Don't need to discuss GK. Finally we seem to have two decent ones. Right back - we only have one, so that's that. Left back - Bertrand isn't a captain but I don't think he merits being dropped. In any case, it's not a problem area and Targett is a capable deputy. Centre back - everyone will have their personal favourites but it's all much of a muchness due to our failure to sign a standout CB. SO - the important question is how we get more out of the midfield and attack. WHICH PLAYERS HAVE THE ABILITY TO PLAY FOR GENUINELY GOOD TEAMS? Lemina, Ings and maybe Hojbjerg. Gabbi slightly below. The rest of them are bog standard. So we need to get the most out of the best ones. How do we do this? We don't play a wide open 442. Teams who play this way successfully rely a lot on strength and pace. We don't have too much of either. We go with 3 in midfield. Romeu protects the back 4 and Lemina and Hojbjerg play in front or one of them plays alongside Romeu. This shape also allows JWP and Armstrong more chance of getting a start in central midfield if someone is injured or out of form. Proceeding through the season with two central midfielders isn't going to work without a proper "back to goal" striker who can help get us up the pitch. We play Ings and we play Gabbi coming in from the right to support. On the left hand side we play Redmond or Elyounoussi or Gallagher. In Jan we try hard to sign a decent centre back and a striker who can hold the ball up. We try to shift: Forster Bednarek Davis Long Austin Ideally, we get a manager in with a clear and communicable philosophy as well. Lemina is potentially our best player and Hojbjerg has been our best in-form player this season. Let's give them the chance to control matches.

I'd much rather which Boufal than any of the players currently out there, Lemina possibly excepted, that's for sure.

I'm not sure why we don't have much more public education about first aid. Certainly should be a part of the secondary school syllabus IMO.

Quite. Bear in mind that at the time of the crash it would have been around 02:30 in Thailand so clearly they want to inform people there before it's in the media. Very sad indeed and it's reminding me of how I felt when Markus died.

Sounds like he's made some progress overnight, so that's good.

If they had more guns in libraries things could have been different.

If we want someone fast we might as well sign Usain Bolt.

The only manager for us with a worse top flight record, ever, is Wigley.

Get over yourself you helmet. It's what Glenn believes in. Hardly merits outrage.
-
I wonder if he'd be better in a central role. Anyway, his confidence is shot at the moment which is leading to poor decisions.

We looked slightly better when we went to eleven men but tactically we're a mess, we'll start conceding freely again when we have to play a better team and the forward players are all in a dark place, mentally.

That's not very nice. Mind the karma, man.

And I always thought he was a really nice guy.

The prosecco lobby is limbering up in the wings too.

I wasn't speculating on what we will get, I just don't think Cardiff, Huddersfield, Fulham or Newcastle will get high 30s. Someone will stay up with 34 / 35 or thereabouts, like we did last season!
-
A point a game will be easily good enough to stay up this season.

Seen his comments on Khashoggi today? The guy's ****ed in the head.

My phone's got 64GB FFS. No wonder we're scheeoite.

But look! Different shoes! They wouldn't have been that sloppy so it must be a double-bluff. As you say, there's so much evidence it can't possibly be true. Because then they wouldn't get away with it. So you need to ask - who benefits?! Obviously USA or mega-business capitalists or the Jews. #openmind

There is quite an irony that the chief spokesperson seeking justice for this journalist is Erdogan - no respecter of freedom or the right of expression.
