  1. Shea to Celtic is an interesting one. A year in the SPL would probably do him some good, so I'd hope it'd be without an option to buy. Or a high option/buy back clause if that is what happens. Also saw somewhere that O'Reilly hasn't agreed terms with Atalanta, whereas he has with us. So there's a decent chance he may sign for us I think
  2. Moukoko would be our most exciting signing in god knows how long! I'd be very surprised if someone bigger doesn't come in but maybe a loan and an offer of first team football would give us a chance
  3. Why? If we're only aiming for players that would consider us the team they'd most like to sign for in the world we'd be limited to signing people from Saintsweb.... He's agreed terms so is clearly happy to sign for us. Can't blame him for preferring an Italian club in the CL
  4. In two minds about this one. If £5/6m helps us get a player in Martin really wants them fine, but otherwise would rather have him as an option for if we are chasing a game or need someone to hold the ball up. His goalscoring record is decent, albeit he's still untested in the PL
  5. Not a great look for the "pathway".... Still if either Salzburg or Ajax are interested in him that's a much easier transition into top flight football than in the PL, with the bonus of Champions League

    Che Adams

Good luck Che! Always gave his all and had some great performances in his time here. Basically his biggest problem is he's been our main striker when really he was only good enough to be our supporting one... That ain't his fault though, and he doesn't deserve anything like the sh*t he's gotten on here over the years
  7. Surprising to see him there. Shame he seemingly didn't want to stay with us but good luck to him. Assuming we did try to keep him?
  8. What happened to Ghoddos? It was supposed to be a done deal I thought before the window opened?
  9. Have we actually been linked with Reed? If he was available I'd have him back. With our weak defence a strong defensive midfield partnership in front of them would help massively, ala Schneiderlain/Wanyama back in the good old days
  10. It's worse for us that he's gone abroad. Means we're entitled to less compensation I believe
  11. Have you ever seen a referee stick to his original decision after being asked to review on the pitch side monitor? I certainly never have
  12. I think anyone claiming it's a penalty needs to think how they would feel if it was given against England. In regular play it would seem very soft but the fact VAR overturned it was nuts... Still, very glad it was given! As others have said, a little payback for Koeman in 93. Shame Taylor wasn't here to tell us that he did like that!
  13. Has anyone here been to the st Mary's screenings of the games? Thinking I might take the family on Sunday if it's any good
  14. For a lot of players I imagine being a professional footballer becomes just another job after a while. Particularly those who don't reach the very top (i.e. playing for a team fighting for trophies). So there will be some who would be content to be in a squad and pick up as much money as possible. No idea if Ings is like that, but wouldn't surprise me
  15. There's no way they're right. The Athletic stated his latest contract is in line with the clubs highest earners. And tbh that's the only reason Newcastle would be interested in selling him. If he was on 42k per week it'd hardly help their FFP difficulties https://www.themag.co.uk/2022/10/callum-wilson-contribution-recognised-club-match-highest-earners-with-new-enhanced-deal-report-newcastle-united/
  16. See what happens but I've always thought part of what made him look so good was that he was so much bigger than everyone else his age, which obviously will change as he reaches the men's game. Still, him going to Brighton speaks volumes of our academy pathway, or lack thereof currently
  17. Great to see Vince back in form! Another ton today
  18. Agreed. I'm not sure Delap is the answer, but at 21 he's far too young to be writing off as a potential PL striker, and potential appears to be all we can realistically afford.
  19. Because he knows the players and manager here and knows he'll be a key part to how we play.
  20. Downes according to Rosser. Seriously doubt he'd sign for them over us
  21. £15m guaranteed doesn't seem unreasonable TBF, assuming paid in installments. And if any material add-ons are solely related to survival then sounds good as well
  22. I suspect you're right but he may also be thinking he doesn't want to unsettle his family just to sit on the bench elsewhere. Or it could have just been paper talk.
  23. Very unlikely we could get Wilson I would think. He'd have other suitors at that price (if it's even true he's up for sale). Proven 10+ goals a season player though
  24. I don't think anyone here thought it was a poor season, though I do agree there were some poor performances. Regardless, if everyone is leaving because of Spacey-Cale then they must have missed the news that she is no longer the manager! We do need to get the new appointment in asap.
  25. Looking into it it seems Claret & Hugh are regarded as fairly reliable, so fingers crossed! Have to imagine it's £12m + add-ons (for e.g. if we stay up) though else it's a steal in todays market
