  1. Alex Crook just said it was a great run and a curling finish past Boruc. Sounds somewhat different to the goal being discussed on here!
  2. Ralph has talked about finding ways to monetise our expertise previously.
  3. Agree with the sentiments about Lovren. one year in England - he should've been told to STFU. If anyone deserved a big move it was Morgan and he seems to have simply been a victim of France's relative World Cup success making him the last one back to training. That said, his tweet is clearly disappointing. With any luck, he calms down and the two sides can reach an agreement around a move in Jan or at the end of the season. The other concern today is that only Morgan and Jay Rod were name checked. If we lose Clyne, Fonte, JWP etc this window then there is still plenty of cause for alarm.
  4. It's her company, she can wind it up and take all the assets if she wants.
  5. If they sell Clyne as well I probably will try to get a refund on my ST. Failing that, I might bang a claim in the small claims court for a laugh. It only costs 35 quid and would actually represent a meaningful protest of loads of ST holders did it.
  6. I've got no beef with Leverkusen. Irrational.
  7. Do people really think Chambers will be worth, say, 25 million? Can't see it. There is actually some logic to this sale. It's the fact that it adds pace to the apparent snowball which is the concern.
  8. Van Gaal had a Dutch clique at Barca. The main problem was that they used to speak Dutch at training, in the dressing room etc. It, unsurprisingly, alienated Spanish (and other) players. Seems less likely to happen at Saints given that any new Dutch guys are likely to speak decent enough English and, unless there is a huge influx, will be in the minority anyway. Look how good the English of Pelle and Tadic is in their interviews (and they're not even Dutch). I don't think it will be a problem. More important to get the right sort of person than worry about their nationality.
  9. Boruc Clyne. Fonte. Yoshi. Targett - - - - - - - Big Vic - - - - - - - - - - JWP/Cork- - - Davis / Ramirez /Tadic Tadic/Ramirez/Davis- - - Pelle - - - Ramirez/Tadic K Davis, Jos, Stephens, JWP/Cork, Reed, McQueen/Mayuka, Gallagher That team would not get relegated, IMO. It assumes no Morgan and no Jay Rod and no further signings.
  10. I've just watched last night's friendly and I was very impressed with Pelle. He is very strong in one on one duels and looks to be a more effective outlet than Lambert. He received a lot of chest/thigh high balls back to goal and nearly always found a team mate. He also clearly has an eye for a pass. And he can run and has some agility, which is an improvement over Lambert. I reckon he could end up being an absolute bargain. If Tadic and Ramirez also click I think we could be a more effective attacking force this season. The only real concern is centre back but if we sort that out I see no reason for gloom.
  11. Clyne is better IMO. Can't blame Chambers for wanting to take the opportunity as he might struggle for game time. We should be looking at north of 15 mill though.
  12. A former colleague of mine copped off with Jane Fonda in the seventies. He says it was just a kiss and a cuddle but, rumour has it, he pumped her.

  14. It's not the golf that winds people up, it's the manifest self-obsession, the condescension, the pompous playing to the gallery and the know-nothingness dressed up as insight through cringeworthy buzzwords and obfuscation.
  15. It does seem that way.
  16. Morgan is class but a mdlidfield of Wanyama,Cork/Davis and JWP is easily top 10. Then you have Reed pushing for a place and Ramirez and Radix who could play centrally. I would be gutted to see Morgan leave, especially if Lovren is also off, but it really ought not to be a big problem. Centre back and left back are the areas that need attention. Even if Morgan left, I would have wing/forward as a greater priority than a replacement CM.
  17. OMG!!!111
  18. Never understood why we let him take set pieces. He's awful. Probably would have had a strop otherwise.
  19. Nonsense, IMO. If anything, this summer shows we are an excellent choice for players with ambition. Come here and do well and you will probably get a shot at a Top 4 club and loadsa money. You also have good international prospects. Relegation scrap with 'Arry more attractive? You're having a laugh.
  20. I wouldn't be surprised if Pelle and Tadic turn out to be upgrades. Lambert needed replacing in any case. The defence is currently a bit of a worry so I hope we keep Lovren and add another CB and an LB. It will be a shame if Morgan leaves but it's not really a big deal - we are strong in CM even without him. If Lovren leaves and we haven't signed a couple of really good defenders by the time the season starts then there will be some justified moaning.
  21. Kindred spirit.
  22. I agree that the price was no doubt attractive but don't forget that the Liebherrs converted 30million of loans into equity (ie. Wrote them off). You don't do that if you're "just an investor". As far as owners go, I would say he was just about perfect.
  23. Quite right. The long- term visison should be for JWP to be the " new Morgan" (I think people forget how young JWP is for a central midfielder; arguably the most demanding position). He has all the tools, potentially he has more to him. Just needs some careful coaching and the right balance around him. If Wanyama continues to develop they could be a potent partnership in a year or two. In the meantime, Cork and Davis are execellent options and we have Reed pushing at the fringes.
  24. HTC One is excellent.
