Seriously, is Redknapp's case listed for five weeks?

Are the goalposts being shifted or what? Are we now saying that the scenario is this: We have fallen way behind in the race for second and Lallana and Chamberlain are only just recovering from injury. And the question is: Do we rush them back bearing in mind we have little chance of second or de we ensure we have the best possible chance of winning the play-offs? Well, obviously then it's the latter but that isn't the scenario at the moment. If the question is: Do we give up on second now? Then the answer is clearly: No, don't be a spazz.

Can't argue with that. I still reckon there is something up our sleeves. Forte was a deadline day signing I think...

Lowe isn't inherently bad. He did some good things but some shockingly bad things and the damage of the bad far outweighs the utility of the good, in hindsight. Having said that, he may perversely have delivered us to the Liebherrs which might turn out to be the best thing of all in the long run.

We are only "threadbare" if Lallana and Chamberlain are injured for some time and even then we have options. It has nothing to do with resources IMO. If we had "resources" issues we would have sold Chamberlain in January and wouldn't have signed Guly and Chaplow. If Lallana and Chamberlain are going to be alright within the next week or so then we don't need anyone, although it would be good to get someone at CM if there is one out there who could challenge for a first team place. It's nice that there is a day (today) in between the match and the closing of the window as it gives us a chance to assess Lallana and Chambo.

Because Solent seemed obsessed with recalling Puncheon last night...

Has Millibean had a "Something About Mary" moment or is that always there?

TBF, the only reason we are not very close to Brighton is our first four home league games. We dropped more points in those four home games than Brighton have dropped at home all season. Let's say that instead of the pathetic two points we managed in our first four home games we had got six points (still a poor return). We would be two points ahead of Huddersfield and four ahead of Peterborough with games in hand. EDIT: We have 37 points from 18 home games so far this season. So we average over 2 points a game and that is despite the average being skewed by the useless first four results which gave us an average of 0.5 points per game.

Bompey could also do us a favour as they play Pboro. Wouldn't that be sweet of them! Wouldn't count on it though. Priority number one is to win all our home games.

Have you seen Plymouth's position? They will be down by then (if not already liquidated).

Kakuta, Malouda... the list is endless. One of them must want to join us. I can only conclude we are skint.

Some of Chaplow's best performances came in playing as one of the "2" in the diamond. I think this could be the way forward next season. We actually do have a bit of an embarassment of riches when everyone is fit.

Um, no, I don't think so! (or at least I hope not).

I think it's unfair to say it is to do with his contract. In fact it is just simple-minded and thoughtless. There is no lack of effort. It's just the nature of the beast - he is a midfielder who bases his game around dynamism and tempo. He is also an instinctive player (look at the finishes of the goals he has scored for us - often great snap shots, rather then calculated moves). When that sort of game is on an off-day or the match is not really suited to it he will look sloppy. He is still a big asset to the squad as we don't have anyone else with the inclination to make the penetrative runs that he does.

Prepare! You will be able to anticipate quite a few of the questions they will ask you. Whilst you don't want a "script" that you just regurgitate you want to know roughly what you will say if certain areas are touched on. You can also steer the conversation in your favour more if you are prepared. You are bound to be asked to back-up what you say with examples of things you have done in your current role or outside work, so think about those beforehand. And take your time. A pause of a few of seconds will feel like hours to you but will be perfectly normal to an observer. Keep calm.

I heard the BBC "announcing" that council tax would be frozen or cut this morning... this has been known about for months!

I've been to the Tate Modern a couple of times. Some of the things in it are great. Most of it is utter turd (sometimes literally). Give me a Caravaggio or a Velazquez any day.

I have to say, Osbourne - like Cameron - is a very impressive performer. It's really a breath of fresh air compared to the legion of simpering, gormless half-wits served up by the previous lot (with one or two exceptions on each side). Nice to see someone with an obvious command of his brief.
