  1. I'd say last night was worse, to be honest.
  2. Hopefully Bert joins in. Horace.
  3. I'd consider a "supporting three" of Davis, Redmond and Gabbi with Long leading the line for this onw.
  4. Well, they are correct. They have played two bottom-third teams whilst we have finished or just outside the top third for the last four years.
  5. What does "good enough" mean? Our players are evidently good enough to finish around 8th.
  6. Maybe McCarthy was being saved for the weekend.
  7. Always makes me laugh / shake my head.
  8. He was MoM in our last league match.
  9. My thoughts exactly.
  10. Ahh, yes. Sorry, I should have been clearer. He didn't say Liverpool have bid recently. I assume that was a reference to the initial attempt to sign him. I interpreted his posts as: he now expects him to leave but the only bid was Liverpool's original attempt. I appreciate that my post did not make that at all clear though!
  11. He didn't say Liverpool have bid. Just some vague guff about revealing something after he goes.

    MoPe out!!

Only joking but that was awful. Why the hell persist with three centre backs? No problems with the selection of those eleven players but farting about with the system was utterly pointless. Even so, we could have rearranged at half time with no harm done. Puel would have got absolutely slaughtered for that.

  14. I like him. I just find him likeable. That said, one of my abiding memories is when Abonloahor was through on goal from about 40 yards out and Gazza stood still on his line until Gabby was about five yards out. Gabby was, like, "WTF, but thanks".
  15. I close my eyes and see you before me Think I would die, if you were to join Pompey A fool could see just how much I adore you I'd get down on my knees, I'd do anything for you I don't want anybody else When I think about Hoedt, I touch myself To the tune of "I touch myself".
  16. Shows how Rodriguez has lost acceleration over shorter distances but still has a decent top speed. Slower than JWP over 30metres!

    CB Situation

Why do people keep wanting to pick Stephens over Yoshida? Yoshida is better.
  18. If we spent £25 million on someone who didn't make any contribution in their first two games and picked up a ban for their next three you'd be going spastic.
  19. It was a few gypos having a **** up wasn't it? Now, no one likes a gypo, but you make yourself look a bit weird comparing their shenanigans with indiscriminate murderers. Frankly, it would be ****ing odd if someone started going on about that on a terrorism thread.... oh!
  20. ****ing disgrace loaning a player to Redknapp, really. Shameful.
  21. His quick kicks are utter ****e. I agree with the general gist though... he looks sharper so far this season.
  22. Zabaleta was lucky not to get a red card. He had no chance of playing the ball. That's the key thing for me - often there is contact when players compete for a header and if both have a chance of winning the ball then a bit of jostling and leaning isn't a foul (obviously shirt pulling should always be a foul, if identified). In the Zabaleta / Yoshida incident, Zabaleta was the wrong side of Yoshida and had no chance of competing for the header. The only reason to touch Yoshida was to knock him off balance. Definite peno (although I agree that referees often don't give them). The Stephens incident - definite no peno. Arm in natural position and no real opportunity to get out of the way. Noble, red card. So, basically, the ref got everything right, except they should have had three red cards instead of one.
  23. Minford lectured me at university in the early years of this century and all the other Profs in the Economics department thought he was an anachronism then. Mind you, some of them were a bit radical themselves.
