Vestergaard and Romeu were probably our best players and I thought Armstrong did pretty well when he got on the ball. It's clear we are lacking physically though, especially without Bertrand offering a bit more pace out wide and Hojbjerg's energy. We just don't seem strong enough to see out 90ins without conceding. One at Cardiff, two v Arsenal, one at Hudd and two today. We will score enough goals, just about, but we need to pick up some clean sheets. We need to get through the next couple of weeks and try to put a run together in Jan / Feb. Hopefully Ralph is getting a clear idea of our weaknesses.

It would be great if we could shift two or three in Jan and let Ralph handpick someone who he thinks will give us what he's looking for and some genuine extra quality. If we could get the wages of Gabbi, Davis, Forster and Hoedt off the books that's probably over 200k a week saved.

I think he's suffered from not having an obvious stand out attribute. He's not amazing in the air, he's not got particular pace, he's not as good on the ball as Stephens etc... However, he does seem to relish the art of defending and he's got less visible qualities like grit, commitment, application etc. Basically, a bit like Fonte. He was never the best at anything in particular but he still added qualities to the team.

It's Man City v Liverpool between Xmas and new year, I think, so that'll be good.
