Actually a draw would be nice. Are points deducted for preparing a featherbed wicket?
-
Or maybe never?
-
Not sure about that. You two are cracking me up. :smt046

Another pizza?

That may well have been true. But you know you've just jinxed it, don't you.

With them scoring a 90th minute equaliser?

I bet he had his fingers crossed behind his back when he made that promise.

But don't forget that any fool with a bit of money can walk League 1. Well, that's what the Lowe luvvies were telling us when NP's team walked the league last year.

I'm surprised there aren't Charlton fans logging on here saying "I told you so."

Not so fast Crab Lungs. According to "Dr" Al Fialka's spokesman the deal is still on, and he says: "That is why he was there and I think the white coat was a statement of intent." So there you have it, the "Dr"'s white coat is proof that the deal is on! :smt081 http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/09/08/17/manual_090608.html&TEAMHD=soccer But a bit worryingly for our fishy friends: Manager Paul Hart, who saw his side lose 1-0 to Fulham, is trying to keep his players in the picture but knows little more than most. "But I can only give answers to the questions I know the answers to...it's all getting a bit like Fawlty Towers."

SOGs may remember Gary Birtles who was signed by the soon-to-be-Euro-Champions Forest from non-league Long Eaton United.

And in the end even his Dad didn't want him!

I can give you 2.6 billion reasons why he's almost certainly not looking for a return on his tiny (0.45% of his net worth) investment.

Markus Liebherr does. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Perhaps it's best to rephrase the question as I did to pfc123 (I've added stadium): Suppose someone were to give you the offer for P*mp*y and Saints to switch positions 3 years from now (owner, league position, facilities and debts). (Your decision of course must be made now, not 3 years from now.) Would you take the offer? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/sho...&postcount=260

Saints' owner is worth more than 50 times than "Dr" Al Fialka, who's their main hope for survival. But one of our resident skates still wouldn't swap (or so he claims)! http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=395219&postcount=260

Don't know about Luton, but certainly Leeds got everything they deserved. And hopefully P*mp*y, after they go into administration, will get deducted 500 points (carried over to the next seasons) for foul and disgusting irregularities involving gun-running money.

Great article in The Times about the fish fiddlers

This comment at the bottom made me laugh: What Pompey really need is a mass-brawl between all the 12 players they have left (lumps of wood optional). The club could then fine them all 2, 3 or even 30 weeks wages and help the cashflow. Come on lads, don't be soft, have a fight! -
Relegation almost destroyed Saints. Would you still think relegation were a great thing, if ML hadn't bought SFC and our club had gone out of existence? Come on, be honest. Having relegation 30 years ago was a healthy thing: it hurt, but wasn't a disaster. Nowadays, it could be the kiss of death to a club.
-
Here's a quick way to close the gap. We need a striker, and they need money. I reckon if Pardew were to offer just a few quid for DN ....
-
Even if this were true (which I very much doubt), it doesn't make sense. ML is worth over 2 billion, is in his sixties, and could make more money from finding loose coins behind his sofas than from Saints. The only logical reason for owning Saints is not to make money, but to get the satisfaction of making his club a success.
-
Come on, be fair Smirking_Saint, they do have a much bigger debt than ours. :smt044:smt043:smt042:smt082

And I want Catherine Zeta-Jones.

ML bought SFC to either A) Make money from it; or B) Not worry about making money, but to enjoy building it up to become a success (presumably at the Premier league level). Let's see: It's almost impossible to make any serious money from a football club. And ML is, what, about 65. He's worth 2.5 billion, give or take. Hmm, I'll guess it's B) then.

OK, here's a simple question; suppose someone were to give you the offer for P*mp*y and Saints to switch positions 3 years from now (owner, league position, and debts). (Your decision of course must be made now, not 3 years from now.) Would you take the offer?
