I'm not too sure if I fancy it.
  17. Back to holidays (although TUI is quite amusing). Recently back from New York, Tenerife for a fortnight in August.
  18. No, I'm calling him funny. Most of what he said was tongue in cheek to get a laugh, just that some people took it literally. Or do you think he did sh*g Elton John?
  19. I was away last week and so I've only just found out Deppo was banned. Anyone who was offended by any of Deppo's posts is a sad individual seriously lacking a sense of humour. I think the problem was that they just didn't understand his SOH and assumed that what he really meant what he was saying.
  20. What about the club putting something on the OS? That will wind up NI if nothing else!
  21. Why on earth wasn't this announced yesterday morning? This club treats its fans with utter contempt! .... sorry, I think I'm looking at TUI too much.
  22. Absolutely. Just discovered he's an FA, so he will be an expert on ripping people off.
  23. I see NI is now slagging off 'We will Rock You'. Just out of interest what does the guy do for a living? He seems to be a bloody expert on everything.
  24. I've always found it strange how some fans seem to revel in slagging off the club over the slightest little thing. Do it about Pompey but not your own club FFS. Here is a man (Cortese) who has brought in the ticket tax, surely he's going to be out to get the maximum advertising revenue he can.
  25. I like the WBA kit, nice and simple classic design, always prefer a collar. But then again I am a boring ****.
