  1. The one player I felt we shouldn't have sold two years back, or at least should have got more than the reported £30m. Seriously doubt Newcastle will sell him without a huge fee being involved though
  2. Nonsense price. This reeks of the Lavia situation whereby we were apparently looking for peanuts but actually wanted (and got) £60m
  3. It doesn't.... I just wondered why and asked for opinions. Why does that bother you so much?
  4. Why the fcuk has Cleverley shown up at all?? He has no ties with either club, and surely he doesn't believe it would help his chances to be appointed first team manager?
  5. I guess this gets him off our wage bill? If he's learnt a bit from his time with us then not the worst appointment for Leicester. They'll get some hidings though...
  6. How about the fact that he has a greater goals to games ratio for England than Harry Kane?
  7. Club looking to appoint by the end of next week. Whilst my preference is Still, who I've wanted for the saints job before, I'd be happy enough with Rohl or Cooper as well.
  8. I'd take Still over Rohl any day. Make it happen Saints!

I know I'm going to sound like a grumpy old man... But why the f is this thread on the main board??

    Ivan Juric

Where was I celebrating? The fact is we're statistically even worse than his shitshow. That's an ouch imo

    Ivan Juric

    Ouch...

    Rupert Lowe

Was there ever any stories of bullying during his time at Saints?
  13. https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/news/article/remi-allen-departs-womens-first-team-by-mutual-agreement Our manager departs (now we wait for comments about people wishing it was the men's team manager) Spacey-Cale back in charge for now. It will be interesting to see if that sparks any uplift
  14. If Stoneman can just consistently survive the first 10 overs of an innings he'll be a big improvement for us, even if he does only end up averaging mid 30s
  15. I like Alcaraz and really hope he succeeds but the meltdown on here for us selling him is a bit ridiculous.... In the last 18 months Alcaraz has failed to make any sort of mark playing for one of the best squads in the Championship, failed to make any sort of mark playing for a better than average team in Serie A, failed to make any sort of mark playing for a top team in South America, scored and assisted in one game and started well (but only 3 games in) for a mediocre team in the Premier League who are in good form. Fernandez may not have scored as many but he's been much more consistent, whilst playing in an appalling team, and he's only 20. I hope they both have long and successful careers, but if I had to pick one player that I think will be the better overall player, it's Fernandez all the way
  16. For anyone watching how's he played overall? He was very inconsistent for us... But clearly has quality on his day
  17. A familiar scene, although sadly not in the same colours

    Ivan Juric

Absolutely right. We broke him by the end unfortunately.
  19. Be very disappointing if we got rid of Archer. He's raw but definitely got something about him. I would hope he'd be our first choice striker in the champ, score a hatful next season and then be a much more rounded player if we return to the PL in 18th months. Worked for Solanke
  20. https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/james-vince-why-i-quit-red-ball-cricket-and-others-will-follow-1469811 Link confirms what Weston stated above from Vince himself, but the changes the ECB have made also have been part of his thinking. Real shame for Hants and English cricket in general.
  21. I'd be amazed if Dibling goes to Spurs, simply because Levy wouldn't be prepared to pay the fee we would demand for him. Feels like the story has been fed to the papers to put a bit of pressure on Saints, but for all SRs faults we know that doesn't work after the Lavia/Liverpool saga 18 months ago

    Ivan Juric

Don't think we should be writing off Juric yet. I'm clinging (somewhat forlornly perhaps) to the fact we could and should have beaten West Ham & Man U as signs of progress. The teams morale will be on the floor, so just to get them being competitive in games is a decent return atm. Needs to translate into some decent results before the end of the season if we're going to stick with him longer term though
  23. WHy doesn't he do this for the first team??
