Can't comment on your dietary musings but re the sentiments on Puncheon, I agree. His attitude is first class. Always puts mistakes behind him, always hungry for the ball and work rate is excellent. We ate lucky to have, in him and Lallana, two of the fittest and hardest working players in the division who also happen to be two of the most gifted.

None of our players have ever, as far as I'm aware, hit the post or bar whether wood, metal, polymer composite or other. What advantage would you get out of hitting the post or bar? More likely to do yourself some damage. If they have been, and I've just missed it, then no wonder Pardew was sacked.

I didn't say there was "major booing" - merely that there was definitely booing by some people in my area that could be heard by me, and presumably some others. Anyway, it doesn't matter. Some people enjoy rushing to judgment and getting afronted - it was probably just a small group of them.

I wouldn't expect wonders from him straight away but clearly this is a no risk move and we're hardly blessed with options in that department. Adkins probably doesn't think MS and Guly could play together as a CM pair so, in that case, we really do need an extra body in that position.
