Sounds like your grasping at straws some what with the smoke screen thing, Adkins wanted Hooper and quite right too. Going after a high profile striker who's proven at a high level but wanting a relatively unproven player doesn't make much sense and could make whoever we sign feel like second best. Your not the only one to believe in this tactic though...IMO that's crap.

Yes of course and IMO 6 mill isn't that much for someone with good PL potential.

This isn't strictly true, it's only worth that sort of money including relegation money, it's much less than that if we stay in the PL.

Thing is I mostly agree with the way he does things, we run our business in a not too dissimilar way, however football is different and a vast % of other clubs don't do business in the same way (just guessing). I couldnt care less if we spent an extra million on Hooper for e.g if he helps secure a massive pay day in May.

The echo really do seem to grasp at straws..... I personally would really like him to do well even if he does have previous with Adkins/Cortese (not to mention turning up to a funeral inapropriatly dressed) mainly due to the fact he's what we at times are missing. I'm sure that at some point he will realise that he will have to knuckle down if he's ever going to be taken seriously by anyone.
