  1. From a similar period, you also have to question whether the Walter Mitty M&A stars would have posted on here if they had needed to pay? I'm not convinced they could have raised the £5 - so that's another load of fun we would have missed.
  2. Another good point. I have loads of great, witty, non-offensive and hilarious material waiting to ejaculate forth all over Arts and Motoring threads but I really can't be bothered to look at those sub-sub-sub-forums.
  3. That was mental moderation, absolutely mental.
  4. That's a great precis (with a small handful of exceptions).

    Guly

We needed cover at CM with some attacking ability. He provides cover at CM and has some attacking ability. Could not care less whether he displaces MS or Hammond - he will be there when we need him when one of them picks up a suspension (as they undoubtedly will soon).
  6. I heard a snippet on the radio that a load of ballot papers were disqualified because people forgot to tick a box at the bottom? Bit embarrassing! Also a lot of less than enthused faces on the Channel 4 News coverage of the conference today.

    Burger Van

There used to be a cafe in Cardiff called "The Warm As Toast Cafe", but the sign on the fron just said: T W A T

    Chambo

Of course he's good enough. He's one of the best wide players in the division. Not sure if you noticed but we were pretty good last season. I despair sometimes.

  10. As long as he remembers his fishing rod, warm coat, chicken and a beer all will be well.
  11. If she sells it for £1 I don't think CGT liability will be much of an issue! The clue is in the "G" bit.
  12. 40p per mile certainly is a great deal. I did a 6 month secondment once that I could get away with driving to every day. Cashback!
  13. I put a winky thing!
  14. Guildford and Winchester, good nights out?
  15. Maccy D's Employee of The Month has obviously raised its game a notch or two!
  16. I would consider an easy ride from management, no pressure to perform, a job for life, masses of paid sick leave and a gargantuan pension as quite big perks
  17. Agree. I remember when we beat Charlton in the cup last season (I think somewhere near the start of our really good run) and everyone was on here creaming themselves about how well we played. We played ok but it was the same direct style of play that often got lambasted when we didn't win - the difference was that we put our chances away and Charlton were ****e. Against Leyton Orient this season we played some of the best football I've seen us play for years in the first half, much more attractive and also incisive, but we didn't win and so the muppets booed. I don't understand the negativity - we might come up a bit short of first or second place this season which is worse than expected but we still have every chance of promotion and until that looks unlikely we have lots to be positive about.
  18. Aye, two centre backs with serious potential.

    Lloyd James

Agreed. James was a cack defender but never held himself out as one and was a victim of Lowe's ludicrous last hurrah. However he is a midfileder with some decent ability and I hope he makes a good career for himself.

    Heating

@ people crowing about their modest heating bills.
  21. That was my first Saturday evening in front of the telly for a while so I thought I would watch the Football League Show. It is indeed complete and utter poo-balls.
  22. Yes, I agree.
  23. Or a Lambert, Lallana or Connolly. Or Puncheon. Or even Harding. Or Hammond... that's just the way it goes.

    Chambo

Dickson is a better bet at LM than Holmes - don't forget him! We're fortunate in having loads of options. Gives the lie to this strange myth that we desperately need to recruit players. The only area where we might be weak is CM (depending on whether Guly turns out to be any good or not).
  25. That was obviously a concern but then why would the club bother stating that funding was still in place and the family were supportive if that wasn't the case? It would have been the perfect opportunity to pull back if they wanted - people would have been disappointed but they would have understood. There is no reason to doubt we are still strong financially IMO.
