And not to mention he could well be scoring goals for us for the next 8/9 seasons. Also NA's possible influence on Hooper must be greater than any other stricker of similar ability or quality.

Sounds like your grasping at straws some what with the smoke screen thing, Adkins wanted Hooper and quite right too. Going after a high profile striker who's proven at a high level but wanting a relatively unproven player doesn't make much sense and could make whoever we sign feel like second best. Your not the only one to believe in this tactic though...IMO that's crap.

Yes of course and IMO 6 mill isn't that much for someone with good PL potential.

This isn't strictly true, it's only worth that sort of money including relegation money, it's much less than that if we stay in the PL.
